Detailed Reviews

Much like the last reviewer, we were happy with our little getaway, but see so much potential in this cozy spot. A couple of trips to Ikea and a few upgrades could really make this place great.
The Upside: the owners couldn’t be more lovely, and have added things to make your stay fun and comfortable including access to games and books, comfortable courtyard seating and free firewood to name a few. It’s a perfect location and spot for families. Our 8-year old loved riding his bike around and playing at the park where we could see him easily. Everything was as clean and as well-kept as it could be for its age.
The downside: everything is past its prime. The flooring, beds and bedding desperately need replacing.
Saying that, We would go back. So much to do around the area, and more time spent outdoors than indoors anyhow!

My family and I had a good time during our stay at the Big Buffalo Resort. Overall it was quite clean, but there was a little bit of trash under one of the beds. The furnishings were simple and somewhat dated, but in fairly good condition. There kitchen supplies were limited, but we were able to work with what we had. There was also a nice central area with lots of seating, we enjoyed visiting and play games there in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Just stayed with my son and 2 other fellas for a golf get away.average is a little generous. The good: fantastic location, well kept courtyard with nice BBQs attractive set up with fire pits at each unit, really nice fun vibe. The couple running the place were great and seem to really take pride in it and really are keeping it as clean and nice as possible. Working with what they got. The bad: horribly outdated old rooms. Musty carpet, old beds, buckled walls, no tv, bad heat, etc. But kept clean. I am begging the owners to put $ into this place and update those rooms. Its the piece of the puzzle thats most important. Could be such a gem. I will pay more for my room if updated.. Its such a nice little resort that deserves more, much more. Literally no other competition in the area, at least in close vicinity. I won't say I was upset we stayed there because we had a blast, but wont hurry back unless its updated and renovated.

We went on a what we thought would be a nice get away in August. My husband, I and two daughters were out at the camp fire. It was a tad cold in the evening and the owner actually stripped the blanket off of our little girl. Shirley the owner requested we do not use it outdoors for fear of the blanket will get full of smoke.
This made me wonder if she washes the linens after use?!?! (everything is old and tattered and dated in the units by the way)
Anyway poor accommodations, terrible mean spirited owner. Don't waste your money.

Huge mistake, had to share barbecues, cut your own firewood with a dull saw, no where close to the lake and the owner is a miserable person. What a waste of money. They didn’t make you feel welcome at all, just a terrible experience. You are better off sleeping in your car

Tired and ready to rest after a long day, we stopped here for the night. So few choices at Falcon Lake. The price was $146.00 for one night...one of the priciest places we stayed in a month long trip. The cabin had no hot water to shower in the morning, not even a lousy box of kleenex. They allow people to saw wood at 10:30 at night for campfires! We had to yell out the window to tell them to stop it. Carpet filthy, steps uneven, shower so tiny you can hardly raise your hands to bathe, in the less than warm water. DO NOT STAY HERE! Never again...never recommended!

Perfect units for couples or families. Great playground for children. Beach across the road. Well appointed 2 bedroom units fully equipped with all of the necessities.
Owners John & Shirley were wonderful and very helpful in planning the rest of our trip. Perfect location for family reunions or weddings.

This place deserves a great review! Cabins nestled amongst the Pines and Birch Trees! Duplex Cabins each housing 2 bedrooms, 3 piece bathroom, living, dining area, chesterfield and a very well equipped kitchen! Full size fridge, stove, microwave, and all the items needed to cook meals! Air conditioner to cool you down on a hot and humid day!
A breeze way beside each cabin, with a picnic table and small fire pit, wood provided, and 2 large lawn chairs outside each cabin.
There is a central courtyard with a BBQ station, lovely patio furniture, tables, and more! Behind the office and the rear Cabins, is an area great for children, a giant sand box with all sorts of fun toys!
The owners are very accommodating, the office entrance has novels, games, toys and more! When here you are supplied with towels 2 times per week, kitchen towels, toilet paper and garbage bags! You can get fresh towels mid week! We rented for 7 days! Others pop in and stay a night or weekend!
You need to take your garbage to the provided off sight location, which is handy! Leave it tidy when you go! Cottage was super clean and no rowdy campers here!
You are almost directly across from Falcon Beach, a lovely short stroll to the town Centre, for groceries, meals, bakery, etc.
We loved this place, and would recommend to anyone! Cottages mouse free, clean and fresh sheets to sleep in at night! The best in the area!
Loved every moment!

We stayed for one night in June and had the best time! The cabins are clean and well stocked with everything you need. The play area in the middle of the resort was perfect for my 3 year old son to play, they had so many toys to keep him amused all day! The location is great, right in town and across the street from the lake. I will definitely be staying longer next time!

Had the pleasure of staying here this early summer. First, the grounds are kept immaculately. Playground is perfect for a family with small children. Flat and easy to get around, and so many toys to keep everyone engaged and occupied if you want time away from the beach. Kids are kept away from main traffic.
Second, cabin has everything you need for a stay away from home. Just bring your food and you’re good to go! 2 separate good sized rooms, and kitchen is super equipped. Appliances are newer, and beds are comfy.
Location is fantastic, right across from beach. And the water is not only potable, it’s fantastic! Great plus for a cabin getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again next year.
