My husband & I have stayed here a couple of times now. The care and attention to detail of each room is felt each time we are here. The owners are so kind and accommodating. I'm sure if the person with the hard bed had asked the owners would have given them another room. On that note, we find the beds and everything else wonderful here. This is the only place we'll stay in Ainsworth so of course we'll be back! 😊

Two comfortable beds with a beautiful view and access to a lovely outdoor sitting area. Nothing fancy and kitchenette is very basic, but all we needed. The facilities were clean. Street appeal is a little off-putting, it needs some grooming but don't let that put you off; the price is right and you can walk to the hot springs; across the street from the museum and a nice shop. Worth checking out. The owners were very friendly. Stock up on everything you need, including ice, before you arrive because there is no shopping or groceries.

This place was amazing! Right next to the hot springs, fully equipped rooms with kitchenettes- utensils, fridge, coffee. And several pet friendly rooms! Beautiful outdoor space overlooking the lake and mountains. The owners were amazing and so accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again!!

Comfortable, reasonable and just plain nice. Great stay for 5 nights. Lovely views of Kootenay Lake from inside the room or even better outside the door of the unit. Small motel of 9 units and owners ( really nice people ) live onsite. Enjoyed everything about this place that we have cancelled elsewhere and going back for a longer stay next month. I concur with other comments...."best Mom and Pop " motel we have ever stayed at.

We stayed here for two nights with our puppy, passing through to Kelowna. Due to the fires we had a hazy view but it’s set on a mountain and you have a stunning view on a clear day. The room is impeccably clean, the owners are very accommodating and have thought about what they put in the rooms. We didn’t need anything as it was all here. You have access to outdoor seating and BBQs..The value you get for this place is amazing! The hot springs is only 2 mins walk. If we come this way again we would definitely stay here.

Looking for an affordable, comfortable, clean, place to stay along lake Kooteney? This is your place. Hosts were warm and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable, great view of the lake, and less than a block away from Ainsworth Hot Springs. Would make a great Basecamp for traveling up and down the lake as the units have small kitchenette and there are barbecue grills that can be used by the guests. The only complaint I would have is that there was no air conditioning on a day that it was over 100° F., but those days are probably rare. We hope to visit again,

Thank you for the review and we look forward to your next visit. You are correct that we periodically get into hot summer weather during the day we are fortunate to have Kokanee Glacier above us that gives us nice cool nights. Our electrical panel does not allow for additional capacity for air conditioning. Cheers.

The view is fantastic, and the accommodation feels more like a B&B than a motel. You’ll probably spend more time outside on the lovely lawn overlooking the lake than in your room. They have everything you need and are located right next to the hot springs. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone going through the area.

The Ainsworth Motel is a cozy, scenic home away from home! We were pampered and accommodated from the beginning to the end of our visit. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with many amenities. I am looking forward to coming back in the near future and for many years to come! Many thanks to our gracious hosts, Glen, Cindy and Tyler.

Great Lake View Room & Great Guest Service.

We have gone to the Mayan Riviera resorts in Mexico in the spring every year for the past 8yrs, but this year we decided to go to a Hot Spring for a change. We chose Ainsworth Hot Spring by the Kootenay Lake with our son’s suggestion, and Ainsworth Motel for our lodging because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed.

Friendly owner/operator “Glen & Elaine” checked us in with Big Hugs. They directed us to many local interests. For example, Pilot Bay Lighthouse - the view was spectacular. Fletcher Creek Fall - a powerful waterfall with a tremendous roar. We caught the longest (35mins) free ferry ride in the world to cross the Kootenay Lake to check out the charming craft village of Crawford Bay.

Our 1st impression of this Motel was the owner takes care of the entire motel very neatly. The Mint condition room was basic but spotless & free Wi-Fi worked well, although the password was too long to input. There was a tiny kitchen in our room and all appliances were functioning well, good enough to make our breakfast every morning. A small fridge making annoying noises all night was the only negative. The Hot Spring Pool/Cave was just a couple minutes walk away; they even offered us a towel for use at the hot spring.

The view of Kootenay Lake and snow-capped Mountains from this motel were spectacular & priceless! Every morning and evening, we took out our drinks to the front balcony (porch?) and enjoyed them with breathtaking views. Driving 10hrs to get there from Vancouver was tiring but well worth it.

The only available restaurant in the hot spring area was the Hot Spring Resort restaurant but it had slow service and un-attractive food. If you want to have a good dinner, you have to drive 45mins to the town of Nelson. We loved the rustic Ainsworth hot spring village with its amazing Lake & Mountains View. Here’s to hoping they continue operating their Ainsworth Motel forever ……………

When we were checking out, they gave us Big Hugs again!
We enjoyed every minute of our 3nights stay.
Thank you, Glen and Elaine!

Nowadays, it is almost impossible to get decent Guest Service from most hotels/resorts but we discovered tasteful guest service at this establishment.

You can but no oven. Stove top with 2 burners and a microwave. There is also a BBQ on the nice grass area just outside the room. It is available for anyone to use. I just stayed there for 3 nights and only ate outside the room for 3 meals. One guy was using the BBQ for his chicken. :-)
