I stayed at this Lodge twice in May 2023. This lodge is located just off Hwy 16 and met all my expectations.

Nearby is the Heartland restaurant that serves a good breakfast and offers a variety of evening meals. The lodge itself has a room on the main floor where you are welcome to reheat meals but it does not serve breakfast. They recommend a small cafe in the railway station for breakfast if you have a lot of time.

The accommodations are good. Well appointed, spotless rooms with comfortable beds reflect the professionalism of this establishment. Everything is quiet and well run.

I highly recommend the Lodge in McBride you need a place to stay in this small quaint village. Check out the neat mountain peak names for each room.

This family-owned lodge is one of the best, if not the best, places I've stay in recent years. Outstanding. I was a walk-in, no reservation. The host was very accommodating and set me up in a very comfortable room at an extremely reasonable rate. The room and the entire place was very clean and quiet. Everything was provided. McBride is a lovely small town tucked up against the Rockies in eastern British Columbia. I went out of my way to visit McBride so that I might see The Lodge for myself and hopefully stay there. A very pleasant and rewarding experience.

I was attempting a long night push from central BC through to Hinton. Gave up in McBride.

Normally, I prefer to camp when I travel, but due to the long weekend, there was nowhere to camp.

Place next door saw my exhaustion and tried to massively upsell me on a room. I decided to check out The Lodge instead.

The front desk agent (I think he was management also?) opened the door while I was trying to figure out the online self registration, and told me that he was about to get into bed, but had heard me drive in. He said that he had a room available for the standard flat rate (which was a very good rate for the area).

The room was really good. In the mountains, you can often find ourself paying double the amount for the same quality of room.

In addition, the guest information pamphlet and even the registration form had a lot of personality and humor to them, which was fun.

If I'm looking for a room in the area again, I'll definitely look here first.

I must say, I am so happy to read this review..... I remember the night that my husband checked you in. I'm actually the one who has written all the copy for everything our guests read, as well as snapped all the photos on display myself.....and it's my personal policy to keep our rates fair and level and have one price for everyone! I hope you'll come and stay again if you ever find yourself back in McBride:)

We had a lovely stay here. The room was so clean, the sheets and pillows are very comfortable. This lodge is owner operated and you can tell in the best way. There is intentionality behind even the smallest details. The furniture is all handmade and very well built. Each room is named after a mountain with local photos of the mountain framed all throughout the hotel. The photographer is one of the owners! There were little chocolates, a welcome book that told us if we had forgotten anything (eg toothbrush, feminine items) to just let them know.
I had a great sleep there, a nice hot shower and just felt at home. It was nice, dark and quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again.
In the morning there were even deer wandering and eating outside the lodge, a testament to the great energy of the place.
Definitely stay here.

We recently stayed at The Lodge and have to say that we would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling or staying in the area.

The hotel and the rooms were impeccably clean. I particularly loved the homey touches, like the flower in the bathroom. It felt to us like we were a welcome guest in someone's home. That personal feel is not very common these days.

After a couple of days on the road the quiet serenity of our room, a nice hot coffee and a very comfortable bed were very appreciated.

The room was huge! We had all of our bags, etc and were not tripping on anything. Believe me having extra "leg room" is underrated by some hotels.

The bathtub was particularly appreciated after our long drive. It was certainly not a typical hotel bath and being able to have a good soak before bed was sublime. Did I mention the quietness of this hotel? It was so lovely.

One thing that would have been nice was a list of places to eat in McBride since food was not available in the hotel. It is a small town with limited choices, especially after certain time of day.

Overall, our experience was great and would love to stay again.

Was passing through McBride and needed accommodation. This property offered it's own website online and I prefer to give the money to the property over the middlemen who insinuate themselves everywhere lately. (taking a cut for zero work, essentially. Bed was comfy, host was helpful, it was clean and quiet. Has a sort of funky decor--rough hewn wood mixed with Asian ornate tissue boxes? In any case, it was what I needed that evening and I recommend. p.s. Bring your own Netflix/Prime/Dazn passwords because this is a VERY 2022 style setup. No cable here, kids.

We had an amazing stop in McBride on our road trip and absolutely loved stay at The Lodge !
The rooms are clean, spacious and have real neat custom log furniture in them . The Lodge also has a small gym with an indoor rock climbing wall which was fun. The main room had a pool table and rock fireplace which we also enjoyed very much.

A superior little hotel! Clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Lovely log furniture and cozy duvets. The host was friendly and helpful. If you're travelling in the morning, the Petro Can next door has a great assortment of foods to start your day. A
wonderful find on highway 16 in BC!
We'll not stay anywhere else.

Was at The Lodge in McBride this past weekend to get my son after he had a vehicle accident. It was bitterly cold and Ray was beyond helpful, offering him food, checking in to be sure he was ok, storing gear & just being a wonderful person during a very stressful time. Highly recommend staying there, rooms are really comfortable with good amenities. I’m so grateful for your help and would love to go back under better circumstances. Thanks again for everything you did, it was so appreciated.
