We recently stayed at the Baymont in Grand Forks North Dakota as my Dad had heart surgery. My mom and him went down a day prior to the surgery to make sure they would be able to make it due to bad approaching weather. My dad was not healthy enough to help unload the car and Jill, the Assistant General Manager quickly assisted my parents and helped them get their luggage to their room. She assured them if they needed anything she would be more than happy to help!

The following day I was able to join my Mom, while my dad was recovering at the hospital. Again Jill said that anything my parents needed she would definitely make sure that she would assist them.

The weather was crappy so we would spend the days at the hospital with my Dad and go back to the room and order supper from Bosses pizza and chicken! Absolutely the best!.....We ended up eating three of our four meals there while we stayed in Grand Forks. We highly recommend the Baymont... the rooms were clean and the kindness of the staff was highly appreciated!

My only complaint would have to be that the General ManagerMichael Smith was not very compassionate when a couple issues arose and was brought to his attention .....he didn’t really seem to care!

Thank you Jill for helping with my parents during this difficult time! we will stay again because of you!! Hopefully under better circumstances!!

I stayed at this hotel for five nights (October-November 2023) and was very disappointed. I was put into three different rooms before I received a room that didn't have something significant wrong with it. In one of the rooms, I had food in the refrigerator that had spoiled because, unbeknownst to me, it had stopped working. The other had no TV remote, and they could not provide me a different one without relocating me to a different room. One of the other rooms had a broken office chair and no phone service. For the first room change, a front desk attendant (a young bleach-blonde) told me it would take a while to get me a different room because she was "screwed" by the bad weather; I was stunned. The last room had an issue with the tub drain plug, and it looked like the sheets were slept in, but I just gave up and didn't ask for a 4th room. I am scheduled for a total knee replacement in 7 days, and having to move rooms was a real challenge. The 4th room was at the end of the hall and far from the elevator. Two days into staying in the 4th room, my key stopped working, and I was locked out. I asked the front desk for help and was issued new keys, which didn't work. I had to ask for new keys three times, and eventually, maintenance helped me and told me the person programming the cards was doing it incorrectly. I asked for a manager three times during the last three days of my stay to no avail; they were either in a meeting, unavailable, or left for the day. On the last day of my stay, I had to ask for the second page of my bill because only the first page was left under my door. By the way, no accommodations or discounts were offered to offset what I had to go through during my stay. The only positive experience was the morning breakfast and staff. The ladies working in that area were delightful and helpful. I also noted they (dark hair and in blue uniforms) worked very hard to keep the floors and kitchen clean; I was impressed. I am a Wyndham Club Member and I will not stay here again.

We stayed here when we had to be in the area for a funeral. We absolutely loved this beautiful modern hotel. The lobby and breakfast area are huge! The staff was super friendly and they even had a water and treat dish at the front desk if you are traveling with a furry friend. Our room was very spacious and clean. Everything still seemed so new! The pool area looked like lots of fun, but due to our unfortunate experience for why we were there, we were unable to use it this trip! We also didn't actually indulge in hotel breakfast (although it appeared they had lots to offer), in favor of checking out the Tim Horton's across the street. It's clear everything around the area is pretty up and coming but for now, it was a really nice quiet location and we will definitely stay here again when in the area!

Horrible place with horrible guest service! From the start it was to be on my account i was paying cash at the hotel at time of check in( which I was told was fine when I made my reservation in February), well they ran my card hours before i even got there to check in for the first night stay! When we finally got there and i asked about it i was told oh its just a pre-authorization. Which was a lie as it went through my bank account fully. Than she just charged the rest on my card for the remaining balance for the 3 nights i was to be staying, didnt even give me a chance to pay another way like cash, etc. Than come Friday the weather was changing and a blizzard warning was issued so we wanted to leave and check out early to ensure the safety of our kids and our self making it home safely and we were told there was no housekeeping so they couldnt check us out and we had to pay for the night even if we left. There was 3 workers siting in the office at that time how can the room not get cleaned?? Than Jill at the front desk oh, she is not a friendly person, she lies to her hotel guests, and in the event of Emergancy they do not care for the hotel guest safety or well being. Again we were Trying to check out early due to the blizzard warning that is in effect as we have a long drive home ahead of us and it is only 20 mins past there allowed late check time and she refusing to give us any type of refund for the night. There sold out already and can easily resell the room (as there was alot of people at the robotics competition that were trying to find hotel rooms to stay a ride out the blizzard because they didnt have a option to leave early), instead she wants to argue with us and tell us there’s no housekeeping on property at 2:pm on a Friday afternoon. We booked directly with the hotel not through a third party and we did not book a non refundable rate. After trying to speak with her over the phone she decided it was alright to just hang up on me. Than the other problem is I checked my conformation email and found out that they also changed my room rates and charged me more than what i should be charged. When i addressed this i was told to call and take that up with the manager on monday as well. (I have proof of the blizzard warning and the unauthorized price changes as well).

Do not stay here, do not waste ur money! they do not care about ur safety or well being, all they care about is money!!

This guest was unhappy and blackmailed us. She said she is going to post a bad review all over. She did too. TripAdvisor decided not to remove the post even though they say Blackmailing the establishment is not exceptionable and will be removed. That must not include the Baymont of Grand Forks. They have posted everyplace possible but I have responded with this same post. I could explain each area but none of it was true and was made up. We have a great hotel here and everyone this past weekend was o happy and had a great time. Some people just like to do this. Thank you,

I have stayed here in the past and was pleased, so I recently booked a room for two nights. My first impression was that is was showing some wear. My room appeared clean but there were large stains on the carpet and my room had a faint smell of fried chicken from the restaurant connected to the hotel. There was a sign outside the small elevator stating that there should only be one person riding at a time due to Covid 19. I was in the elevator when a young man pushed open the closing door and walked on. I pointed out the sign and he got angry and said that no one cared about that. As luck would have it, I encountered the same man later and he again treated me rudely. This is not the Baymont's fault; but the reaction to my problem, certainly is. I spoke to the woman at the front desk and told her about it. She said I would have to talk with the manager in the morning. I told her I would be limiting my stay to one night. The next morning, I went to speak to the manager. He said he had heard that I didn't like someone riding in the elevator with me. I pointed out the sign and he replied that he was intending to take it down as he felt the CDC guidelines did not need to be followed in Grand Forks. He said the city didn't have many cases. I felt like he was making fun of my concerns. If this is how he wants to run the hotel, then he needs to let guests know that they are loosely following protocol. I will not be returning.

This hotel follows all CDC regulations. It is to bad a guest disrespected you. This is not the fault of the hotel and feel that it should not have been used to punish the hotel with a low score. We take this serious and apologize the issue occurred but it should not be put in as hotel room review. It is hard to believe that TripAdvisor would even print such a review without knowing the issues and that the comments could be harmful to the hotel and other guests. Thank you,

I was in Grand Forks for an event and chose to stay at the Baymont as I'd stayed there in 2021 and had no issues. Still a very standard hotel, though it appears to have gone down a bit of a hill. The beds were not as comfortable as I remembered them, and when I went to go try the other bed, I pulled back the covers to see this blood stain waiting for me. I immediately packed up all of my things and decided to check out. On my way to the front desk, I also noticed that everything in the breakfast area was individually wrapped. No joke, there had to have been a combined total of about 50 ziplock bags in use for storing every individual bagel, every 2 pieces of toast, every little sandwich, etc. Such a huge amount of waste. I don't believe I will be staying here again after this, as still no one has contacted me to discuss the issue despite me being told that they would. I will update this review if anyone reaches out. Until then, 1 star...do not recommend staying here.

Thank you for the review. We do apologize things were not great. We did check the spread and easily removed the strawberry topping from the bed spread. Which is no excuse. We do put the bread and bagels in the zip-lock bags. They stay fresh and other guests do not touch them. It is small thing to keep you safe and have a fresh product. The 15 bags to keep you safe is a minimal cost of pennies. I hope you try us again. We do go out of our way make sure our hotel is clean and up to date and more important safe. Thank you, Mike

I booked the Baymont due to it being a Wyndham property and being an attractive rate. Upon check-in, I was greeted by a professional employee who was very kind and welcoming. I went up to my room to find I was placed *literally* at the elevator hallway. Surprisingly, the noise was not all that bothersome through my stay. The issue I found was in the bathroom, primarily. The sink was in an awkward place outside of the main bathroom, which was just...well...awkward? The bathtub itself had no soap dish nor any indentation on which to place my soaps, so each morning my soap was all soft from having been sitting in water since my previous shower. The towels were *super* thin and short. I have a 38" waist and the towel just barely wrapped around my body. The toilet itself was wobbly, but nothing too bothersome. The TV, even on volume 1, was fairly loud and made to where I could not put a sleep timer on and fall asleep.

Breakfast was a pretty standard spread...or so was advertised. There were signs instructing people to wear masks and gloves at the buffet area, but only masks were provided. The attendant working to stock the items was wearing her mask below her nose and mouth, so I didn't put much stock into that requirement. None of the juices were stocked, so only water came out when pressed. Otherwise it was a pretty carb-heavy breakfast buffet.

I am quite aware that these items seem small, and as someone who has stayed in many hotels across the country, I would say you are right. My point is that this is what I would expect from a Best Western or a Choice Hotel brand; not a Wyndham property. I have stayed at two other hotels in Grand Forks, both of which I would choose over this property for my next stay.

I guess I'm confused. We have control over the set up of the room sink area. The hotel is the newest in Grand Forks and you will probably see that set up for the bathrooms more and more. Usually guests love it set up this way. Most people have been somewhat forgiving when they understand the staff issue and the hurtles they have had to overcome. We are winding down with the Covid issues and yes some have been lacks but we do not diminish the efforts of our staff to make the hotel as clean as it possibly could be. The hotel uses a Wyndham logo ed towel and all linens are Wyndham. I thank you for staying and hope you try us again when the covid restricts have completely cleared.

Staff was very helpful and building was clean. Room was way too small to fit 2 queens beds and wall are really thin (we listened to man next door snore all night). We didn't get any sleep and ended up checking out early. Pool area is small considering building capacity size.

We've Stayed here before on our way to visit people in North Dakota. It is located across the street from the hockey center, and at sometimes it's full and the prices are a little high.

This time the prices were reasonable so we stayed. It seems like it's a newer hotel, they have wonderful bad, decent breakfast and always is clean.

When we stay here before there has been students student teams, but we have never been disturbed late into the evening.

This is a nice hotel which I thought was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great and had lots of options but wish it would be open at least an hour longer especially on the weekends. Didn’t use any other facilities as this was a family winter get away and spent most of the time at the water park across the street.

Yes, our windows open and our first floor offers vaulted ceilings. We do follow all brand standards, but are also looking for ways to improve our guest experience. We recently introduced a new General Manager to our property, who is open to all guest feedback.
