Nimpkish was a perfect home for our two days on Cormorant Island. We could have stayed another day very happily and probably should have arranged a whale watching tour with Seasmoke Tours. The hospitality was outstanding, the bed super comfortable and kitchenette facilities thoughtfully stocked. The stunning view from the deck was a delight as was beautiful flower garden outside our room (#8) The kitchen and hearty continental breakfast were much appreciated given restaurants were generally not open while we were there. U’Mista Cultural Centre definitely worth a visit and lots of good trials.
Amazing hidden gem. Sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Sea Walks nearby. Quiet and restorative. Fabulous hosts. Beautiful and well appointed suite with kitchenette. Comfortable bed. We were in suite #9. Amazing views. Excellent continental breakfast. Highly recommend a stay here.
We enjoyed our stay at Nimpkish Hotel. The hotel is so charming. Our room was clean, spacious and the view was so phenomenal. The breakfast was delicious. The management team and owners were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
After two separate stays in July 2022 at the Nimpkish Hotel, the best thing we can say is "we'll be back". First of most importance is the Hospitality! 6* (out of 5) all the way! Friendly, courteous, helpful, always there if needed - cannot say enough about the Owner / Management team. Rooms were comfortable and during our second stay during a heat wave, a fan was provided for even further comfort. Complimentary breakfasts were delicious and well-received. We would highly recommend the Nimpkish Hotel for a 1 night or 1 week (or longer!) stay. Now one of our favourite relaxation retreats!
We thoroughly enjoyed three days/nights at Nimpkish on Comorant Island. Our pet friendly room was located on the garden and a few steps from the expansive deck overlooking Alert Bay and the Strait. The room had a kitchenette with everything you needed. The included continental breakfast was excellent with a daily variety of homemade jams. With the exception of Leonard Point (a great place to chill), everything is within walking distance. The local grocery has a good selection of fresh foods and we grilled our dinner on the deck two nights. We saw Humpback Whales, Resident Orca, Sea Otters, Sea Lions and Seals. Bald Eagles landed right next to the deck. Jennie and Bill were perfect hosts and noticeably attended to details. If you are visiting the Islands off of Vancouver Island, do not miss this one.…
The experience at Nimpkish far exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect - as close to the ocean as you can get (the deck is literally built on stilts above the water), and just a short walk to town. The hospitality was by far the highlight - Brent and Jenny provided outstanding catered meals for our group, from appetizers including smoked oysters on the deck, to a 3-course dinner with homemade cakes for dessert. Breakfast was continental but had all that you could want - loads of fresh baked goods, deviled eggs, fresh jams, and more. They took great care with our dietary restrictions too, and even bought special yogurt for me that was dairy free. We felt well taken care of at all times. The rooms were very comfortable, some with private decks and all with views of the ocean. The big deck was a favourite - multiple gathering places to unwind and watch the sunset. I can't recommend this place more!…
Highly recommend this newly renovated and up to date small hotel right on the waterfront in Alert Bay. The continental breakfast was BEAUTIFUL and generous. Fresh flowers from the hotel garden on the small tables. The inn keepers were very kind and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed comfy. Lots of hot water and fluffy towels. Well equipped kitchenette. BC had mandated MASKS for all indoor spaces and every guest complied. I used the breakfast room for an afternoon read on the sofa looking out over the ocean. FANTASTIC stay. Oh - and of course U'Mista Cultural Centre is well worth the trip to this remote part of Northern Vancouver Island and Alert Bay.
Friendly, friendly, friendly. A wonderful place. Beautiful views, nice rooms and excellent Breakfast. Bq's available on the lovely deck. We made a nice dinner to eat in the Sun room. The owner Brent and the Manager, Bill bot stopped to chat. Bill then brought us some dessert left from an event they had. Can hardly wait to go back.
The Nimpkish hotel was such a gorgeous spot to stay. You feel warm and welcomed the second you arrive, the staff take initiative and go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. The breakfast is just what you need to start the day and the sunset will take your breath away. Stunning spot!
Lovely, comfortable room and great beds and nice linens. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with all homemade goodies, and Bill and Jenny who took care of us, were warm, friendly and helpful. There are limited options for food but with suggestions, it was a an ideal getaway.
