Stayed at Monashee motel for one night. On entering the room there was a musty stale odour, check the bed it had a mattress protector but on closer look there was a big stain on the mattress.
Open the fridge there was a smell coming from it.
The shower curtain was dirty and the shower head needs cleaning,
Overall for the price it's not worth it and the room needs updating.

Average older motel. Host was available quick and friendly. Rooms were somewhat clean. No wifi password in the room and couldn't be bothered to find the owner to get it. Would be nice if it was provided at check-in.

What left me with a poor experience is that I was looking for a cheap place to crash, got there late and tired and while paying at the check-in the machine asked me to tip... I have never been asked for a tip for a hotel or motel stay. Tired and feeling the pressure of the owner right in front of me I selected the lowest option (15%). What it did though was tip %15 on the motel night of ~$100 and another %15 on the $150 dollar refundable deposit. So a nearly $40 tip on a $100 room. Won't go bad as that left me feeling taken advantage of after I realized the next day.

Planned for a one night stop on our road trip to Alberta, and we are very happy with the clean comfortable room. Free parking and wifi add to the value. Room decor is dated, but the beds are comfortable with fresh linens and a good nights sleep was more important for our stay.

My husband and I stayed on a one night stop over, the room was clean however there was a funny musty odour in the room kept me up most of the night, the fridge also looked cleaned but again did not smell fresh when you open this.
Although there was a mattress protector on the bed there was visible strains on the mattress.
Very outdated needs a facelift.

Very hospitable and friendly, good rates and welcoming staff. They accommodated our unexpected extended stay and made sure we felt welcomed back. We will definitely stay there again even if rate was lower elsewhere.

This motel has charm and character, and is clearly on an improving trend. Its old-fashioned decor adds to the charm; the room and bathroom were clean and well decorated, the beds comfortable, and the garden well kept. It's a pretty building with a nice forested backdrop.

It makes a refreshing change from the usual chain motels. The Monashee does its job well of offering good value, clean accommodation and is only going to get better from what one sees of refurbishment work already underway.

There are no laundry facilities on site but there's an excellent laundromat a few hundred metres away. The golf club opposite offers Sunday brunch.

The only improvement I'd suggest is to ditch the powdered creamer offered with the coffee machine in favour of little pots of liquid milk/creamer.

I stayed here years ago, so thought I’d give it a try for a quick sleep stop on a road trip. The location is great for a road stop, located right on the TransCanada highway (yes, you can hear traffic noise).
Unfortunately, the room was not clean. One bed had dirty sheets, the bathroom floor had been washed, but no one had cleaned behind the door (layers of grime). I’d call this a ‘wear flip-flops at all times’ establishment. Next time, I’ll drive into town and skip the convenience of the highway location.

Stayed here in a busy weekend when the hotels in the area were filling up fast. Good value for money here. The room was clean, with carpet and flooring on the new side. The beds also felt new-ish and were comfortably not rock hard. The bathroom is in probably in need of an update, but was totally acceptable for the price we paid. I would have not issues staying here again.

This is not a modern motel. We found it clean and staff helpful. Was away from the road so was quiet.
We stayed there in 2013 noticed some renos had been done.
There is no continental breakfast offered which we got at another motel in Kamloops for a cheaper cost.
Always helps to have a bfast offered before one gets on the road
