Detailed Reviews
Wow, slept in my sleeping bag and hoped the building did not start on fire.
Cleanliness was terrible - stairways appear to be "sanded" for winter travel.
Mould on the bathtub matt
No screens on windows
Trains that blew their whistle 4 times per night
Exits that appeared to be utilized for storage.
Breakfasts are great.
Owners are lovely kind people.

MY REVIEW IS BASED OFF OF SERVICE, AND THAT I WAS CHARGED TWICE FOR MY STAY FOR 1 NIGHT.
The room was amazing, the bed was comfortable. However… I booked for 1 night only and was charged for 2 nights thankfully the person working that night I checked in was able to refund 1 night. The person that was working when I arrived didn’t communicate and ask me how many nights I was staying just charged me for 2 night. Upon checking out I was charged by the worker that was on the morning I checked out l was charged for 2 nights I explained that I already paid for my stay but it was too late the payment came out so I spent nearly 2 hours trying to get my refund for the 2 nights that I was charged a second time for. He was unable to refund me the whole 2 night but had to break it down into 2 payments, because they are running off of a very outdated computer he ended up refunding me 3 nights 🙄 I then ended up leaving as I was making my way to Prince George that day. When I arrived in PG I then called the hotel and thankfully the manager was in, I proceeded to tell him what was going on at this point I’m annoyed and pissed that I was out 141.25 as one payment took awhile to show up in my account. The manager that helped me saw all the corrections and even made a note on their system not to charge my account until I called as I was told they gave one to many refunds. So I owe them 1 night, jump to the next day aug 18, I checked my account to see that someone working at the hotel charged my card 168 😡 I then called even more mad as I was already over drawn, I was so happy that the same manager that was keeping in contact with me during my other problems walked into the hotel that moment I was in the phone, I asked them to remove my card from their system and to refund me 168. As of today I was finally paid up all my refunds and right now I don’t owe them that 3rd payment of 141 as it doesn’t show up on my transactions. If it does when I leave pG I’ll stop in the hotel to pay it but for now I will not allow them to charge my card until then
IF YOU PLAN ON STAYING HERE MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM TO CHECK YOUR BOOKINGS AND TELL THEM THAT YOUR ONLY STAYING YOUR DESIRED AMOUNT OF NIGHTS BEFORE YOU GIVW THEM YOUR CARD. TELL THEM TO REMOVE YOUR CARD IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHECK OUT AS IT DOES SRAY ON THEIR SYATEM.

Goodmorning!
I stayed here for approx 3 wks from December 23rd to January 12th 2021!
The place is clean enough, the service is good enough, the food is limited but decent!
The biggest problem is that damn train blowing the whistle coming through town at all hours of the day and night!
I had very limited sleep over the Stupid Train!
Next time I will not stay in Burns Lake if my life depended on it!

Evidently, they have spent 5 years doing this beautiful Reno. Everything is pristine. Our room was on the small side but that captured the old world charm. The windows greatly reduce the train sounds and they didn't bother us. Beyond the tracks you can see the lake. The beds were deep mattresses with pillow top and cosy pillows. The bathroom was smallish but impeccable. The restaurant had a very complete menu, but some items were mediocre. We had the 1/2 order of nachos one night and it was very good. Coffee shops and groceries just steps away.

It is run down and was poorly managed. Very dirty, poor service, no draft on tap. Some patrons go there to pick fights. If you play pool there are poles in the way. It is a historic hotel and is thankfully its being renovated.
