Overlooking Johnstone Strait, our cedar log lodge is a two kilometre walk along the ocean road to the Village of Alert Bay. Features include a south facing sundeck, woodstove, large common room, library and wireless Internet. Whale watching and grizzly viewing tours pick up near the lodge. Each of our four rooms has a private bath and includes a hot, healthy breakfast. Off season, we host small conferences and weddings.

Yes, I remember group! It’s always a distinct pleasure to host guests who appreciate Alert Bay, our marine environment, and the lodge. I’m so glad you took the time to search out our First Nations cultural attractions and unique natural sights. Thanks for a great review.

We only stayed the one night but the host, Nina, made us feel very welcome. It is worth noting that this in on another island and requires a ferry trip, something I had not realised when making the booking! That said it was worth the trip. Great breakfast in the morning too

Are there gluten-free menu options?
Yes! Two of us were gluten free and they had no problem with providing awesome meals. The GF chocolate cake was amazing! The first night we all shared a piece and the second night we all had our own piece! I would call ahead as another reader suggested just to make sure they are prepared.
