Charming family-run inn located in the small fishing village of Alma. Located directly across the street from the active Alma fishing harbour, rooms with Bay views overlooking the harbour are available. We offer free wifi throughout the property and free guest parking is available at the back of our building. This property previously run as a B&B, has recently been updated with newly renovated ensuite bathrooms, furnishings, and much more to make your stay with us that much more comfortable. Being such a small accommodations (with only 8 rooms) we strive to bring our guests that "home away from home" feeling while they're staying with us. Our inn also offers a guest television room, great for guests traveling that are more social or are traveling with family members staying in other rooms. While we do not have 24-hour front desk service, there is always someone on our property looking forward to answering any questions our guests may have, as well as give great travelling tips and suggestions. A contact phone number is given to all guests to reach a staff member when no one is at the front desk. All restaurants and shops located in Alma are within a short walking distance of the Captain's inn, along with the Alma beach and Fundy National Park. We have many great restaurants in our small area that will be eager to serve you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also have a bakeshop, 2 seafood markets, a micro-brewery, a café, and a general store located in the village. The staff at Captain's Inn looks forward to greeting you during your upcoming visit.

I have never previously felt compelled to write a review whilst staying in any accomodation.
I totally agree with the previous review. Either the guests in the room above are showering and flushing the toilet constantly or there is a communal bathroom with guests consistently paying a visit or maybe the main water tank is above our room. I really do hope that that this does not continue throughout the night. We are also next to the self service kitchen, sincerely hoping we do not have any early risers staying at Captains Inn tonight.

This B&B is a sweet little inn across from the water and I was charmed by it from the moment I walked in. The place is very homely and decorated nicely, the kitchen has a full stock of breakfast foods and all day coffee. The rooms were very clean and so comfortable. I slept the best in this place than any of the others on my trip through the maritimes. The owner, Terri, is fantastic and incredibly accommodating. I definitely recommend it!

.....So, my fault that I didn't really realize that this is not a hotel at all, but a B & B. As part of a road trip, we were more accustomed to a larger bathroom and the room we were in was quite small. So, if you picture a bedroom in someone's house with a small bathroom then that is more of what is here (sink was in the bedroom area). Also, as a traveler we didn't realize that the whole town is under a BOIL WATER order and so only bottled water is to be used (which the Inn provides). Back home, I looked up this "boil water" situation to find that it has been in place off and on for several years. We probably would have looked for another location altogether. It IS convenient to the Fundy National Forest. The BEST thing about this stay was the seafood chowder at the restaurant run by the hotel's owner located next door (we were told he had just taken over this restaurant). The breakfast is disappointing in that it is self-help without much to work with. The family was friendly. While we enjoyed shopping and eating in Alma, we probably would choose to spend the night in another town. PS There is a major construction project going on across the street in front of the harbor at this time. Not very scenic from your window. (Of course, out of the control of the Innkeepers.)

It was late in the day & we were caught without a place to stay when we saw the Captain's Inn. The owner could not have been nicer, he was about to go home for the night but gave us a room with a view & then went home & brought us back dinner to cook on the grill as there were no food stores or restaurants open after 5! Wow! He also brought us breakfast of ham & eggs & bread! We used the kitchen & the grill. Thanks you. This was late April, basically off season.

We stayed here 1 night with family of 8. It was a last minute booking. The front desk staff was very kind and accommodated us best to her ability. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was simple but good. The eating area was nice with big windows.
The inn is located closed to Fundy National Park. They do have a dog living at the Inn.
All in all our whole family was happy with our stay.

The best thing about Captain's Inn was the staff. They were kind and helpful and accommodated everything we needed. We asked for a late checkout so we could come back and shower after kayaking, and could not have been more gracious in facilitating this for us. Breakfast is a "help yourself" continental buffet, with fruit, coffee, cereal, granola bars, muffins, etc. Room was basic, bed was not terribly comfortable, but friendly and helpful staff were such a plus that we would return. Great location too.

I've stayed at the Captains Inn several times many years ago. This visit was totally different as it had a new owner of 14 months. Terri had the place totally renovated. Gone was the quaint clutter and country look to be replaced with modern leather furniture and a living room with theater chairs and a 80 inch TV. The place had a totally different look and feel to it which we found pleasing. Terri was a great host. Friendly and accommodating. We will go back and stay in room 8 with a great view of the fishing boats and of course the wharf.

Had the pleasure of staying here a couple of nights in August....Very nice comfortable clean Inn...Friendly owners......Has everything you would need......1/2 hour from Cape Enrage Lighthouse...about 1/2 hour from Hopewell Rocks, but you can see high tide and low tide right from the Inn......Fishing dock right across the road ...Restaurant across the road and one right next door, plus more....close to Fundy National Park...Just loved it here...will definitely stay here again

I stayed here with my extended family. It is basic and so clean which was really appreciated as this is a one road town that you hit to see those amazing tidal changes in the Bay of Fundy. We were in rooms 1, 2 & 8 -- all were nice & clean. Breakfast was provided by the hotel across the street which is what the innkeeper does when it is fully occupied as her kitchen is too small to accommodate. Great place!

We found the room very homey, and the sisters who own the place very helpful and friendly, but not in your face. The kitchen is available in the evening for coffee, tea or hot chocolate, if you want it, and they served us a great hot breakfast the next morning. They had a HUGE flat screen TV, the size of one wall, for watching movies or TV in a separate living room, and although we weren't there long enough to take advantage of it, my husband now wants one that size at home! It was conveniently located literally next door to many restaurants and a lovely scenic drive to Hopewell Rocks, about 40-50 minutes along the coast. One thing to remember, if you do have CAA, don't forget to mention it. We didn't notice until after we'd paid the bill that a discount was offered with a membership, and didn't get our $5 off.
