We absolutely loved our overnight stay at Strongwater. Our charming cabin was lit up ready for us. We were expecting something very rustic but this was more like glamping! Lovely cabins with small details that make it unique and welcoming. The bathrooms located in a separate building were spotlessly clean. The location of Strongwater is perfect for accessing the Skookumchuk Narrows and other local hikes. We visited the Wilderness Lodge for a delicious breakfast. Strongwater has plenty of great camping spots for both tents and RVs. We're sure to visit another time. The host is lovely.

We had the timing of arriving to Strongwater Campground in the rain. We asked about our tent site and they directed us to the spot. The owner then said " Hey, seeing as it's raining and the cabin is not booked, go stay in the cabin for the cost of the tent site!" It was such a great gift of kindness....it made the first night of our trip dry and cozy! Thank you Strongwater!

Of the 40 reviews listed here, three are 1 star and 37 are 4 and 5 star. That's a pretty impressive record in anybody's book. The three 1 star reviews sound pretty bad until you read the owner's response. I am pretty sure, based on our experience, that Cheyenne and Dwayne would have done everything possible to make these people happy.

Our situation was similar to one of them in that there was a glitch with our reservation. Cheyenne apologized and set us up in a nice non-campsite location and told us to go ahead and use the vacant cabin opposite for anything else we needed. It worked out fine and we really enjoyed our time at Strongwater. The kicker was that when we went to check out, they insisted on only charging us for one of the two nights because we didn't have a proper campsite, and on top of that they gave us a further discount because we live on the Sunshine Coast. That's excellent customer service. We were fully prepared to pay the full amount because they made sure we had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay.

Cheyenne and Dwayne are a super friendly, very hard working couple. Their washrooms and showers are spotless. We will definitely be back.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2020. When we arrived Cheyenne gifted us with a bottle of wine (such a lovely surprise) and showed us newborn ducklings and various other animals roaming around. We were shown to our cabin (cabin #1 - the most private as the food truck beside us was closed)- and made us feel very welcome. We spent 3 days relaxing, enjoying the cozy, warm, PERFECT cabin, and canoeing around the beautiful lake. The bathrooms were very well maintained and we were pleasantly surprised to find a dishwashing sink with hot water available. My fiancé and I had an amazing getaway and would absolutely return.

Looking for a campground that offers spacious spots, clean facilities, hot-water showers, accommodating hosts and an all-round great vibe? This is your place!

I was drawn to Egmont to see the rapids, but with hindsight the highlight was sitting around the campfire with Cheyenne, Dwayne and their friends (+ 1 very cute puppy!). Their genuinely warm welcome, and generosity of character were a true gift. This is what it feels like to find friendship even though you’re just passing through. I also appreciated their attention to detail; fun artistic signs add to the vibe of the place, and guests are encouraged to take a book from their library.

Their campground and cabins are a short walk to the trailhead that leads to the rapids. There’s a fantastic bakery/café on the way - the perfect place to grab coffee or lunch. This location is unbeatable.

Cheyenne: thanks again for your hospitality and kindness. I think of you guys often!

Even though there is no bathroom or toilet in the cabin, it was an absolutely wonderful experience to stay there.
The bed was huge and very comfortable. The cabin was just beautiful. There was a small refrigerator and the cabin was very clean.
Cheyenne and her husband are wonderful hosts and the many animals that live on the farm make the experience even more beautiful.
It was a pleasure to sit in front of the cabin, listen to the birds and just relax. It's a shame we were only there for one night.

If you are planning on booking a summer vacation - I would caution in this location.
We booked a night stay last summer (July) and it were kept awake all night by large ants! (Lots!!!)
It was horrible, they were coming though the walls and all over our bed.
We let the host know and they initially were very apologetic and offered a discount for the night. Indicating they would send a e transfer refund.
We headed on our way only to never receive the promised refund.
When we followed up they basically told us they didn’t believe us and had changed their mind on a refund.

I am all about supporting local businesses, but just not this one...
Do yourself a favour and find another place :)

Response from Cheyenne Ramsey, Owner at Strongwater Camping and Cabins
Responded Feb 23, 2021
You already posted this on Google. As I responded there the guests the day before you and the day after never saw an ant. I never even met you as you stayed in your cabin the whole time while your husband hung out all day by our duck house on the wifi. Of course when you initially told me by email after you had left I was horrified but when I cleaned the cabin and found 1 ant and then called the previous guests who stayed in said cabin and also asked the next guests who saw nary an ant I had to question whether it was just your bad dream. I did offer you a discount on your next stay. In these trying times your energy attacking our business speaks volumes. I am sorry you are so angry and yet more thankful for the many wonderful and happy people who do stay with us.

Friendly campsite with great cabins. We stayed in one that was perched high in the trees and everything was really clean and comfortable. Our son had a separate A frame cabin. The shower facilities were spacious and clean and there is a separate dish washing area.

We arrive late at night for a quick
Stop before we caught an early morning ferry. The tree house was super cute the hosts met us and gave us all the info we needed. The bathroom area was very clean. I definitely would take a stop in. Maybe next time to camp on the motorcycle!

We enjoyed our stay in one of the cabins. The owners are super friendly and their mini-zoo of animals was a delight. The cabin was comfie and totally clean. The tiny village is great. We enjoyed the cats that hung out at the general store as well.
