Charming family-run inn located in the small fishing village of Alma. Located directly across the street from the active Alma fishing harbour, rooms with Bay views overlooking the harbour are available. We offer free wifi throughout the property and free guest parking is available at the back of our building. This property previously run as a B&B, has recently been updated with newly renovated ensuite bathrooms, furnishings, and much more to make your stay with us that much more comfortable. Being such a small accommodations (with only 8 rooms) we strive to bring our guests that "home away from home" feeling while they're staying with us. Our inn also offers a guest television room, great for guests traveling that are more social or are traveling with family members staying in other rooms. While we do not have 24-hour front desk service, there is always someone on our property looking forward to answering any questions our guests may have, as well as give great travelling tips and suggestions. A contact phone number is given to all guests to reach a staff member when no one is at the front desk. All restaurants and shops located in Alma are within a short walking distance of the Captain's inn, along with the Alma beach and Fundy National Park. We have many great restaurants in our small area that will be eager to serve you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also have a bakeshop, 2 seafood markets, a micro-brewery, a café, and a general store located in the village. The staff at Captain's Inn looks forward to greeting you during your upcoming visit.

My wife & I wanted to do some hiking in Fundy National Park but we aren't campers so just looking for a bed, clean room, with a bathroom in the room. The young lady at the front desk was extremely courteous & helpful.
At least 7 great places to eat/drink within a 5-10 minute walk, gas/grocery next door, fridge in the room. TV connected to Bell satellite but limited options (basic channels).
No A/C but there is a nice breeze off the water in the evening and we were fine (end of July, high 20's low 30C through the day).
As mentioned elsewhere, no longer a B&B so no food service but again, lots of places to eat.
All in all, nothing fancy but not expensive, just what we needed for what we were there to do (hike the trails in Fundy).
we would stay again.

Location is great, rooms are clean, bed was a little harder then what I’m use too but it worked. No A/C but we opened all 3 windows & turned on 2 of the ceiling fans & the room was nice & cool from the breeze off the ocean

The Village of Alma is a hidden gem in New Brunswick and the Captain's Inn puts you at the heart of it all. Very friendly owner and owner's greater family set my husband up to catch fish. Great meal at Muddy Rudder next door, also connected to ownership. Room was clean and quiet. Comfortable bed.

Room Tip: The location can't be beat. A small building, so get your room booked early. Incredible value.

This place was amazing, the family that owns this amazing house is very welcoming. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back, looking forward to more stories and the best sticky buns ever.

My husband & I stayed at the Captain's Inn for 4 nights. Our stay started really great because we arrived and found a small bottle of wine and an anniversary card waiting for us. I had mentioned our anniversary when I asked about booking a nice restaurant to have a celebratory anniversary meal. I didn’t think the owner would have noted that, but she did.
This was our first stay at a B&B and we left there feeling that we would definitely stay at B&B's again. Elsie and her family were very friendly, but not intrusive. We felt that we got to know her and her family but only because we felt free to ask questions. I'm quite sure that had we not wanted it to get that personal, we would have had that wish respected. And, what a sense of humour! We had some great laughs.
The inn, itself, is cute and very clean. It's nice and quiet, too. There are 8 rooms but we never heard any of the other guests. This was a very welcoming place with two separate living rooms (or den/family rooms) for guests to lounge in. If you sit in the screened in porch or on the veranda, you can watch the tides rise and fall. There are actually two rooms that have that view and we had one of them. When we left, Elsie gave us a small box of chocolates and then sent a thank you note a few weeks later. What class!
If you are going to Alma, I greatly recommend the Captain's Inn. Tell them “the Raspberries” recommended it!

My husband and I stayed here in the fall (during off season for tourism in Alma) and we really enjoyed it. The bed and breakfast is right across the street from the famous docks where boats sit on the bottom of the ocean floor; which can be great if your interested in the local business of lobster fishing... but if you don't sleep well with noise, get a back room because it's a bit loud when the fishermen come in to the docks. I personally would say the commotion was worth it because it was a really unique experience. The owners actually have a fishing boat and work in the industry, so if you want to learn more about lobster fishing then talk to your hosts! I have stayed in enough bed and breakfasts to say this was my favorite experience and definitely the most friendly one. Perfect location, great breakfast and friendly service, we would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

We were here for 2 nights, 22-24 Aug during a 3 week tour of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & PEI, and really enjoyed our stay. Graham and Terri were very welcoming, and made us feel at home. The room was bright, airy and comfortable, the kitchen is available to guests, which was great as we do like our tea! Breakfast was very good and a lovely opportunity to chat to other visitors. The location is perfect, as there is a lot to offer in Alma by way of good restaurants, as well as access to the Fundy National Park, and a good stopping point on the way to Hopewell Rocks. We were able to listen to some local folk music at the Rising Tides Festival, canoe at a nearby lake and visit the beautiful Cape Enrage. We would love to return one day!

This restaurant has been around for several years and is very popular. Dress can go either way, casual or dressy. Thursday night is Prime Rib night, a large buffet that includes dessert. Otherwise mostly seafood with a few chicken and pasta dinners as well. The owner is there often making sure things are going smoothly and customers are happy.

I've stayed at the Captain's Inn on several prior trips to Fundy National Park and loved it, so I was curious to see if much had changed after the previous owners sold the property a few years ago. I'm pleased to say that it's still a great place to stay in Alma. It's somewhat different in some ways; it's not quite a traditional B&B serving a hot breakfast anymore but instead features a self-serve continental breakfast. Although I missed the wonderful meals from my prior trips the new system works for me too, and I liked being able to sleep in a bit without missing breakfast. I liked the new TV lounge with the ginormous flat-screen hi-def TV. The inn is a fantastic value and I don't think there are better accommodations for the price in Alma. Graham and Terri were wonderful hosts and the room was clean and comfortable just as before. The location in Alma is excellent and numerous shopping and dining options are within a few minutes' walk. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back the next time I'm in Alma.
