Every once in while you find a lil gem in your travels, this is one of them.,, it’s a good 1/2 point between from Vancouver to Edmonton. Rooms are clean and recently upgraded, with a few extra touches. Simple and basic, relaxing. The little village has a few basic necessities. Nice! Bookmarked for future travels.
Recently had 3 rooms booked with a late check in upon arrival. Check in quick all request were honored. Stayed 2 nights rooms were cleaned and restocked each day. Spent 2 nights in deluxe king with jacuzzi tub and stand alone shower both worked lovely. Other rooms we had was a 1 queen room and a 2 queens nice rooms just have older comforters still. Owner was friendly and very helpful we will definitely try this hotel again thanks for clean great service
Just ok... Not the most clean of motels but safe and quiet enough. Check in guy was super nice! The tv remote was quite dirty! The key to room was dirty too so had to wipe both MYSELF with a cloth! During these times...cleanliness matters MOST on choices we make!
I have never felt compelled to write a poor review; as I believe most people are doing the best they can with what they have. However, here it is, a first. The air conditioner in the room was extremely noisy. Every 4-5 minutes it cycled into a rattling contraption for 1-2 minutes, that was so loud, we couldn't carry on a conversation. Sleep was impossible. Unfortunately, we had to spend a second sleepless night, as no other rooms were available in Barriere. We tried opening the windows to cool the room, but diesel transport trucks that were parking over night on the access road alongside the motel and had their engines running through the night, generating a huge amount of noise. We spent the 2 nights laying on top of the beds sweating, as we could not use the air conditioner, nor open the windows. I tried to have the air conditioner fixed or move to another unit for the second night, but was told neither option was possible. I was told by one of the owner's kids that most of the air conditioners were old & noisy. The refrigerator in the room did not keep food cold enough to be safe. The towels were navy blue. It was impossible to tell if they had been washed. They smelled stale. The carpeting was stained & worn. It took more than 5 minutes for hot water to reach the bathroom. The shower had such a weak stream that I could not wash my hair. Can I think of anything positive to say ... I wish I could, but based on our experience, I can't.…
Trying to find a place to park my 53’ trailer in kamloops is impossible so since Barriere is only a little more than a half hour out and saw I could park my truck trailer right on the street beside this place I stayed here. This is an older motel but it’s very clean the service has always been super and it’s quiet. A&W with The convenient store and gas on one side and a great little restaurant on the other side. You just can’t go wrong here. Since the first time I stayed here two years ago it’s the place I stay each and every time I need to work in Kamloops and the experience has always been great.
