Detailed Reviews

My husband and I stayed for one night as a stop-over between Charlottetown and Quebec City, after spending the day exploring Kouchibouguac National Park and the Acadian Coast. We were delighted with the whole experience. The B & B is located near the Lord Beaverbrook House historical site, near a small downtown area with shops and restaurants, and close to Ritchie Wharf. We weren't in Miramichi for very long so couldn't take advantage of the fishing and other outdoor activities it is known for. The hostess, Sara, is able to offer great advice to visitors and to customize travel experiences. The B&B hosts cooking classes and mystery dinners which are popular. The heritage house is beautifully restored, decorated and maintained. There is a lovely yard, porch and sitting room for guests to use. We were in the smallest room, but it was perfect with comfortable twin beds, an immaculate full bathroom, a good TV and Wi-Fi. We peeked into the other larger rooms and they were spacious and beautifully furnished. Sara graciously provided an early delicious breakfast for our early departure. We highly recommend the King George Bed and Breakfast and have fond memories of our time there.

I'm a little late writing this as it was a month ago but we went to New Brunswick to visit family and found this B&B online. We prefer B&B's over chain type hotels. It was pretty easy to find. It's very charming and cozy. Well decorated and the room was very cute, quaint. Lots of towels, blankets, bed was very comfy. A lot of tv channels and the wi-fi was good, I was able to get some work done, without any issues. The negatives: I have bad allergies, specifically to strong scents/perfumes. The bed linen had a very strong smell of laundry detergent or fabric softener and it was off putting. Had me sneezing all night. Not wanting to sound overdramatic but truthfully, the scent was so strong that I could still smell it on my PJs when we got home. With so many people today with sensitivities to scents etc perhaps it's best the owner stop using it and make it unscented like other places? Sarah, the owner was a pleasant friendly lady but a tad too talkative. Second negative: We were very tired and really didn't feel up to talking so much. She tends to talk a lot about herself and we found it a bit much at times - but maybe it was just her way of making her guests feel welcome? The other negative, was the breakfast. Not great, very small, in fact not much at all. Good coffee. We ended up going to have a real breakfast an hour later, somewhere else. If none of the above negatives would bother you, then you would enjoy this B&B.

So sorry about the fabric scent issue, and we have taken action and eliminated it entirely from all bed linens and towels. Had we been aware you were not satisfied with the quantity of your breakfast, we would have been more than happy to offer you more.

Upon our arrival we experienced a warm and cordial welcome. We slept in the King George room. Very comfortable bed, spacious and well appointed room. Due to an emergency back home, we left before breakfast so unable to comment. Already prepared for the morning meal however, the table settings were most elegant as was the beautiful old style dining room.

Easy to find. Gay friendly. Walking distance from water, food and activities. We stayed in the Duchess Suite on the ground floor room with access to a lovely garden. It is mentioned nowhere but there seems to be a full bar accessible upon request. There is also afternoon Tea.

We saw this place as we drove past on our way to the Howard Johnson. Needless to say we did not stay at the HJ, but instead called up last minute and stayed here instead. The rooms were beautiful, much nicer than a lot of more expensive hotels we have stayed in recently, and the owner was extremely nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

Our expectations of Miramichi were not high but Sara got us off to a good start with a warm welcome to the beautifully-restored King George: in an excellent location in easy walking distance to the (limited) local dining options. But, in the end, we had a very funny night with some locals at Chatters, followed by a memorable breakfast. My King George room was a delight.

This B & B was exceptional! The greeting we received when we arrived was so friendly. Our suite was
large and beautiful with a nice patio right out our door. The linens were of the highest quality and there were plenty of towels and everything else you might need for a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, we were only able
to stay one night. The breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully. We would love to come back!
Thank you both for making our stay so special.

A beautiful refurbished home. King room is so comfortable, spacious and the bed is like sleeping on air. Sarah is very accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts' she serves are delicious and plentiful and the table setting is very nice which compliments her hardy breakfast.

Although we only stayed one night we enjoyed our visit. Sara made us feel very welcome in her beautiful house. Even though the room we stayed on was the smallest bedroom it was nonetheless adequate for our stay. The range of toiletries provided in our bathroom was as good as in any hotel. The breakfast was large and delicious.

We had an enjoyable stay with Sara.
I was a little concerned when the front entryway looked like a storage area and the linen iron was by the door but everything was wonderful. The linens were very nice with soft bathrobes available. Everything was very clean. Sara was friendly and provided a very nice breakfast. We enjoyed the other visitors. The location was perfect.
