Sun Peaks Lodge and the adjoining Sun Peaks Studios offer quaint studio rooms with a small kitchen equipped with stovetop, microwave, mini fridge, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, toaster, kettle, etc.,all the necessities to cook a meal. Rooms are clean, and very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is wicked good with lots of fresh variety to choose from. The food at the Steakhouse is always above par. The lodge is located smack dab in the centre of the Village Way which makes it an excellent choice to stay. There’s underground parking, storage room for ski gear and bikes and underground parking. The Stube Fondue restaurant is a must!!
Stayed here for one night and loved it. The hotel is situated in the centre of the village and therefore has easy access to restaurants and shops. Our room was clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Mario and Sylvia are excellent hosts. Would recommend without hesitation.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. We arrived as part of a tour and sadly at the end of thier season so a lot of restaurants and shops had closed. We found Masa's which did fab food . We were surprised at last orders at 8pm out by 9pm so not sure if that's all the time. Think definitely geared more for skiing than just passers by.
Tried calling them but could not get thru so left a message. Went on line and cancelled reservation thought all was good. Got a call after that informing me that the reservation had been cancelled and my card charged. When I questioned why I was told it is their policy to charge with less than 7 days notice. I said it is 5 days ahead of the booking but was told sorry there are no exceptions. I asked if the hotel was full at this time of year, was told it wasn’t my business. I asked to speak to this persons boss and was told “I am the manager and owner” basically I do as I please. I suggest not booking at this fly by night establishment as all they want is your money!
The Lodge is a wonderful historic building in the middle of the village where you are able to ski in and ski our right from the front door. We stayed in an apartment so that we had the extra space and were skiing the during first week in March so found it a wonderful spot to stay. It was close to the bottle shop, the chocolate shop and the supermarket. It was also surrounded by the pubs and restaurants. One of our favourite spots to stay in the village.
COVID has made all aspects of travel difficult but the one I didn't expect was the difficulty all the businesses were having in recruiting staff. Yes, we had to make a few compromises (reduced housekeeping etc.) but that's a small price to pay, given that we couldn't travel at all last winter. The Sun Peaks Lodge is highly recommended, and we would definitely stay there again. The room was great, the service from Mario, Sylvia & the staff was excellent (in very trying circumstances for them), the hotel has a hot tub, steam room & sauna & is totally ski in/out. The pre-booked continental breakfast was more than adequate, & we had the option to upgrade to a hot breakfast when we chose to. On top of all that we had arranged to get married at the Mid-mountain Chapel (owned by the hotel) & Sylvia was extremely generous with her help which was much appreciated given that we were arranging it from 5000 miles away! We look forward to returning, hopefully next winter.…
Highly recommend staying here! Very clean, well organized, fully stocked kitchenette and comfortable room. With an easy ski to lifts and close proximity to all village amenities, this is the place to stay!
The employees were very nice and welcoming. The housekeeping did an excellent job. Our room was always very clean. There’s a ski room in the garage with boot and mitten drying equipment. It is right at the heart of the village which was great!
Excellent location - ski in ski out with a ski locker downstairs. Great steam room, hot tub, and sauna. Good sized room. Problem was very poor housekeeping - we were there a week and nearly every day I had to call the front desk as the cleaners had missed something in their cleaning, had not replenished supplies etc.
The small lobby is warm and welcoming and the staff is top notch. My room had two queen beds, a small refrigerator and overlooked the ski run that comes right through the middle of the village. Bedding was very comfortable. The property has an indoor hot tub, secure ski storage with a boot drying rack & shelves for your shoes while you are out in the mountain. When you are ready to ski, just step out the lobby door, into your skis and ski through the village to the lift! The hotel has a two restaurants - a steakhouse with an amazing Brie and a fondue stube perfect for dining with friends or a romantic evening. I will definitely stay here again!
