We stayed in sundance Lodge for 7 nights. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room service could have been better as our room wasn't cleaned all week and we had to chase staff to empty the bins and replace coffee and tea. The beds were very comfy. The kitchen area was basic - an airfryer would be really useful for heating meals and they are widely used and inexpensive. We really enjoyed the hot tub but we would have liked Bath robes to wear between the room and the tub. The hotel is very well located - great access to the slopes and we loved the Boracco bar and vertical cafe underneath the rooms.
Excellent location and probably the best ski in ski out in the village. Friendly and helpful staff and good sized room. However, although clean on arrival, after 3 days the room had not been cleaned again. After I complained, a cleaner appeared and asked what we wanted! The bathroom was never cleaned during the week and the room was only cleaned again if we asked. I don’t expect an AirBnb room to be cleaned, but then I thought I was in a hotel as I was paying hotel prices. There was a kitchenette in the room but a sign above the sink saying use of this was complimentary and if dirty dishes were left there would be a $25 charge for cleaning! This is very poor and the impression was that the hotel was run on a shoestring.
A disappointing trip to Sun Peaks. The Coast Sundance is attractive from the outside but very tired and in desperate need of upgrading in the interior. Doesn't look like anything's been done for 20+ years. There is no AC in the rooms, the doors squeaked, carpets were stained, mattress felt old. Bar attached to the hotel lobby was expensive and had slow service. We understand that most of the hospitality industry is short staffed but it would be helpful to warn patrons. It also would be helpful to tell their servers not to socialize to clientele they know; serve everyone.
Hotel staff were friendly and housekeeping tried to remove the insects but could not remove all of them. We were offered another room, but it also contained insects. Felt so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Learned that there is a problem with noseeums (biting midges) in the area and that they are so small they can crawl through window screens. I suggested the hotel buy smaller holes screens.
This hotel is in the heart of Sun Peaks and on the doorstep for the Retro Music Weekend. Underground parking was available and we did not need our car the entire stay, so felt safe to leave it there. Our room was comfortable, despite no air conditioning on a very warm day, we were able to open window and door for a good breeze. The bed was very comfortable. The full kitchen was well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel and Sun Peaks, in general, are very dog friendly and we appreciated we could leave our little dog in the room when necessary.
We had the best stay for my partners birthday. After finding out our dog Cooper couldn’t be looked after, we decided to bring him. The staff were more than accommodating. No AC but it cools down enough at night that an open window and fan is sufficient. Shay was so welcoming and friendly upon arrival. We were able to get some biking in, and even got to have dinner and patio drinks with Cooper right with us! We can’t wait to come back.
Perfect location and layout - the Bottoms Bar and Grill is attached to this property - very convenient. Proximity to all activities and venues at Sun Peaks is ideal; summer or winter. The staff were positive and fun - very good spot.
We stay here often not just because the location is phenomenal for the lifts (they’re literally outside the door) but the front desk staff go above and beyond. They make you feel like you’re family when you come in, they remember you by name , the little things you have shared with them over time, and always strive to ensure you are happy. Even during a heat wave, they email in advance to advise of the weather , offering to cancel in case as there isn’t AC (hint. There isn’t AC anywhere in sunpeaks so don’t shy from this hotel and look elsewhere. ) And if little things arise (sometimes they do.. like forgetting coffee filters, or having the unfortunate luck of finding a birdie after they have flown into a window; the staff handles it all with immense grace , kindness, and flawlessly. ). I wouldn’t hesitate to book here. …
Too hot to sleep no air conditioning. Tiny balcony. Unfortunately would not recommend. Why is there a 200 word minimum in this review I have nothing else to say other than what I just said above. One..more..word
the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, the view out our window was mountains so absolutely perfect! The weather there was sunny and warm, with lots of activities to keep busy with!
