For $120 the room was way too hot. There were no night stands, no table lamps, no phone to call to complain, no shower curtain, no shampoo, soap, or curtain over the kitchen window. The shower was a metal box that was broken and taped, the bathroom floor was ripped and stained, the main curtain was just tucked over the rod so you couldn’t open it. the tv didn’t work, and.. the room stunk of pot!!

I stayed in room 8 for $115. Its a $50 room tops. They advertise; air, WiFi, kitchenettes, reasonable rates. BUT, in my room there was NO heat, no a.c., no glasses, no cutlery, no frying pan, tv did not work, no soap, no shampoo. Crappy old furniture, no blankets, just a bed cover. Very noisy because it's rite beside the rd. Office was closed 11 am so I couldn't complain about the room to owner. Room 9 was open and I went in and saw cutlery, fri pan but NO stove. No sign of employees.

Lovely little Motel, long drive just wanted a clean quiet room and they delivered. Spotless room with antiques. Would definitely stay again. Owners super nice and helpful with suggestions of where to eat. There was a beautiful walk by a crystal clear, lazy river and magnificent trees. The river access was super convenient and we would consider coming back next summer for a float.

The hotel owners were a great gift in saving our honeymoon... My wife and I were enjoying our honeymoon up until we had an encounter with a black bear while backcountry camping in Waterton and dealing with a blown tire outside of Grand Forks, within 24 hours of each other! We were destined for Penticton but was forced to stay in Grand Forks for the night. After we efficiently got a room at the front desk, I uncustomarilly asked to borrow a second tire jack to tend to our vehicle. The owner generously lent his professional tire jack and more. He arranged for a used tire to be mounted on the tire rim and helped me to switch out the two tires. His friendly demeanor and outstanding care for his visitors is truly exceptional. Our experience with him and his wife proves that there are still great people out there who want to help their fellow man by providing good service and a friendly smile. When we got settled we were pleased to the cleaniness and good condition of the motel room. The bathroom was spotless, the bedsheets were clean and crisp, and the mattress was comfortble. The small kitchen had everything we needed to cook a hot meal. It is no 5-Star Hotel by no means, but it is a great place to stay while being friendly to your budget, safe, clean, and comfortable. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

My family & I stayed here overnight passing through about a week ago. I was really hopeful about the stay, knowing it was right on the river and there were some extra in room perks like a small kitchen set up. Unfortunately the place did not meet my standards for clean. There was hair in the shower, hair and urine on the toilet and the dust on the baseboards was so thick I wonder if they’ve been cleaned at all in months. It was a “shoes on” kind of place. I was feeling thankful I travelled with Lysol spray, and sprayed all major touchpoints before letting my family enter. The odd thing about the motel is that the linens were crisp, clean, bleached and seemingly well cared for, so why stop there and not provide a better standard of clean? I was travelling with a baby and couldn’t even let him crawl around. The river front was another disappointment. There was one narrow path filled with thorny bushes (wild roses maybe?) and the riverfront was full of garbage. I squeezed through the path with my kids to let them play in the sand for a bit - another mistake. A cat had been using the sand as a toilet. The “rocks” my kid was playing with were in fact, feline poop nuggets. I do recognize that is not under the control of the motel, it’s just something to note. Upon departure from the river, I didn’t want to go back through the prickle bushes so I actually had to intrude right through The middle of an RV campsite to get out. I really wanted to like this little motel, but it needs some serious elbow grease in the rooms and some clean up and development of the riverfront.

VERY clean. Yes, the room and furniture in it are dated. As the motel's name suggested, I was expecting something very old. Instead, we had a great night's sleep in a squeaky clean room with a very clean bathroom. No "old smells" whatsoever. I would definitely stay here again. Wifi was totally adequate.

Can’t drink the water for my entire stay. Was told they offer bottled water but none for me. Found old mouse dropping in the dresser drawers. Bought mouse traps but it was old. Hot water was hard to come by and I did not like the cold showers. No tub, just the metal shower. My opportunity to move cake after 16 days of my prepaid monthly rate. This means that just under 1/2 my money would be returned to my personal credit card and instead they changed me to daily from monthly rental and refunded me approximately $100 instead of the $407 I was expecting.

I recently travelled to my 40th high school reunion and stopped here partway. I'd booked the room sight unseen off the internet and was delighted with the room, not only because I got there so late the key was waiting for me in a secret location and I was tired, but because it was so quaint, with laminate flooring, antique-ish furniture, a homemade-looking quilt, a lace runner on the vanity, etc., so many small touches that showed the thoughtful care of the owners. It was anything but typical. It almost felt like I'd arrived at my Grandma's house instead of a motel on the edge of town on Highway 3. The sheets were crisp, cool and clean and felt like heaven on my road-weary (convertible-driven, therefore sun, wind- battered, etc.) body. My only disappointment was the small standup shower when I was craving a bath but otherwise, it was delightful. I spoke with the very personable owners in the morning and that was a further pleasure. I would totally recommend this place.

Wonderful hosts, the room was cooled down for me when I arrived and was very comfortable and clean. Easy access to town and the road out of it. The sound of traffic didn't affect me. I would recommend it.

Small room, but clean and comfy. Same price for a room with kitchenette as without, so we took it. Catch is you have to wash your own dishes, which is fine by me. It's an honour system though, and I think the previous guests faked it, so I washed everything we were going to use. I wouldn't use the pots and pans, they were pretty old and beat up. Fridge and microwave were pretty new. Bed was pretty comfy, and despite being right on hwy 3, we didn't hear traffic, and slept well. Bathroom was tiny, and the door didn't latch properly, so good thing it was just 2 of us :P Not a swanky place, but all in all, just fine for what we needed.
