Irene was kind and helpful and we loved the stunning lake views from our comfortable relaxing cabin at the Penguin Resort (penguins not included 😆). Great place to stay. Kayaks available to enjoy, swimming too, and a very welcoming atmosphere 🙂

Excellent place, we came across this site quite by chance on our way to the NWT and we loved it. The owners are wonderful, the place is magnificent, and we slept really well. So we stopped again on our return. In addition there are superb dream catchers in their shop, we bought 3 of them

I and my wife stayed only one night, but had we had more time, we would have stayed longer. See picture of cottage. The cottage was beautiful with all amenities and appliances. Falcon Lake a few yards away offered beautiful views. Hosts Irene and Ken were extremely hospitable and welcoming.

New owners doubled the rental cost with no new upgrades. They no longer supply firewood and charge a clean up fee. Not friendly and inviting like the previous owners. Would recommend searching around if your going to spend money on vacation you can get a better bang for your buck elsewhere like greenbay resort.

New owners and unfortunately not the same at all.
Customer service is non - exsistant.
You can not reach anyone if needed for cabin requirements. , no on-site services , wood not offered anymore. Office never open. Phone line does not work and email address is obsolete , web sites not accurate etc..etc..
With the increased prices decreased service and lack of any staff , unfortunately after 15 years of visiting this will be my last visit.

This place has and will always be a dump. It’s like a 1 star highway hotel on a beautiful hillside, don’t be fooled by the location. It’s gross. Cabins are run down, nothing works. Can’t believe anyone would rate this a 4 or even 5 star, it’s eww, plain eww.

Irene and Ken always make you feel at home. We rested easy about staying at Penguin even during Covid as their protocol for cleaning and safety are exemplary.
We have already booked for next summer. If you are reading this and are still on the fence about your 2021 vacation we suggest you don’t wait too long.
A big shout out to Gail and Tom and also Karen and Charlene ( spelling?) who are part of a well oiled machine.
See you next summer.....🏃🏻♀️🌞 🎣 🏊♀️

My wife and I spent two nights in Cabin 1 last weekend. It was small and quaint which was perfect for the two of us. It was our first time at Penguin Resort as we had to cancel our reservation the previous year. Irene was awesome and the resort had a great family friendly appeal. We will definitely be back!

What a beautiful place to be at! Very cozy atmosphere in the new and renovated cabins. Close to the beach, beautiful sunset and water!!
Amazing walking path close by. Playground on side, my children had so much fun. Will go there every summer now. Fell in love with that place. New owners are amazing and very loving folks!

What a beautiful place to stay! It was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are absolutely amazing! They were a big help when we had a few issues (not with the cabin) and are so sweet! We stayed in the winter but look forward to going back again to see it in each different season.
