We travel regularly for hockey so I always look for great deals and comfortable stays. Decided to give this quaint hostel a try and it certainly worked for our needs and the price was right. The owners are very pleasant and welcoming. The common space is clean, well kept and inviting. We had room 2 with a king and small sofa bed for two adults and one child. Unfortunately the pull out sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable for our young athlete, but we were able to beef it up with our own pillows and blanket and made do. My son and I really enjoyed the hot tub, which is open year round and is a real perk after a day at the rink. This place would be a great option for a couple wanting an affordable get away or for visitors to the local ski hill. It might be a little awkward getting used to shared space if you’re accustomed to the hotel experience, but we didn’t mind. Traveling sports families understand the value of staying in a place where you can prepare your own meals and the kitchen is well stocked with the tools you need. I recommend shopping at No Frills just down the street for even more savings!

We were able to check ourselves in late. A very nice surprise to have our own shower room & toilet room across from our bedroom, each with the same combo entry. Exceptionally clean, exceptionally comfortable, and well organized!! Caveat: We were told by the booking agency they accept pets, and discovered they Do Not! I’ll know next time to check with them directly. Very lovely family run business!!

We were two couples, stopping in Smithers for a family wedding. We stayed 4 nights in Rooms 2 and 3, with ensuites. We enjoyed the large guest kitchen, shared living room with big-screen tv, and the lovely deck with hot tub. It was nice to have a full-size fridge to share for our breakfast & lunch food. Our hosts, Wendy & Garrett, were so friendly, kind and helpful. They even gave us their carport parking spot so that my sister wouldn't have as far to walk on her crutches. They were so helpful with any extra requests, so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I also liked that the rooms had digital keypads instead of keys. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms very clean. The guesthouse was within walking distance of shopping, liquor store and the downtown area. It was a very enjoyable stay and we will stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Smithers Guesthouse over Christmas Dec 22-28,2018. Wendy was so friendly and accommodating!! We ordered a European Breakfats for the 3 of us which was an additional $45 but worth every Penny! The comfy and cosy feel of this place beats a hotel or motel any day!! We would definitely come back and we highly recommend it!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

I had a very comfortable stay. The owners are so friendly, make the place feel very homey. Sure made my transition to Smither's so much smoother. I originally planned to stay for 1/2 days, ended up staying for a week. The price is also very affordable in comparison to the standard hotel. Oh! And can't forget about the amazing view while relaxing in the hot tub. 10/10 would recommend!
