The bad: just about everything else. The room has old beds, the building itself very worn carpets, and there wasn't a microwave or fridge or even a hair dryer. The building has a great potential if refurbished, but at the moment, if you can book at a different building I would.
We were also looking forward to the hot pools, but only a couple of them were open and lineups were about 1.5-2hrs...very badly managed and it was so disappointing because unless you were willing to stand in line in the cold, you could not get in..
They advertise high speed internet with download speed sufficient to stream Netflix etc. My son and I both had work to do, so we signed up at $40 for a week, expecting what was advertised.......
Downloads speeds were terrible and we could barely access email. I contacted the provider who said that the part of the Pine Inn in which we were staying did not have a modem. Go Figure. The booking office at the resort were absolutely indifferent and did not offer to move us to a room which did fall under the wifi network, despite the fact that we had made an 8 night reservation, expecting fast and reliable internet and the resort appeared to be 2/3 full at most. The book-in clerk said I could walk down to the business centre and use their computer any time. In essence he could not have cared less, nor could his duty manager have cared less, citing the internet provider as a third party. Not good enough - we wanted to work in our room at night, from our laptops - not trapse half a mile to a crummy business centre. This, I believe amounts to false advertising. At least the provider offered to refund the $40. There are many ski resorts in and around BC. My experience at the Pine Inn has made me very unlikely to return. Lake Louise Inn costs about the same, but is in way better shape with far more attentive staff and infinitely better service. I've ski'd in many resorts in Western Canada and the US, and I doubt I'll ever come back despite the fact that it is really quite a nice ski hill. If you are thinking of coming to Panorama, and are looking for a cheaper option, go to Lake Louise instead. Or Fernie, or Big White. Or pay more for another hotel, and dont kid yourself about the "value" On the plus side, at least you wont be able to waste time on Facebook.
I've been trying to explain this situation to the hotel that the roads are closed.
First they promised to give back our money but they changed their mind for the following reason: "The hotel is open, so I'm able to go, no reason to cancel."
I really don't recommend this place at all, horrible service!

My only complaints would be that we weren't able to get hot water around 430pm when everyone was done on the mountain- possibly too many ppl wanting a hot shower? Either way it was hot in the morning!
I was also a little disappointed with the temperature of the hot tubs and hot pools - def not hot enough at all!
In a nutshell, it's basic. Stayed on 4th floor (lift serviced) overlooking the pistes and the Mile 1 quad chair, directly above the picnic cafe with the T Bar and Grill pub to skiers right.
Could be a bit noisy until the pub shut, but not any live of noise which would interrupt your evening or sleep.
Room had a coffee maker, fairly limited cupboard space, no fridge but bed comfortable and upper mezzanine floor also basic with double bed.
Rooms cleaned every other day or thereabout. Bathroom perfectly adequate. Very fast central heating - thermostat was being put down as quickly as it was put up after a day out skiing. heated up very quickly, but poorly insulated windows are not very draft prof nor very energy efficient.
There's no reception, but phone in rooms and direct dial to central check in/guest services if you need anything.
It's cheap, and it's cheerful. I have no time for people who book places like this and then moan about them. there are a range of accommodation options available. You get what you pay for. It doesn't pretend to be something more than it is, so if you want reasonably cheap accommodation with the slopes literally on your doorstep and aren;'t looking to be waited on hand and foot, but just want somewhere to dump your gear and crash, this is it.
If you want to lord it over others then look elsewhere.
I'd come back
