JuneBug Retro Resort is a 50 acre property located 12 minutes north of downtown Asheville, NC and is home to several restored 1950s campers that can be rented while visiting the mountains. The property has been meticulously designed to make guests feel like they have been transported back in time. Nestled into a private valley along side a 1/2 mile of river, there are no modern structures visible.
My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic weekend here during the COVID pandemic ... needing to escape our home and get some fresh mountain air. What a great time with two other couples! We each had our own retro camper. Charlene & Tom are welcoming and very attentive, always making sure we didn't need anything and were enjoying ourselves. The property is lovely, and the cozy vintage campers are so fun! The airstream bathhouse (besides being clean and cute) is just perfect with air conditioning and music. Each camper has its own umbrella-covered picnic table. And don't miss putting your feet in the cool creek or walking up to the magnificent treehouse. Junebug is a quiet getaway ... or the perfect spot for a girls weekend, a small retreat, or family reunion. Book ALL the campers and make memoriesl. We will be back for sure!

We had a great experience at Junebug Resort. Our RV was delightful, spotless and gleaming with the beautiful interior wood of a 1950’s Spartanette. Beautiful cove lighting made for a warm atmosphere at night and furnishings were adorable right down to the old working GE fridge. Queen bed with a very comfortable mattress and a good working shower. Heat and AC was an added plus! While the stove is disconnected, you have a microwave and there are grills for you to cook on. Charlene was delightful, clearly loves the resort they created. A huge fire pit and hammocks over the creek give you a lot of options to unwind. An added bonus is the massive tree house that is up the hill from the resort- it’s huge with Ohana outdoor furniture to relax in. A perfect spot to relax and unwind in the trees. You are just minutes north of downtown Asheville, but feel miles away on the 50acres. Also a great idea for weddings and family reunions.

All the RVs are refurbished 50's and 60's campers with matching appliances and decor. There is a large field in front of 10 spaced out campers. The field has a large shared firepit. There is a clean creak that the kids had fun in, but the neatest part was the treehouse, which is the largest tree house I have ever seen. It's at the top of an overlook with a gap in the trees for a nice view. The treehouse is a great place to bring a 6 pack or bottle of wine and just chill.
It's pretty neat and much better than a hotel, as there was plenty to do after we got back from a day of hiking. Weaverville is 10 minutes from Ashville, and 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We cannot stop talking about my sister's treehouse wedding at Junebug! The location was perfect and just so incredibly beautiful. Charlene was amazing and her and her team made everything so smooth and easy for us. We loved chatting with them too! They were so accommodating and it really helped make the whole event that much better. And we cannot speak highly enough about the treehouse itself!! So unique, so beautiful, and it felt so special. The rope swing was an excellent touch! If you are having a small wedding, have it here!

The owners are so amazing and kind. Due to an error on my part they had to change a few things for our stay and were very accommodating.
We stayed in two different trailers and both had their perks and drawbacks. Which, in the spirit of adventure, just add nuance.
Make sure to add some time to use all the extra perks! We used it mostly as a place to stay while visiting family in town and didn’t get the chance to enjoy the fire pit or amazing treehouse for more than just a peek.
I can see it as the perfect spot to come and stay, maybe as a venue or being the family to hang out with there.
It works great as a spot to stay but I think it would shine as a destination even better.
100% will recommend to friends and family.

My wife and I were looking for a retreat to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. Little did we know that literally 10 minutes away from our home was June Bug Retro Resort. We stayed in a small, 16 foot camper, which was perfect for us. We spent two days relaxing, refreshing, and remembering. The amenities are wonderful; do not miss the OMG unbelievable treehouse! Charlene and Tom are gracious and professional hosts. We enjoyed our “quiet time“ to the absolute fullest. We will return!

Junebug Retro Resort is the best camping experience around! My family enjoyed our long weekend at the resort. The 1950’s style RVs are so fun! The bathhouse is by far the best you will find. The owners are awesome and so helpful. We loved the hammocks on the river and the treehouse views. Highly recommended!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at JuneBug Retro Resort. The property is gorgeous and the owners were amazing, My favorite thing was sitting in the creek - the hammocks were so lovely over the water. The bathhouse was super nice, spacious and clean. We saw a family of turkey's, hawks, deer, including a very young one! The camper was clean and very well maintained. We went to Weaverville and Brevard one day, but the majority of our time was spent outside, "unplugged" and just being. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I recently spent two wonderful days at JuneBug. The owners couldn’t have been nicer. The RV and Bathhouse were extremely clean. I am recommending this “escape”to all our friends. Don’t miss the treehouse on the property!

Hi Lisa, if you arrive during office hours (before 5) I will meet with you to check you in and answer any questions you have. If you arrive after 5 then I normally send over general instructions about the camper you are staying in and then answer questions via text or phone conversation.
While all of the campers have a/c some of them in the bigger campers are better. Which camper specifically are you referring to?
We have Verizon cell service and I can use my laptop off of the hotspot.
There are more places to choose from in the Weaverville area.
