The host is friendly and wonderful, and the location is wonderful. However, this hostel has a very hippie vibe and is not clean. It has a very strong musty smell, like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in the last 20 years. I wouldn't stay here again. The view from the dock of the hostel is amazing; the sunset is one...

I'm surprised to read all the other comments saying this place is pretty bad. You are sleeping in a caboose in the middle of Canada - so it's not a fancy HI Hostel in a major city..! We had a great time and I would return. The beds & bathroom were fine and showers a few cabooses away. The property...

Sorry to say but this was and is, not a good idea to stay here if.... you can not hack a dirty place. It was pretty awful ! The fridge was full of old food (no one else was staying there when we were there so ... who's food was it ?) The kitchen was so dirty I could not...

The owner is a wonderful host who runs a really fascinating hostel. She makes amazing pancake with fruit breakfasts and we highly recommend that you sign up for them. The main shop sells staples for cooking, as well as delicious baked goods. The high tea is really amazing - they serve lavender scones and curry egg sandwiches and proper cucumber...

First of all I have to say that the manageress was friendly, helpful and knowledge, obviously a traveller. There was also a gentleman on site who we were never introduced to and he never spoke. I've noticed the profile picture on trip advisor and I have to say it doesn't look anything like the place we stayed in. The first...

We love trains and this place seemed like a good idea, but we had a terrible experience at this place. There was some strange man living there and lurking who was very rude. It was freezing and wet and cold in the beds. It has some cool decor but needs a serious cleaning.

This is probably one of the coolest places I've ever stayed! At first the hostel looked crazy and I was thinking what on earth have I booked? But I'm so glad I did book it! Blair was the best host you could ask for, full of information about the local area and other places in Canada! The animals are so...

Indescribable really. An old converted store that still functions in part as a store, with some rooms in the building and the other rooms in converted railway carriages. Close to the highway but downhill so noise is present but not intrusive. Right on the lake, with a beavers nest just up a path, lined by Barbie dolls of all things....

When you first Drive down the driveway you think "oh Lord what is this?". 4 train cabooses that have been redone into 6 bed dorms with kitchens, bathroom and small dining. It super cozy and cool. The beds were comfortable and the units are cleaned daily. Free canoe and lovely dock on the river is a plus.

Good atmosphere, nice pancakes and lamas and other animals and other animals. Unfortunately we couldn't use the canoes because the weather forecast was bad. We stayed just one night on our way from Jasper to Vancouver, but had a nice afternoon / evening.
