Hotel's Favourite
What an incredible experience to stay at the Prestige Resort in Smithers BC. Every year I take my children for a spring vacation to ski at Hudson Bay Mountain. It was my first time staying at the Prestige. We stayed in a suite that had a separate bedroom. The living room and bedroom had stunning views of the mountains. I am a very light sleeper and had no issues sleeping - very quiet! The suite also had a kitchenette that allowed us to cook our own meals. We did dine for a few meals at the Noir Restaurant onsite and the food and service was excellent. I plan to stay here again next year!

The room was very comfortable but our Room #206 was an adjoining room.
I did let them know at check in and reservations they it was our 40th wedding Anniversary and they put us in an adjoining room.
That evening while we were a sleep we were awakened by the sound of the shower which sounded like it was in our room.
Then we could hear the television and banging around.
I suggest that when you check a couple in that you should never give them a room next to an adjoining room.
Otherwise our stay was not too bad 😎
Just a bit of customer service recommendations.
Also our check in agent also checked two different customers at the same time so no personal service right there.
September anniversary weekend❤️

During my last visit I was exceptionally pleased by the warm atmosphere and constant commitment by this location to improve and always provide great service. The lovely folks at the front desk and wonderful servers at the on site restaurant always aim to please. Polite, professional and I really like they take the time to remember peoples names who frequent here often. My last visit was Monday, February 8th and all staff were exceptional. I make a point to ensure I can always stay here when I have a night to stay in Smithers. The view of the ski hill from the parking lot is like a postcard.

Hotels that are 3 star should not be charging 250 per night for a small room with one bed in it. All the locals in the area keep this place going so why not have reasonable rates. I paid 250 in a 6 star in Vancouver that had a pool, 3 restaurants, a casino, and bell service. It doesn't add up in this hotel to charge that much.

Thanks for your review, Judy. Our rates are based upon the regional rates being offered and do vary by season. There are only a few suites in the hotel at the $250 rate. You may have been charged a $250 fully refundable pre-auth as a deposit on the room. Calling us direct to book also guarantees the lowest rate and we will match any online price. The hotel will be adding a complete pool/fitness center/spa complex in the near future. We would love to have the opportunity to provide you with the Prestige experience in the future.

We loved all your beautiful hanging baskets. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Room was absolutely perfect and super clean. Loved the sports pub on site! Breakfast was awesome considering they were short-staffed (something we experienced at the other seven hotels we stayed at on our trip). Although we were a Senior motorcycle group, I noticed you also had a lovely grass area for pet owners with dogs - a nice touch. Also loved your benches out front for some of us smokers. Everything was so thoughtful to make anyone's stay very enjoyable. Thank you! PS Reservation by phone was so easy and the person was very friendly.

Just received my third lousy meal in the restaurant. This hotel was recommended by my company as a place to stay but they later clarified it that they recommended it because it was close.
We used to laugh about the lumpy comforters and endless lobby renovations but I’ve had enough. After a long hard day at work I don’t feel like paying high prices for inedible food.
This 3rd meal was an all-time low, with multiple issues, and now I get to go to sleep hungry. Checking out in the morning. Not coming back.

This is a great hotel if you are planning a stay in Smithers. Our room was large, pleasant, and very comfortable. The room had a kitchenette with microwave, 2 burner stove, coffee maker and fridge. The bathroom was large and there was ample space to hang clothes. The decor throughout the hotel is welcoming and pleasing. The hotel has a pub that serves food as well as a nice restaurant. Value for dollar I would give this hotel a 5 out of 5. There is a large Safeway conveniently located just a few minutes walk across the street should you need any essentials. A 10-minute drive will take you to Lake Kathryn for a refreshing swim.

I feel I was overcharged for a two night accommodation, I was misinformed of the hours of Don Cherry's Grill and we were turned away before they were even closed for the night. The next day at dinner hour, the waitress needs to visit her friends on her own time, because I waited far to long because she was talking with another female at a table and had her back turned and it wasn't till her friend seen me and pointed at me that I was waiting to be served. I will Never stay at this over priced hotel again.

I am very sorry to hear of your disappointments while staying at the lodge. The food and beverage area of the operations has been under significant strain due to covid and staff shortages. We remain committed to excellent service. Thanks for your review and we will endeavor to make improvements in the area you pointed out. The rates at our hotel are commensurate with the regional hotel rates relative to the amenities we offer.

We checked into the handicap room and found only a bed, dresser, fridge and a single kitchen style chair. No microwave, table or desk. I am not sure how they expect two people to be comfortable in a space like that. Repeated requests to the front desk for more comfortable chairs was ignored. I would not stay there again.

The Smithers Prestige was an excellent stop for an overnight business trip. They helped us get a late reservation and treated us very well. The rooms were excellent to work in. The wifi worked really well and I was able to connect with my clients.
