Mountain Trek is a fitness program that lets you live in a healthy bubble for 1-2 weeks. During that time you will meet a staff that is passionate about their work; whether it is Kirk and his son Simon who manage the property, or one of the many guides, chefs, and instructors who support them. You will be supported and inspired. The standard meal plan is 1200 calories (1400 for men), and includes a lot of beautifully prepared and presented fresh veggies and protein. No caffeine, sugar, or processed food. The chefs are amazing and use lots of fresh herbs and unusual combinations. I had to ask for extra snacks on the first few days, but by day 3 I was feeling really comfortable with the food situation. The hikes were just beautiful. There are 3 levels - so everyone can get

Amazing hiking, great programs - you don’t get a chance to get bored. Food is unbelievable and great tools available to take home. Go as soon as you can. I’ve done this twice and would do it again with a friend.

I thought I knew a lot about fitness and nutrition until I went to Mountain Trek. They completely blew my mind. The value of the fitness, the food and the education is top notch. It's one thing to be told to do things for your health, but putting them into practice for a week and showing yourself you can actually do them (and seeing the results) is what really makes it stick. I lost 5 pounds while I was there and the plan has been so easy to integrate into my daily life. I am continuing to see great results and I feel better than ever!

My husband and I just returned from a week there ....which we truly enjoyed. If you are willing to put in the work, this is a tremendously rewarding experience. And don’t be afraid of the activity level as they cater to all levels. The caliber of guides, the hikes, the food, the activities were all top notch. It’s a gift that everyone should give themselves, especially if you feel you need a reset. All I can say is just do it. It’s an amazing experience.

This program exceeded all of my expectations for providing what I truly needed - a reset, a detox and smart, effective springboard to launch into a much healthier lifestyle. Prior to getting to the retreat I was tired, out of shape, overloaded with stress and constantly online for work. In one week I was able to shed the stress and turn around my metabolism and gain back some energy I haven't felt in many years. I lost weight too! That staff was amazing, the food incredible and I never once felt hungry. Although I felt very out of shape when I arrived I was never once made to feel judged or inappropriately pushed (although you will work hard!) by the staff or by the others there for the program. I also made some good new friends, a real bonus. I am back home and

Mountain Trek is the best gift I've ever given myself. I've done the program twice - once for one week, once for two full weeks. I will go back for the third time in the fall. There is simply no better place to clear the cobwebs and reconnect with the real you. It's not just a spa or a luxury retreat or a fitness program - it's a place to reset, learn, grow, heal and have fun in a breathtaking setting, free and clear of daily distractions. Thanks to an exceptionally talented, kind staff and the array of resources available to support you, you leave feeling rejuvenated and armed with practical tools to tackle life AND live it. Yes, it's a splurge and yes, it's a bit of a hike to get to (pun intended), but how much is your future worth? MT reminds you that you deserve to invest in

From the moment you arrive to the day you leave, you receive one on one personal attention throughout your stay. Many of the guests during my week had been there several times already. The hikes were beautiful and a great workout, the food was great, even the laundry service was spectacularly. Hot tub, steam room, sauna, massages - they have thought of everything. Great job Mountain Trek. I’ll be back in the fall. My only regret was not booking a two week stay. DR (Houston)

This is not really a luxury health spa or a leisurely hiking program. It is more like a mental and physical butt-kicking delivered in very nice way with nice amenities. The resort is great, beautiful spot, minutes from the hot springs, a hot tub and plunge pool, sauna, and gymn. The food is great, and even on the calorie restricted diet I really enjoyed it and found it satisfying. The staff were all lovely.......well all of them except the guides, they were all lovely with just a hint of underlying sadism. The focus is more on the actual hiking and less on theory, however; having experienced the opposite, I much prefer this model. I definitely came away feeling better than when I arrived with lots of ideas and strategies I could take home with me. If you need a physical

I have now been to Mountain Trek twice and for me, nothing compares. Every detail is perfect, from the food to the service to the challenge. I especially appreciate the individual attention to any concerns (such as a bruised foot), and really like the option to head down to the hot springs each evening. It's a perfect reset in a breath taking setting, full of interesting and caring people.

Awesome program, location and staff. Felt like I had showered my inside , so clean and wholesome I spent a week in November with Mountain Trek at Rancho La Puerta and thoroughly enjoyed the program. It was rigorous, well managed and well supported in a lovely setting. Kirk and Cathy and the local guides took great care of us from blisters to food allergies, to filling water bladders, it was never too much for them to help and support. The food was healthy, tasty and beautifully presented. The program is highly scheduled, from sunrise yoga to after dinner cardio/strength classes but there is time for massages , hot tubs all leading to great sleep. At the end , I felt clean both inside and outside, and loved the feeling. . I highly recommend this program. Shaheera B
