My wife and I stopped in for three nights to ski at Castle Mountain, an easy (and FLAT) 20 minute drive away. PRO: The location was quiet, the rustic cabin (one of two) was warm, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the water was hot, parking was easy and close, the cat was delightful and the breakfasts, well, they were great. We didn't use the small kitchenette or the TV, which only shows DVDs; since they have no cable access here. The local general store is about three moments' walk down the street, and it offers gifts, minimal convenience items and an excellent (if limited) sandwich shop. That's the only place locally to eat lunch or dinner, but Oldman Brew Pub in nearby Lundbreck was a good option, and we we also enjoyed the Rum Runner in Crow's Nest Pass for dinner... with a short drive for each. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive in every way. It was a pleasure to stay there. CON: Not much to complain about, but a suggestion might be in order. Our cabin was large (two rooms), yet space was limited once the bags began to be emptied. A dresser would have been nice but there wasn't room for one. That space might be freed up if some smaller (apartment-style) furnishings replaced the traditional-sized easy chair and end tables. Castle Mountain was an undiscovered gem for intermediate skiers, and Stepping Stone B&B was in a sweet spot in terms of location between two nearby towns and the ski area. We would love to return; they say that this is a paradise for hikers and fishermen in warmer months.

Choose this B&B because it was close to the wedding we were attending; and it was a cabin. Hmmm, it's really run down and had a funny smell. The hospitality was great, breakfast was good; but I felt it was very overpriced for the quality of the accommodation. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable - sheets felt icky and not sure the carpet has ever been replaced; lighting was awful and no mirrors. Wifi sucked and they offered a tv with videos!

We enjoyed our night at Steppingstone. The cabin was small but comfortable. We enjoyed soaking in their hot tub. Kevin served a nice breakfast and we enjoyed chatting with him and his wife, Jolaine. It is a little remote but not far from Waterton Park and about 15 minutes from Pincher Creek.

Lovely, friendly couple run this accomodation. We did not opt for the breakfast option offered. There were adequate facilities in the room to make hot drinks, toast etc and a fridge/microwave provided. Situated in a rural quiet location in the woods. About 15 minutes from Pincher Creek and 45 minutes to an hour to drive to Waterton Lakes National Park. Overall it is a very comfortable base in which to explore the local area and wildlife. Good value for money.

I love this place. It's dated, but clean, well decorated, interesting, beds were comfortable. Host was great, friendly, fantastic breakfast. Quite, plus a hot tub. Very pleased. Neat yard, could use some lights on path. Beautiful stone steps. Friendly cat and dog hosts, ☺️. Close to castle mountain and Waterton

We spent a weekend in the Castle Mountain Cabin and will definitely be back. It's our kind of place - homey, relaxed, rustic. The breakfasts were delicious and filling and the conversation at the table enjoyable. The hosts were interesting and were also interested in their guests, and Kevin especially was knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed the hot tub at the end of a long day spent driving, and again the next night after spending the day at Waterton National Park, less than an hour away. And since we're pet lovers and were missing our pets at home, we really enjoyed the visits with Fern (the dog) and the two cats. I can see how this might become a four-season favourite for our family.

This place may be perfect for you if you enjoy getting away from it all. There are two cabin type rooms which share a common outdoor area with a hot tub. We had the larger of the two which had a queen bed, a small sitting area, a tiny kitchen with coffee and tea, a TV room with couch, and a bathroom. It was woodsy and shady with trees crowding around the building. Next door was the house where we went for breakfast. The owner of the place is a young man whose wife and daughters happened to be away when we stayed there. The thought that maybe the food would not be up to scratch did cross my mind, but I shouldn't have worried. He made a quinoa quiche with scones the first morning and fluffy blueberry pancakes with sausages the second. Coffee and juice? Of course, and the coffee was served in a gleaming stainless steel coffee pot almost worthy of Buck House. The breakfast room is in a sunny porch type part of the house with large windows looking out onto the property. As a little bonus, they make their own soap which is in the cabins. It is a friendly and happy home which my wife and I quite enjoyed. We think you would like this place, too. It may not be quite as dust free as some would like as the interior makes extensive use of wood and there were some cobwebs here and there. However, all things considered, it is a good place to stay .
