We loved our stay a Falcon Trails. We were outdoors most of the time, but enjoyed curling up by the wood stove in the evenings. We enjoyed cross country skiing and hiking, and watching spring start to thaw the rock cliffs. There are abundant birds and wildlife, too.
Thanks to the managers for their warm welcome!

We stayed for 3 days in February 2021. The cabin was spotless when we arrived. Hot tub was clean and in good condition. Cabin location was amazing. Close to great hikes & had a great view of the lake.

I stayed here with my family in three separate cabins. Exquisitely beautiful and serene lakeside setting. Each cabin has a view through the trees onto Falcon Lake. Cabins were luxurious, very spacious and airy, with extra high ceilings, attractive wood panelling, and with a wood stove. The beds were very comfortable. There is also a private hot tub within an enclosed deck. Wonderful! For cooking, there is a choice of propane BBQ, open fire pit, or indoor kitchen. Staff were incredibly friendly. There also seem to be a multitude of activities around the resort (we chose to go canoe riding). The owners also make a sincere effort to be eco-friendly, which I appreciate. Here is the website: http://falcontrailsresort.com/ . I will definitely come here again some day.

My partner and I love staying in cabin resorts with great natural surroundings the provide relaxation and rejuvenation. We prefer those that offer privacy to guests and accessibility to scenery not commonly found in the city. Of all the resorts we've stayed in, Falcon trails was hands down the worst ever. We booked our cabin stay there with the understanding that the cabin itself and the private beach advertised would be accessibility for specific mobility challenges. Said accessibility and challenges were discussed at length for clarity. We were shocked when upon our arrival we discovered that we were completely misled. The welcome center itself is on an incline with only stairs to access it. The cabin that was recommended to suit our needs (Eagle) was at the bottom of a steep rocky terrain trail and the beach was out of reach for the same reason. Our hottub did not function properly and the cabin was completely infested with large black ants (walls, bed, kitchen counter, even the ceiling etc). We requested a refund and wished to leave but were only able to get 25% back and so we tried to stay on and bare it. Our cabin was sprayed with insecticide despite our request that it not be and one entire day included staff coming and going to kill ants and fuss with the hottub. Frustrated with lack of privacy and alternative options offered we did leave early in the end. (want to also mention that the small tv provided had horrible picture and color quality so there was literally nothing for us to do except kill bugs).

In a nutshell my wife and I have travelled extensively. Our trip to Falcon lake resort left us laughing at the fact they had the gall to call this a resort. If it were appropriately titled a hostel we'd have nothing to complain about and frankly we've both been to hostiles that treated their guests better. Bottom line is we simply should have left. The place had us on pins and needles as to how we were to keep it clean when in fact we cleaned and emptied a dirty dishwasher and unclogged a toilet before really settling in, never mind the floors! Almost every pot and pan was dirty with caked on egg or whathaveyou. The place hasn't been cleaned properly in some time. The real disappointment set in when after three mentions of the shotty hot tub not heating we got the vibe that we were simply a pain in their comfort zone and told, "oh well, it's an old hot tub". Which I am sure most would not accept. Never was any compensation offered in the form of a change in cottage or a minor refund (which is status quo anywhere the word resort is used). We were told there was a hot tub that could be used but truth be told that was not acceptable as we paid for a cottage with a private hot tub, that is why we chose this location. And know this, the only real reason I am sharing this experience is because of the way this was handled. If more empathy and professionalism was displayed this would be a none issue however it is my feeling that this hot tub has been an issue more than once. Again, not the customers problem. We tried the jacuzzi tub but the slime balls that shot out of the jets made the two of us gag just enough to barely notice that it runs about as loud as a airplane! Furthermore we them moved our efforts to attempting to utilize the community sauna. After being told that we would have to fire it up (no issue there, we've both warmed more than a few saunas) we hiked down the slope only to spend our time cleaning it up of cans and other unmentionable trash which ultimately sent us on our way.

All in all, these guys have no idea how to handle their own problems, let alone the ones they're creating for guests. Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Stayed at the High Lake cabins again (my second time around) and loved it. It's a true get-away with nothing to listen to but the bird calls and the waves lapping at the shore. Would go back in a heart beat!!

My husband, dog and I stayed for two nights a few weeks ago during the week. The trip was just what we needed and more. It is located less than two hours from Winnipeg and was a perfect getaway. The cabin was beautiful and clean and so comfortable. It was everything you could ask for and more, The back deck had a great hot tub and BBQ and overlooked the lake. They had complementary canoes and the staff were so friendly and warm. At night it was so peaceful and we even got to see the Northern Lights :). The trails were great for hiking and I recommend this for all who are looking for a getaway in nature while still having all the comforts of home and more,

This beautiful Resort is located on the shores of Falcon Lake in The Whiteshell Provincial Park. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful AND beautiful getaway, then Falcon Trails Resort is for you! All cabins are Lake front with spectacular views! You must walk a short distance from the parking lot to your bcabin so even more privacy and quiet is guaranteed! We were just there in January and Toboggans were provided to "haul in your supplies"! Each cabin is fully furnished...complete kitchen,Microwave, Coffee Maker etc.. wood burning stove, TV (for DVD only), BBQ. A HUGE deck/verandah also boasts a Hot Tub. It may have been -35C, but, we still went in!

The staff are most friendly and helpful Special thanks to Janine, Linda & Maurita for taking such good care for us...and the kind gentlemen whose job it was to check the Hot Tub every day in -30 weather...brrrr! The Office is open 24 hrs for those who may want to borrow movies, books or simply refill the bag of bird seed that is provided upon arrival. We had much enjoyment from watching the many birds (birdbook & wild flower books are provided) and especially that cheeky little Chipmunk!

Falcon Trails Resort was a great little Winter Holiday for us. We will definitely be back in the Summer!

Initially thought it was too pricey for our family, but got a good deal due to a last-minute cancellation. After our stay would be willing to pay full price to stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cabin had everything we needed. Access to private hot tub was wonderful. It is *not* a jacuzzi-tub that you fill up yourself, but a hot tub that is filled and hot and ready to use when you arrive.

Beautiful location, free use of canoes. Many places to explore with kids on foot and by canoe.

Captain's ladder or stairs not the most child-friendly (nor, I imagine, elderly friendly).

Not wheelchair accessible, because of the natural terrain.

Me and my wife stayed three nights in late September at the Juniper Eco cabin with our two kids aged 11 years and 17 months. We're an avid outdoors activity family. To get to the Chalet where you check in, you drive past the privately owned Falcon Lake cabins 10 km on a winding gravel road surrounded by boreal forest. A beautiful fall ride when the foliage has blossomed. Once we checked in at the main chalet, we were assisted with loading our gear into a trailer of an ATV. Being a four person family with a baby, we have quite a bit of gear. We were a little worried because they charge $25 for any additional trips in. Luckily the ramshackle trailer had more than enough room.

It's a 2.5km trail to the Eco cabins which we decided to bike. The path is a mix of gravel with some bigger stones, loose gravel and packed earth. Lots of uphills and therefore downhills as well. The downhills are pretty exhilarating but be prepared to get off your bike and walk up a few uphills as they can be quite steep to tackle on bike. The trail as a whole is definitely a workout for any skill level of rider. But fun as well. There's a number of marked and unmarked trails that branch off the main one that make for excellent exploring. What's more adventurous than taking a trail that you have no idea where it goes?

We arrived at out cabin and our gear arrived shortly after. The cabin itself is very nice, spacious and clean. Propane fridge and stove. Compost toilets. Most utensils needed for cooking are provided. Water is in a reserve tank and is gravity fed so it is possible to run out of water. You then have to contact the staff and they'll refill it. The tank lasted our family of four the whole three nights. Good selection of books and a few old board games and puzzles upstairs in case you really get bored. Wood burning stove with tons of complimentary wood. No tv in this cabin which we thought was very nice. Big screened in deck with a smaller open deck attached. Canoe a available for use whenever you want at your private dock. There's a sauna that is open for use to the three cabins that are in the area. It's essentially a small log building with a wood burning stove. So you light a fire and let it warm up for a hour or so before use.

There's a nice stereo system that you can use for radio or CD's. They left a few of the CD's from a couple bands that play regularly during the winter at the ski hill. Very nice to hear some local talent and the genre of music is just perfect for the setting.

The view of the lake is amazing and the whole lake side of the cabin is windows so you get the view in all major rooms. We never saw anyone on the lake the whole weekend. I think it's too remote to access conveniently so you basically have the lake to yourself. You go to sleep with a moonlight view and wake up to the sight of the glorious sunrise. Absolutely gorgeous.

We found the staff pleasant and the owner as well. We never had any problems though so I couldn't comment on their problem solving abilities as one reviewer did. We just had a blast and will definitely be returning.

Hello there! No, none of our rental cabins have air conditioning but they do all come equipped with a desk-top fan for each bed and an overhead fan in the main room. Our suggestion to guests to help cope with those hot summer days is to close all windows during the day and open them at night. Plus there is always jumping the lake! The private beaches are sandy, naturally made and maintained. Our Loon, Merganser, and Eagle cabins each have their own private beach sections. Most of the sand is in the water but there is a grassy area that is well maintained and cut regularly for guests to spread out their beach gear on. They are the perfect spot for young kids to swim in. There are also many amazing beaches in the area to check out while you are here that are just a short drive away. Hopefully this helps give you an understanding! :)

Hey klokwerks! Thanks for the inquiry. The free wifi is available at our Welcome Centre building only, where our lobby and Owl Wing Rental Suit are located. There is not free wifi in any of the other cabins but guests have access to the Welcome Centre Lobby 24/7 if they need to come and check their email or do some internet work.

Hello Rachel! No, the High Lake cabins do not have hot tubs as they operate off the grid on solar power. Heating an electric hot tub would be too much draw on our solar power systems as we have them set up. There is however a shared sauna available to our guests who stay out at High Lake! It is a beautiful, hand-crafted log structure and sits right by the water's edge. All of our Falcon Lake Cabins have their own private hot tub in a screened in porch (Sunrise, Mountain Maple, White Pine, Tamarack, Sunset, Owl Wing, Boreal, Merlin, Eagle, Merganser, and Loon). Hope that helps! Caleigh Christie
