Great ocean front location. Yes the hotel is dated but you’re also not paying top dollar. Convenience of having a mall right across the street. Ac and fridge worked fine in the room. Once again steps from the beautiful ocean and walkway.John at the front desk gave us awesome personal service.would highly recommend this place. Unfortunately do to understaffing the hotel restaurant was closed as were many other businesses as our stay was on a Tuesday.

The Driftwood Inn is a 2.5 star motel in a 5 star location. It's wonderful to step outside the motel and be at the beach and ocean. There's a very nice walk along the waterfront, and you're across the street from a rec center, restaurants, a library, multiple stores, etc. The rooms are air conditioned, and the new flooring looks good. But there's minimal bedside power outlets and the tiny TV looks to be 20 years old. I get that people come to the Sunshine Coast for nature, but sometimes before bed you want to relax with a show. The staff were pleasant. As a whole, I'd give the property 3.5/5

With Covid, we weren’t expecting a whole lot and we weren’t shocked upon arrival. Called first and found out there wouldn’t be a coffee maker, cups etc. So we brought our own! The price was a little high for an October visit, however, we found that all hotels had not lowered their rates for the seasonal change. Overall the room was clean, we were given any extras ie towels for our room for the four of us. It was a convenient place with awesome restaurants nearby, shops and grocery store. The beach is right there and a walkway to see it all.

The location was excellent and the bed was comfy, however he hotel could definitely use some more cleaning. We checked in and due to covid we brought our own cleaning supplies to clean our suite just for our own peace of mind. I'm sure glad we did. The counter tops/surfaces were BROWN. We used the clean white towels for our wiping and were absolutely disgusted. It was as if a smoker was in the room, even though it was non-smoking. The floor had NOT been swept at ALL. We chose to keep our shoes on the entire time as barefoot walking was not possible. The cost was not worth the value of the hotel. Would not stay again.

Couldn't find a better location, right on the oceanfront and in the centre of town. But although they have discontinued some services like coffee machines in the rooms ostensibly due to Covid19 precautions, when I walked around in bare feet in the room, the bottoms of my feet were very quickly black -- suggesting the floors hadn't been properly cleaned in some time. Also saw other guests smoking on the grounds, which was annoying -- would hope that a full no-smoking policy throughout the property could be enforced.
