Detailed Reviews
This hotel definitely is an older style with plain bedrooms/decor although I think ours was recently updated all in pine wood. We first had an older 2nd floor room which you had to walk down a very long hallway and drag your luggage up the stairs. When because of health issues I requested something downstairs, they accommodated us and that room was much better. Bed was good and room was very clean. Spent 4 nights there as we had a wedding to attend and spent a couple days touring around. As already noted, breakfast was very good (breads, cereals, pancakes, sausage, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee/juice, etc) with eggs done (by the friendly owner) to your liking. It's just across the road from the main street downtown with lots of eateries in walking distance. Look for the stork/nest on the roof!

Very simple no frills room. Only soap in bathroom so bring your shampoo. Bed isn’t great. Room is very dated but clean. Breakfast with eggs to order was served with a smile by a friendly employee. Location is good as you can walk to coffee or a meal in 4 min. Easy to get to location as well.

We had a quiet room on the first floor at the end of the house. Just as previously requested. Unfortunately, you could only see out the window on the canopy and the bleak backyard. The room was clean and completely wood panelled. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom perfectly adequate. Breakfast was not very sumptuous but ok. We could park our car free of charge in front of the house.
The location to the city center is immediate. You just have to cross the main road and the center of Smithers begins.
We felt very comfortable here.

Made to feel very welcome by the receptionist the moment we walked in. Great central location and free on site parking. Room very comfortable and warm. Endless tea and coffee available from the restaurant.
Does not serve dinner but plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
Breakfast included. A buffet with a good range of hot and cold choices, and your eggs freshly cooked to order.
Couldn’t fault anything.

This was a fabulous little gem to stop for the night. It reminded me of a quaint European chalet. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the AM you can choose from various menu items and eat in the common area or have delivered to your room. Absolutely would stay here again.

I stayed for 12 days for work. It was one of the best stays I have ever had. The room was very clean, the staff was so friendly and to have eggs cooked every morning to my liking was quite a treat. THANK YOU

Breakfast was good, our host gave us so many options to choose from, you definetely didn't leave hungry. The location is excellent, right next to the visitor's information centre. Our room was on the top floor, this was the biggest room we had in all of our roadtrip.

Had a good stay in this older hotel. Our room was comfortable, but dated. A smaller bathroom than what we've experienced on our holiday, but it was okay. Our room was quiet which was very much appreciated. Too bad one has to walk all the way to the end of a very long hall in order to take the stairs to the second floor. Breakfast was good with eggs made to your liking.
Overall, it was a good experience. We would stay there again.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the kindnesses shown our group by the proprietors of the Stork Nest Inn on our recent trip to Smithers. We were stranded in town for the day as our VIA train was delayed, delayed and delayed again. They offered us use of their lounge area for the day with gracious hospitality. I will definitely stay here again but I won’t come here on the train!
