Majestic, inspiring. This beautiful lodge nestled is away on Gabriola Island. If looking to get away from the hustle and bustle or the world of electronics, it is a get place to go unplugged. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The decor was of native and local artwork and was like walking through an art gallery. Our Hostess, Janice Raven...

We had a very comfortable two nights at the Hummingbird, getting a friendly welcome from the hosts and the breakfast was delicious. The property is large with many fruits and vegetables grown on site, even walnuts and hazelnuts. For bike riders: we were traveling by bike and the steep hill was a little tough to tackle when coming from the...

My husband and I spent two nights here in August, and we loved it. The large spacious balcony with a view of the sunset and the short walk to the beach were highlights, as was the delicious organic breakfast grown on the property.

We had a perfectly wonderful experience at the Hummingbird. Janice and John have created a very special environment: comfortable, spacious accommodations; beautiful setting; and yummy breakfasts. We felt cared for while at the same time afforded great privacy....and like other reviewers, we were very reluctant to leave!

I went away for a weekend getaway with a friend and this was a perfect choice for it. The house was beautiful and decorated with all kinds of art: both local and a collection of Inuit pieces. We were greeted with hummingbirds even before we knocked on the door! The public access to the beach was just across the street,...
