My wife and I had originally booked the Nikko cottage behind the house with a limited view of the water but since the Yuma suite with a direct view of the water was available Elaine kindly moved us to the Yuma suite as per our preference. The king side bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Elaine is extremely pleasant and a very accommodating host while respecting her guests privacy. She supplied us with a very detailed map of the Sunshine coast. We were very pleased with the Lighthouse pub and the more upscale but casual restaurant Entre deux Mers that she recommended. My wife and I highly recommend this place. Thank you Elaine.

We recently spent a few days at Takahashi Gardens and this is a 5+ star vacation spot. Elaine is by far the friendliest host we’ve encountered in our travels and every single item within the unit and property is incredibly well thought out. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the rooms are impeccably clean and well appointed with everything from extra blankets to a selection of coffees. The view is one of the best in Sechelt and the location is top notch. The private covered decks let you sit and enjoy the serenity in both sun & rain and relaxing in the private hot tub (one for each unit) was heavenly. I cannot say enough good things about Elaine and Takahashi Gardens. We are already planning our next stay.

The location, apartment, and host, Elaine, are all delightful! Sechelt shops and restaurants are a short drive or 25-minute walk away, so the only noise you'll hear is from nature or seaplanes taking off from the inlet. The water view over your morning coffee on the deck is fantastic. Elaine lives on site, and the apartment and grounds reveal her passion and attention to detail. Her communications are prompt and clear, and she knows the area very well. For us, this was a thoroughly enjoyable start to our BC vacation. Thank you, Takahashi Gardens and Elaine.

Stayed on a short solo vacation and had such a great time. Elaine is lovely and the suite was so comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches - snacks, teas, coffee, candles, a bear bell….

The views are amazing and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Nice linens and a selection of pillows to choose from. Cannot wait for my next visit!

The five-star reviews perfectly align with our experience. Peaceful, beautiful, and natural. We stayed in the cottage, soaked in the hot tub, slept like babies in the big comfy bed and took in the serenity surrounding us. We took wonderful host Elaine's advice and took an easy hike at Smuggler's Cove that created a healthy appetite and ate heartily at one of the many eateries she recommended. Every part of the name rings true; Takahashi is a lovely garden (even in winter) with a wonderful view where you can retreat from the noise and haste of city life.

My daughter and I stayed in the Nikko cottage and had a wonderful, relaxing three day stay. We were so pleased to find the resort is within walking distance to the seaplane terminal and downtown Sechelt. The cottage was equipped with everything a person would want on a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the private hot tub with a view of the bay. The bed was big and comfy, its extremely peaceful and quiet so we slept well. Elaine, the host is very friendly and accommodating. She made sure we had everything we desired, including play time with her dogs. I would definitely recommend this spot. It's truly beautiful.

The view from our suite and the hot tub on our deck at Takahashi Gardens was spectacular! Three days wasn't enough. We did not want to leave! Elaine is a wonderful host. She is always available to answer questions, and in our case, seemed to know exactly what we needed even before we had time to ask. Her recommendations for hikes and restaurants were also very helpful. We would definitely like to return.

Elaine is an awesome host. She makes sure that you are taken care of. Elaine provided us with a map and pointed out locations of interest we should check out. Great recommendations for hiking (walking in the woods) to see waterfall and coastline. Suite was comfortable with all amenities we needed. Best part was great pillows and high quality sheets, bed was comfortable. We stayed in Umi suite. The view from outside overlooking the water was nice and had same view from private hot tub. The property is very quiet and great place to get away from it all and just relax. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 3 nights at the Nikko Cottage, which was perfect. Has a limited but lovely water view, very private setting, and stocked with everything we needed. Private hot tub was great! Nice plush robes and slippers to wear to & from the hot tub. Our host Elaine was very accommodating and helpful. She gave us a map and made a few recommendations of restaurants etc. The grounds here are beautiful, and the views are amazing. Lovely to sit on the dock and watch all the action with seals, eagles, giant jelly fish. All this at a very reasonable cost! Can’t wait to come back.

Super clean and very quiet. Great patio and great hot tub. It felt secluded while also being just a short walk into town.

Elaine was a fantastic host that gave us lots of advice on how to make the most of our stay.

And Sechelt itself is beautiful.
