If you want simple, clean with a fabulous view this is the place for you. Owners go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, there are books, games and guide books in the lobby.. The little kitchens are fully equipped, the beds are comfortable and the coffee was great!

The beds and bedding are new and comfy. A quaint little place to stay after a soak in the hot springs. Little kitchenettes in each room. Cozy, quiet and clean. This is not a fancy place, but it's way cheaper than the Ainsworth Resort. The owners are friendly and welcoming.

Catched by heavy rain on our motorcycle road trip , we were lucky to stop at the ainsworth motel and get the last available room. Our first impression entering the room was already nice but we discovered more and more beautiful details and high quality basics. Entering the bathroom I almost could not believe getting this perfect clean and high... More

Older motel, great staff, friendly service, and a beautiful view from the deck of the lake. Room had a small fridge/stove combo, Short walk to the hotsprings, and a delicious food truck just around the corner. Stay was fantastic.

Nice family run motel, friendly people, clean rooms, and helpful advice. The rooms have an amazing view of Lake Kootenay and being only a block from the hot springs made them was easy and convenient. The location is perfect for exploring in any direction, and the expansive lawn was great for relaxing with some wine after a dinner. The bed... More

We stayed here because it was close to the ferry crossing. It is a family owned motel. the owners are very friendly. The grounds over look the lake and there are lawn chairs out front to enjoy the view. The room was clean and with the kitchenette we could bring our own food for supper. This is a nice place... This little gem was a perfect spot to stop. Having camped for several days on our economical family vacation, staying in a motel was expected to be a warm and dry treat. We got much more than that here. There were small kitchenettes in each room, BBQs and picnic tables/chairs with an absolutely breathtaking view of Kootenay Lake. The room... More

We stayed Friday to Monday. The rooms are clean and the kitchenettes are well stocked. There is good air circulation with all the screened windows. The owners are very accommodating. They provided extra pillows for the bed and coffee for the normal sized coffee pot. What fun for all to be able to have a cup of coffee at once.... More

This is a small, family run motel with only 8 units. The rooms are small, basic but ok. There is one "cabin" that could sleep up to 8 people, but most are best-suited to couples or a family of 4. Close to hot springs.

Thank you for taking time to review and supporting small family run operations. Since our rooms have kitchenettes and are really well equipped we risk taking up any spare space making the rooms appear smaller than they are. Our cabin is a great choice for larger groups and family bookings. We consider ergonomics and are continually making upgrades. We look... More

We spent 2 nights at the Ainsworth Motel in early July. Chose this motel because of the reviews here on Trip Advisor. This is what we look for in accommodations: clean and well maintained rooms, convenient location and reasonably priced. We got what we wanted and more. Yes this is an older motel and the owners clearly have invested a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We won the 2016 Travellers Choice Award for Canada under the Budget category. We are still working hard at making updates. 8 beds were replaced last spring with top of the line memory foam and gel beds. Have 3 select rooms that are pet friendly. Located in beautiful Ainsworth Hot Springs, BC, Canada, just a 2 minute walk to the relaxing naturally hot pools. Ainsworth Motel offers a unique country setting with clean, quiet and comfortable rooms at lowest prices in town! We have queen bed rooms with kitchenette units, Queen and Double bed with kitchenettes, as well as a large fully furnished family unit(sleeps up to 6-8) with complete kitchen facilities & separate bedroom, all with a breathtaking view of beautiful Kootenay Lake and its surrounding mountains. We offer complimentary coffee, tea, makeup wipes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, microwave, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a front deck and lawn area complete with 2 BBQ's and picnic tables all at an affordable price. Family friendly with lawn games, books and board games to entertain. Just a reminder that we are in the middle of the mountains and the only internet option is Satellite. Signal comes from Seattle and weather and how many people are on the system affect your connection. The town and the resort (40 plus rooms)are on this system. We have no control if people are skyping, downloading or watching movies. These activities uses up bandwidth that take away from other uses. Thank you ... more   less
