This place is cold and inhospitable. Looks and smells like 1960. If you have a choice of staying at the Selkirk Inn or sleeping in your car, you may want to try sleeping in your car. Major advantage - Selkirk Inn is close to the “Lodge” where it is warm and friendly and you can get a good meal Ron Farrington Stayed here Sept 18/21
We stay for one night , more money than Best Western in Kelowna. Check out is 10am hours earlier than any other hotel. Window lock broke, no securities , 1960’s decor towel is really old like crusty , no food in the town open pass 8pm . This hotel needs updating or Lower prices . And here some Picture if use the dishes and you forgot to clean they will charge you . That’s ridiculous very poor service .
I was thankful to find space at the Selkirk after a long day of travel. The room was very clean and comfortable. It's well located with restaurants just a few blocks away. I would definitely stay here again.
i recalled this place from years ago when it was a draw, so returned recently... but now it seems to be run on a shoestring -- rather unfriendly service and welcome upon check-in set the tone -- superficially clean, yes, but bthrm faucets/appliances rust stained and caulking mold in the corners -- bare minimum of creature comforts in room and threadbare towels -- later, upon finding out there were rooms at the "leyland hotel", around the corner on broadway st (which also sports the best lakefront deck eating in nakusp, at lower prices than broadway st 'gastropubs'), immensely regretted having prepaid for my selkirk room; that eve stayed away as long as possible, slept, then left as quickly as possible
Arriving in Nakusp at 4pm, hotels were starting to get full. There were very few options available and so we decided on this place. Friendly staff. At first things looked nice and clean....and then we found the following: upon getting to our room, the door was ajar, hair on the sink, no coffee maker (due to covid we were told - although all other hotels have coffee makers), extra pillows are available if you get them from the front desk. So, i gave it a "below average" as there are definitely things that can be improved...but i would give them one more chance (only if i could not find another place).
