Detailed Reviews
What a fun family weekend away with our boys at Sibani lodge’s tented camp, just 1 hour outside of Johannesburg, located in the Cradle of Humankind, making it an absolutely perfect choice for a weekend breakaway, whether it be with the family or just the two of you. Let me start off by saying the booking process was so seamless and they provide you with all the info you could need before you arrive, even the menu for the duration of your stay.
The spacious glamping tents are super comfortable and even though the weather was quite chilly and rainy while we were there, we were cozy and warm at all times with plenty of blankets being provided if needed.
Each tent is spotlessly clean and adequately set up with everything you could need, with plenty of room between each tent to ensure you have more than enough privacy too. A turn down service makes it even better! Nothing like still being spoilt to a neat and tidy room and treat on your pillow, these little touches go a long way.
The newly installed wood fired hot tubs are a winner! We just loved relaxing in these whilst enjoying a drink and chatting about the plans for the day, which happened to be a game drive through the reserve to explore the large array of wildlife including giraffe, buffalo, red hartebeest, kudu, impala, zebra and an impressive variety of bird life, flora, and even exploring the caves.
Due to all the rain we missed out on our afternoon picnic but the team made up for it by arranging a special picnic dinner for us in a private area with the fire place set up which was truly special and so much effort was made by them.
There are so many activities to choose from nearby which offer a huge selection of really fun things to do, we elected to stop by Saddle Creek adventures on our way home, and wow this was an excellent decision. We tried our hand at archery, horse riding, go carting and quad biking and had the best time experiencing some new activities with the boys, to add to our already wonderful weekend away.
All in all we had a wonderful stay at Sibani lodge with plenty of time to relax and rejuvenate. Jackals call at night and allow you to feel like you’re in the middle of all the action, whilst antelope and ostrich roam closely along the fence line, giving you the perfect opportunity to take it all in. If you listen carefully you can hear the lions calling from a nearby lion park too, making it extra special. If you’re not so keen on the glamping idea there is a main lodge area too, but I say try something new! You will love this camping experience with just a touch of luxury.

We were greeted by very friendly staff upon our arrival. Everyone at Sibani ensures you are happy and taken care of. The interior of the lodge is classy, yet welcoming. Me and my partner stayed in the Luxury Glamping Tent, and it felt like we were in a hotel. The kol-kol (jacuzzi) was a highlight for us. Breakfast included was delicious! We did, however, take our pre-packed dinner for the night because the tents are not self-catering (no braai/kitchen), however, they make tasty and affordable dinners in the restaurant on the camping premises. We will be back!

Wonderful location, beautiful tents, great service and food.
We were lucky enough to meet and touch the resident male Giraffe Curro. Wonderful to look out onto the watering hole and the wildlife that visit it. The hot tub is the cherry on top of the experience.
Tea & Coffee, fresh fruit, biltong and nuts are the extra special touches in the room. The surprise of a hot water bottle in the bed after dinner makes you feel cared for and cozy.

A good location and that is where it ends. The restaurant was out of stock of at least half the menu; severely limiting options. Orders placed at the restaurant for room service were ignored.
More importantly, a call for help in an emergency was only attended to two hours later. A follow up email requesting explanations in this regard is still being ignored. In terms of security, safety, service and food I would not recommend.

Wow Sibani Lodge please do something about your receptionist Tsholofelo, that lady she's rude and added to our bad experience we encountered. Firstly our booking was canceled twice because of the game drive car not being available, to changing our booking and adding spa treatments, to being over charged while the prices we received for spa treatments were given to us on Friday and our visit was Sunday and to get there to be told that the prices have gone up. Inside our picnic basket we were given 1 chocolate cupcake to share for 2 with whipped cream as our dessert. The whole experience was disappointing and to think it was not my first time coming to sibani but this time around I'm not sure if i will ever visit your establishment ever again. Tsholofelo your receptionist she's rude please remove her from being the face of sibani!

We went to Sibani lodge in September 2024 during the weekend of the cold front. Venue (room) and spa were beautiful.
Sibani lodge isn't value for money, rather go else where. They had no blankets to provide us during the cold front and gave all sorts of excuses. The fire place doesn't heat up the room, no heater in site so we froze all weekend. They don't provide fresh towels and water when they clean the rooms. Shower water goes from hot to cold while you're taking a shower. Food at the main restaurant takes a while to arrive and arrives cold. It was truly an unpleasant experience. Go elsewhere!!

My partner and I looked forward to what promised to be an amazing camping experience but to our surprise the experience was not so memorable. Upon arrival we where greeted by a very warm staff member who showed us around the area and tent. Then she later continued to confirm that lunch will be served. I was surprised because one the menu was not communicated to us as well as dietary requirements. If that was not enough we where served terrible burgers charged at a very exorbitant price. This also goes for the dinner. If that was not enough the next morning we tried to run the shower but there was no hot water we then told the manager when he came to process payments that we suspect that the hot water tap is not working he stood there and said he can confirm that there is hot water. He did not bother to walk and test if there was a genuine problem. We can to sadly wash in the basin using water provided in a flask the previous night which was supposed to be used for coffee the following morning. It was brought to our attention that two of the tents have hot water problems and this was reported to the manager but the issue was never attended and they still let the tents out to customers. We proceeded to go have breakfast and to our disappointment it was eggs , bacon , beans and some weird looking sausage which later one of the staff members confirmed it has been in the fridge for months. The place has so much potential and the general is good and helpful.

For the most part our stay at Sibani was great. Food was awesome and the staff are very friendly. Location was also great. However, we stayed in the Superior cottage, the cottage itself was very nice, but we had no privacy up until 5pm. This unit is located next to a service area, so we had to put up with the staff walking around and working, talking, chopping wood etc. it was quite frustrating. The lights in our room kept flickering, so we had to put it off, and use the bed side lights instead, and the shower had very low water pressure. Other than that, the room itself was well equipped with everything you would need.

Ohh my word I'm short for words, from the guy welcoming you at the gate, to Lebo welcoming us @the tents, to Karen the manager, very very friendly.
The game drive was Amazing, Karen very informative and making the whole experience fun.
We requested a private dinner (which I recommend for couples because the default setup is communal style dinning) The Setup blew me away, Candle lit in front of a fire place with flowers Patels on the table, it was very romantic.
This is really great value for money. Accommodation, Breakfast and Game drive @ such a cost is unmatched anywhere nearby.
Sleeping in the tent was amazing, with the jackals making sounds at night giving u that SAFARI/Bush Feeling. With No Artificial lightning in the surrounding, Pitch Black @ might made gazing @ the stars and Taking Night pictures spectacular!
I can't note every detail, but believe me you :-) , this is worth a visit! 20/10
Disliked · -We booked a picnic and the food platter portions were a bit less vs amount paid
-In the long term they can include carports for the cars, we had hail on the day of arrival, luckily it wasn't massive ice falls and had to run and park under a tree

I am NOT happy at all, we didnt have ANY warm water at our tent on the 26th or on the 27th. Which means not being able to shower. And its like nobody could care about it. Food was ICE COLD, both Dinner and Breakfast. To put the cherry on the cake we didnt get cutlery with our food and had to go and ask for it ( Dinner was served at our tent ). Desert was a let down as well, a teeny tiny piece of Malva which was ICE COLD meal. I think its a massive cheek to charge R195 pp for a HORRIBLE meal ( Chicken and mixed vegetables ). We had to ask 2 or 3 times for the hot tub to get started. Which only happened after 19:30 eventually. It was absolutely freezing in the tent, the warm water bottles which were supplied was cold by 19:00 already. And there is no extra blankets in the tent. So we were freezing the entire night.
The game drive was nice, and seeing the friendly giraffe was a bonus.
We are not difficult people at all, and have been to many places. But i can say that i wouldnt recommend Sibani. Might have been that we just had a bad draw of cards for our stay, but we didnt have a great experience at all.
