This hotel has the strangest smell ever. After dusting off the t.v., it is to be noted that the hallways are filthy (2nd floor). If you don't have to go to Morris - don't.

From the person who took my reservation to the staff behind the counter, there was no aspect of customer service. They appeared to be disinterested. This "attitude" prevailed from check in to check out.
Unfortunately they are the only hotel in town...and it shows

Was attending a family function near Morris and decided to get a hotel room before starting the drive back to the USA. Check in was easy and the front desk person was friendly. The room was clean but dated. The furniture and the comforters looked older than me. The towels in the bathroom were thread bare. The vent in the bathroom was askew(see pic). When we returned at night there was almost no parking in the parking lot. Breakfast is available and the breakfast room was clean and a decent size but we did not eat there was we wanted Tim Horton's, which is close by. Check out was easy and again the front desk person was friendly. With some updates this could be a decent hotel.

They lost our reservation so we got put in another room. We walked in the room and it smelt like the stampede had set up shop the night before with the smell of horse do do, the sheets stained yellow and dust every where. All we needed was some barbed wire to line the the room and I'd feel like I was out in my grandpa's cow pasture.

On December 10, we attended the Morris Hockey tournament we booked rooms at the Morris Stampede Inn. We arrived and checked into our room, which had a smell of some kind. Did not have time at this point to look around and when to the rink for my son’s game. We arrived back at the room after supper and the smell was still there but just thought that it was just an old hotel smell, boy was I wrong. After looking around, I found dirt behind the bathroom door along with dirty towels. My son opened the nightstand to find garbage and a try of rotten rice and chicken balls with mold and MOVING RICE the smell was terrible. Seeing it was late at night and there was no ware else to stay they move us to a different room. The next day management would do very little to in the way of customer service.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTLE TO STAY IN IT IS VERY DIRT AND THE MANAGEMENT HAS TERRIBLE COSTOMER SERVICE. TAKE MY ADVICE AND DRIVE TO WINNIPEG !!!!!!!

in Feb i had a business meeting in Morris, the company i was working for had a co-program with super 8, so I stayed there, although the reviews i saw were not so good. However, I really need to prove this was wrong. the service they provided there was excellent, I only need to focus on the business target I was there for. plus the room is big and clean.

Upon arriving there is a smell to the front lobby. Went to the room which was supposed to be a suite - smell to the room; food, wrappers, garbage on the floor; hair all over the shower along with the shower all scratched so it looked dirty; shower also looked liked someone had smeared feces all over; hair on the sink area; sheets on the one bed were all wrinkled (not sure if they were actually clean); only one tv when it was suppose to be a suite; one of the windows had no screen or lock (keep in mind the room was ground level); complained and were first told that they were booked up; went for something to eat, came back and had some cancellations so we were able to change rooms. Second room smelled like pee but the shower was a little cleaner; moved pillows prior to going to bed and found hair all over (clean sheets I think not); took shower looked at towels only one was clean while other had black marks all over it; breakfast was something to be desired - basically toast and some cereal - the front desk attendant never came to check on everything - we had to go to her to ask for more milk, and coffee; the jam was also hard (thinking that it was old?). Service was not the greatest - would never stay here nor recommend it to my worst enemy - will definately drive a little further for Winnipeg. Over priced for what it offers - room should be free!!!

HOTEL:
Morris Stampede Inn
400 Main Street
Morris, MB, Canada R0G 1K0
www.morrisstampedeinn.com

There are two hotels in Morris, MB, a small town south of Winnipeg on the way to the U.S. Border. Cold, tired, hungry, and annoyed with Winnipeg’s unkind rush hour traffic, we pulled into the Morris Stampede Inn.

Lynn greeted us. She was courteous, helpful and friendly, and had no problem contacting the owner about moving us when our first pet room smelled of cigarettes. Our new room was fresh, big and clean, and again, no bed bugs. When it was time for dinner, it was too cold (-29 degrees F) to leave Mr. Pish in the car while we ate, so we opted for take-out to bring back to the room. Lynn recommended Kam Loon just down the street. Again, she came through for us!

I recall being disappointed in the morning when I didn’t get to say good-bye to Lynn. So, if you stay at the Morris Stampede Inn, please tell her we say hi!

We stayed for two nights for business. The place is obviously not a spanking new modern looking hotel but it is what you can expect from a decent country side motel, nice clean rooms, friendly service, and a good laughter. They went above and beyond when my car stopped on the highway, making sure that we were looked after.

We arrived in Morris during a winter storm, the highways were closed, so we went to the Morris Stampede Inn as a last resort. They gave us their last room and told us they were bringing in chicken soup from the Chicken Chef. We stayed there three hours until the roads were open. Before we left, we had some soup and a roll, which was very tasty. There was no charge! Said that was what they do! Awesome! Wonderful people!
