Spent 4 nights in the Alert Bay Lodge as part of a 2 week stay in BC. Good accommodation and great breakfasts. Loved the wood fire in the evenings. Our hosts made sure that our connections for the day trips were all set up and arranged taxis to/from the ferry.

From arriving and no taxi to meet us- small community-lovely local lady quickly rectified on her mobile. Alert Bay Lodge- stayed 5 nights-Our room was really comfortable- (not modern standard- but really adequate). Felt soo at home right away -didn't bother to lock bedroom door at all-no need. Wood fire and sipping B.C. wine-(bought from liquor store downtown- David will...

David is running this establishment in such a delightful, friendly and helpful way we should really give 5 stars except that our room was a bit dowdy and, we thought, in need of a fresh up. We would happily stay at this Lodge again.

We arrived late, after a long day travel, and felt immediately welcome in the lovely wood-vaulted common room. A wood stove fire was warming the guests who were sipping wine and chatting comfortably. Our host, David, was truly gracious and kind, and saw to all our needs. Our room was spacious, extremely clean. Breakfast next day was high quality, and...

This place is not luxurious by any means but it was a great place to stay. Room 4 was huge and the living room was cool to hang out, play chess, sit around a fire, and read. Lots of interesting knick knacks. Don't miss the Umista Cultural Center--a great museum and walkable from the lodge.

Four of us stayed in the Alert Bay Lodge for the Alert Bay 360. The lodge is a former church and the wood structure is beautiful. The manager while we were there was excellent and very helpful. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. On the whole we had a great stay but the...

Thanks so much for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you had a happy time at the lodge. Every year we do more and more to improve the lodge and rest assured that there are plans in the works to improve our curb appeal. We realize that the front parking lot area is still looking a bit rustic,...

The gracious hosts were friendly, kind and very helpful. The food and service was exceptional and all homeade. It felt like a home away from home feel with the many sections of the lodge you could lounge in. It was clean and well run always with a smile from Jen and Giacomo. The homemade from scratch Italian dishes and deserts...

As chance would have it, we picked the few rainy days in the entire summer to travel, but even that couldn’t dampen the mood during our stay at Alert Bay Lodge. Jen and Jiacomo (aka Jack) were fabulous hosts - warm, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Our room (#4) was spacious and included a private deck, and the entire place was...
