Mountain Trek Health, Fitness & Weight Loss Retreats are high-intensity hiking fitness vacations in beautiful locations with experienced, mature guides. While the focus of many of our guests is to improve management of health issues or achieve weigh loss, we promote transformative "lifestyle" changes through the program. This includes cutting edge lectures in nutrition, sleep and stress management techniques. It's an all inclusive, highly structured boot camp style program but with heart. Included in a 2 week program; 8 massages, transportation to and from the airport, all meals, private room with en-suite, 10 mountain hikes, morning yoga sessions, evening fitness classes, usage of spa & saunas and free access to the hot springs.

My husband and I went for two weeks to Mountain Trek at the end of August 2017. Our main goal in going was for the hiking in an attempt to improve our fitness. We both work out with a weight trainer on a regular basis and considered ourselves in reasonable shape. I wanted to

My experience at Mountain Trek far exceeded my expectations. The program is very regimented which left very little time to think... which was a good thing. One of the best things about it is that you have no choices-- everything is planned out for you. You wake up at 6am and

After years of wanting to do a trekking vacation, this year I finally booked the trip and gave myself permission to take a week just for myself. The experience FAR exceeded my expectations. Not only was it a physically challenging trekking experience, but the cursory elements

Great question, Jalapin. I think that anyone, regardless of how obese he or she is, would benefit from the exercise, healthy diet, and lifestyle guidance that Mountain Trek provides. They make sure that each guest's hikes are appropriate for his/her own level and ability, even if that means guiding a guest 1:1. It's a wonderfully supportive atmosphere. Even more importantly, the education that they provide is straightforward and is designed to be incorporated into your life after you leave, so the benefits of going to Mountain Trek are not just week-long. But I suggest that you call them directly, and ask them your question(s) - they can also tell you what their experience has been with "seriously obese" seniors.

There is no smoking allowed anywhere, as well as no alcohol nor caffeine. The classes/staff/daily activities are a great support for better heatlth and personal choices. It was literally life altering for me.

Yes! it's impressive how much time they spend making sure you are hiking in the best group for you---and all the guides have walkie-talkies to allow people to switch groups at some point during the day if you are feeling particularly strong or tired and need to change groups. There are many steep and challenging hikes, especially if you want them!

"Rooms on the lower floor are smaller, but have private outdoor patios. All rooms have renovated, lovely bathrooms, are clean and comfy."
"You won't be doing much in your room except sleeping"
"Only negative is the rooms and especially the bathrooms are fairly small for two people. But you don't spend much time in your room."
"The rooms are all private and because of the secluded location it's completely silent"
"It really doesn't matter which room you have, as you spend very little time there except to shower and sleep."
