Such a cozy (and super clean) cabin with beautiful view from the porch ! We loved the ranch setting, loved to pet and cuddle their horses. We also went to look at the bunnies, they are so cute and in an outdoor home and came running to the fence right away, we fed them some carrots through the fence, which Kathy told us we are welcome to do anytime. We also fed the horses carrot treats. Next time we have to bring more carrots!
From the ranch we went on a daytrip out to Abraham Lake region and did the Siffleur Falls hike and the hoodoo creek hike, stopped quickly at Crescent falls.
Back at the ranch we relaxed, grilled our steaks on the BBQ on the cabin's porch and later sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows and looking at the stars.
Kathy is a great host, she texted me all the info, and when I had questions at the ranch I texted her. We chatted with her once along the fence to the horse pasture; the cabin is self check-in with cabin key box code, which is nice during this Covid time. We stayed last fall and we'll book again for this coming fall, this time booking a horseback ride at a place Kathy recommended.
We highly recommend to stay at these cozy cabins
(Kathy has 2 cabins for rent, each cabin has it's own campfire site and own BBQ grill)

My family has been coming to the ranch regularly over the last few years. The cabins are super clean, the grounds well maintained, and the views are unreal. Kathy and Marty are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make you feel at home. My kids love feeding and petting the beautiful horses at the ranch. Everything you need is provided to have a relaxing stay. Just pack some food, hop in the car, and everything else you need will be ready when you arrive. Truly a hidden gem in Alberta. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at their Bear cabin as a couple and absolutely loved it. At the other cabin at the ranch was a family staying, but everything is separate. We had our own campfire site in the far end of our cabin, very private and out of view of the other cabin as well as the house where the hosts Kathy and Marty live. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Also they keep everything extremely clean and tidy, inside the cabin and around the ranch. The cleanest BBQ grill I've ever seen. The bed was very comfortable, outdoor cooking on our own BBQ grill with side burner worked great. And Kathy supplies dishes and pots and pans as well.
The highlight was to sit on the covered porch first thing in the morning and in the evening, watching the sunrise and sunset and the horses on the pasture. Their horses are so beautiful and so friendly. They came to the fence right at the cabin several times and we also walked on the pasture with brushes Kathy provided to pet and brush them.
We already are making plans to come back next year, probably spring to see a different time a year and nearby Crimson lake will be less busy for us to paddle board.

Ride the Wind Ranch was the perfect place for us to go for both longer and shorter get aways! The cabins are very cute, cozy and clean. It provides perfect opportunity to hangout with family, see beautiful nature on site or drive along to visit Alberta's breath taking natures. The highlight for me in the ranch was petting the friendly horses and bunnies ! My partner and I much needed healing place to rest away from business, city sounds and relax. Ride the Wind Ranch provided us with exactly that calmness, coziness and happiness. If you are looking for more adventures, there are numerous beautiful hiking routes for different levels that the lovely host Kathy recommends. Honestly, one of the best place that you can go visit for relaxation, adventure and to enjoy the beautiful nature anytime of the year!

We loved everything about the Ranch! Kathy was amazing, and so happy to chat and offer suggestions on activities to do in the area. We had such a fun week - playing games, feeding horses, hiking, and at the lake. This was a perfect family getaway - we can’t wait to come back next year!

If you want to be on a place on earth, not to far away from civilization and surrounded by very warm loving and friendly people and silence do not hesitate, just GO THERE. This ranch was heaven on earth for me, this is the real thing. So serene, so silent so spacious. Also Kathy and her family let you feel very welcome and at home. The cabins are comfortable enough for a couple of days rest. If you are lucky not only the horses come by for a visit but a deer with her calf's as well. And dont forget the breakfast at Kathys, unforgettable.

Since we found this gem three years ago we now make a point to come to Ride the Wind Ranch for long weekends whenever we can. It's an affordable, relaxing retreat for us. It was a romantic getaway as a couple, but is also a great place to bring our toddler. The rooms are very clean and equipped with everything you need. The view is amazing. Our son loves the Sheriff's office, teepee, bunnies on the farm, and wandering the ranch. We especially like staying up at the firepit to watch the stars at night and bbqing our suppers, Our favorite thing to do during the day is visit the Crimson Lake beach or walking trails around Twin Lakes, both just a few minutes drive from the ranch. Kathy and Marty are welcoming hosts and we always enjoy staying for breakfast as well. I have recommended this spot to family and friends and would encourage anyone looking for a peaceful place to visit Ride the Wind Ranch.

Although Banff and Jasper get the tourist attention in Alberta, I think the land west of Rocky looking towards the mountains is as beautiful as anything you will see. The views from this ranch are perfect.
We only stayed at the ranch for one night but we truly enjoyed our experience - the owners clearly have thought things out for their guests and everything we needed was where we would expect it. There was a new BBQ for cooking dinner, plenty of toys for the kids to play with, dry firewood to use at night, sticks to roast marshmallows, impossibly clean accommodations, comfortable beds and even a coffee maker for the morning.
Although they are not set up for riding, we enjoyed having the horses close by. The location of the ranch is excellent as well - just a few minutes from Crimson Lake and other trail riding if you are interested.
A great stay that I would highly recommend.

The 'ride the wind ranch' is a beautiful place to go to get away. When we arrived we were really happy to find that the place was even nicer than the pictures on their website.
The cabins are super clean and cozy. We loved all the beautiful wood décor.
The view was amazing...rolling hills and snowy rocky mountains in the distance, long horn cattle and beautiful horses. It was so serene and peaceful too.
The set up of the place was great too...private cabins away from the house with a fire pit located not too close to the house. So we didn't feel like we were bothering anyone by having a fire. There is a small hot tub available as well on the owner's deck. It is off to the side, though, so it doesn't really feel like you are on their deck. We did do the breakfast part with the family. The breakfast is optional too, which is nice.
We thought the family was great. We found them to be very interesting people and had great conversation during breakfast. We also loved how they were so flexible. We were told that we could check in and check out at any time and that we could use the hot tub and fire pit at any time. They never came out in the yard while we were there so we really felt like we were on a getaway. It does not feel like you are in someone's yard at all. The place is set up really well. I think it would be great for a family or even for a romantic getaway.
I should also mention that the ranch is very conveniently located as well. It is 5 mins from Crimson lake and horse trail ridding. We did many activities in the area.
Also, we thought it was priced very reasonably.
We would definitely stay again.

I already booked again for next year, it was such a great get-away from the busy city. So quiet and peaceful, wonderful view to the Rockies, just loved petting the very friendly horses. The cabin room was so cozy and extremely clean. We watched the White Tail deer graze on the pasture, visited their gorgeous Texas Longhorn cows and roasted marshmallows at the campfires under a night sky with thousands of stars. Kathy is a very welcoming and lovely host, she gave us lots of info of what to do nearby; we felt at home at this beautiful ranch
