We only spent one night in Bright and selected the Bright Velo. While it was clean, comfy bed and walking distance to main street for meals and shopping....but the running toilet all night, 15 minute wait for hot water in the shower and then it was just a trickle, door did not close to the bathroom so the security light...

Just been lucky enough to stay here for 2 nights over Easter and loved it. The manager Wayne (very nice funny bloke) showed us to our room and was happy to advise us of all the local must do's and were we should eat on the way to showing us to our room. The room is basic but very clean...

We had a 3 night stay at the Bright Velo over the Easter Weekend, there were 3 of us 2 adults and our 13 year old daughter, we had a 2 bedroom suite which include a double bed in one room, with the second bedroom having both a single bed and a set of bunks enough for up to 3...

Always a very relaxed and welcoming place to stay. Great coffee and breakfast and the location is closest to everything you'll likely need in Bright. A real magnet for cyclists in the region and has plenty of useful maps and info on riding in the area.

Very neat and clean. Access to a secure storage area for bikes and equipment. Owners very helpful and quick to sort any problems. It would be good to know on the website which rooms have a microwave and crockery for basic cooking. A dish cloth and tea towel would be handy for cleaning dishes after use. Great coffee and the...

The hotel was brilliant when I discovered I had booked the wrong night at a time when all accommodation was booked out. The owner gave us the self-contained apartment for the price of the room I had booked. This would normally have cost a great deal more and we were extremely grateful. The amenities and service were excellent.

Great place for coffee and something to eat in the Bright area. We had the coconut rice with grilled banana and maple syrup - delicious! Others in our group were in equal raptures over their choices from the menu.

Place didn't live up to a Velo experience. Maybe it was just February when schools have gone back and before the Autumn. Didn't see anyone from management the entire two nights I was there. Cafe didn't open so no coffee that the place seems to pride itself on, or food. A group arrived and seemed quite bewildered that they had...

I visited Bright Velo for two nights on a bike tour with my five-year old daughter. We stayed in unit 4 and had a terrific time. This isn't a hotel for someone looking for luxury or frills. But it is very comfortable with reasonable pricing. The cafe is excellent and the owners were helpful and accommodation throughout.

We only stayed for a night and were very comfortable in unit 4. Comfy beds, everything we needed in kitchen/living are and air con was welcome on a hot afternoon/evening! Thank you Susan and Wayne for great communication regarding checking in (a text with all the details as we arrived late).

  • Note the stylish strip light on the wall. Burnt out and acting like a strobe light.
  • There was no other shelf space in the bathroom and the right hand tap was firmly locked
  • The sliding door to the bathroom that kept sticking tight - - where was the maintenance?
  • Note the black neon tube end - semi-burnt out, it flickered all night like a strobe
  • To get past the cupboard and the bed, one had to twist sideways with ones feet
