Room was clean, didn't have the expected racket from hockey tournament kids, BUT loud Heating/AC unit (common in many hotels for some reason) and loud fridge alternated to waken us a lot. Didn't know about the "free hot breakfast" when I picked this place but was looking forward to a nice breakfast in the beautiful dining room we remembered. The cold powdered eggs and retherm sausages didn't measure up, sorry. Fundy Line's resto to the rescue on day 2. To be fair, travellers' kids probably aren't interested in fish cakes, beans, eggs over easy etc and the free brekkie also has cereals, bagels, tea, coffee, juice etc. The evening dining specials looked quite interesting but we did not have a chance to try. One concern was the shower head and tub spout moving about on flexible pipe. The money saved on a professional install may come back to bite? ( I am not a plumber btw)

First the good- the pool, restaurant, and ice/vending are convenient to the rooms, and easy to find. The pool was small but pretty easy to get into and had towels at the pool plus a large changing area. However for the rest of it... I arrived in a torrential downpour and had spent some time in my car securing my cell phone/wallet in a plastic bag in the bottom compartment of my backpack so it would not get wet. Despite being a platinum member and having pre checked in, I still had to spent time digging my wallet out of my soaked backpack to provide ID and a credit card. Not sure what the benefit IS of being platinum, and pre checking in to avoid this hassle. I had to put my dripping backpack on their check in counter because I can't bend over long periods due to vertigo. When I arrived the toilet had the blue cleaning gel still in it . I did not report this as I had to use the bathroom immediately on entering the room so I just flushed it away as the toilet overall looked clean. The internet was intermittent which meant that I never got the QR code with the hotel info to actually load. The desk chair was tiny and cheap and did not roll easily. Late at night I found that this was because one of the 10 chair casters (2 per chair leg) was GONE and another was broken in half. I looked around under the bed and dresser to see if the missing one was there but it was not. I went to the restaurant and had a less than stellar experience there, I hate meat on the bone so when I ordered a jerk chicken BREAST I did not expect it to have bones as there were other options of a leg or whole half chicken. I ended up asking for takeout box so I could take it back to my room & let it cool down so I could separate the bones from the meat. This is specific to me, one of my ND traits is texture issues. However their response showed that they did not care in the least, and also don't have takeout utensils!!! So I went back to the room and ate chips to fill up. I think it should indicate on the menu that it is not boneless. I was also expecting something actually hot for jerk chicken but it was not so. Overall it tastes good as I am eating it at home today. Then reception did not tell me breakfast ended at 930, I was sure they said 10 but they were probably not listening and were just re-answering my question about when the pool closed. As I was unable to open the hotel info QR site, I didn't find this info, but I thought I knew the answer from check in, so I didn't feel the need to ask. So I missed that too. Front desk was more interested in confirming my email for checking me out than listening. No reaction when I handed them the broken chair caster.

Dear Travelodge Guest, I thank you for taking your time out to share your feedback with us. I apologize for not being able to deliver the best experience, please accept my sincerest apologies for that. I could very well understand where you are coming from, but asking IDs is a necessary task we all are required to do to be on the safe side. I was there when my staff was checking you in and i did remember that she asked you not to worry about showing the ID right away by keeping your situation in mind, and she mentioned that you could show it later on, so i think she was just following the safety procedures which everyone should follow. I do apologize for the blue chemical in the toilet, but that was also one of the cleaning procedure which we follow and leave the chemical in the bowl purposely after flushing the disinfected water. I do apologize for the internet, it was giving us trouble that day, so i am truly very sorry for that. We were able to resolve that issue the next day. I would like to pass my sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you may have faced in the restaurant. The restaurant is independently owned but i would be happy to share your feedback with them so that they are aware of this. I am truly very sorry for the confusion for the breakfast timing, it could very well be possible that there was some miscommunication, but we do have breakfast timing written on the key card envelopes too. I am feeling terrible that you have faced many inconveniences throughout your stay; I hope we can get another chance to fix all the issues you have encountered to give you positive experience. I truly apologize from the bottom of my heart for everything you went through. I truly hope to get another chance. You please take care of yourself, and truly hope to see you again. Thank you so much for sharing your concern with us and we will work hard to fix all that was mentioned. Take care ! :) Regards, Nia Parekh 506-622-0302

A beautiful hotel on the river. It looks like that this hotel went under many updates recently. I was very much content with my room. It was super clean, really quiet even though they were full. The staff were really knowledgeable and friendly; they would go above and beyond to make your stay most comfortable. The breakfast was very efficient with many choices like eggs, sausages, cereals, bread, muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice etc. the new restaurant was amazing. I enjoyed the beautiful river view from the patio while eating my supper.
I must share my personal experience here, and it is very important in my opinion. I have been coming to Miramichi on a business trip from last few weeks, and i noticed that a hotel named Ramada had around $100 rate one time and it was over $400 another time and every other hotels were sold out. I still decided to call all the other hotels in town including Travelodge hotel and this hotel had this last room available and they gave it to me for $149. If they asked over $200 i would have paid at that time but instead they kept it very reasonable. I was really happy to see their loyalty towards their guests since they are not thinking of taking advantage others situation by ripping people off. I am sure that loyalty goes long way. The only reason i am sharing this experience here because i noticed that one reviewer mentioned about Ramada, so thought i share my observation on a price hike from very low to very high for Ramada.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I will definitely be back again. Thank you for your great hospitality.

I have been staying here since 2020 when I started fishing on the Miramichi. The Hotel is in a convenient location and has easy access to the parking lot. It is easy to park my vehicle and boat and also plugs to charge my boat batteries. From my first stay, I found the Owners to be very accommodating and helpful and friendly. I found they take their business seriously. For example last spring I booked a room(king bed). I received a call from the Owner asking if I booked a king bed as I usually book two beds. He said he just wanted to make sure I reserved the right room. The rooms are comfortable and now they have updated the rooms they are even better. They now have a restaurant with good food and excellent staff. They look after their customers and supply excellent service.

This is a wonderful hotel/motel right on the Miramichi River, indoor swimming pool, with a beautiful deck off the pool, the rooms were very well maintained, the restaurant, while privately owned and operated, increases the value of the lodge, expotentially as the service, bar, and restaurant was fantastic. As for the lodge's staff, frontend was so helpful and knowledgable of the area, made you feel like you were visiting family instead of a lodge. Maintenance and seervice staff were wonderful, and friendly. We would recommend the Travellodge in the Miramichi for you next visit to the area, fantastic fishing by the way, whether for business or family vacation.

This hotel is located in a deserted industrial park, and the toilets plug. The parking lot and surrounding area make it good for big trucks.

Go somewhere else,

I do not normally write reviews, but it is needed here. The receptionist was really good, friendly and professional. That is the only good for this hotel. This place is filthy. unbelievably filthy, the hallways carpets are encrusted in dirt and the room carpets are nearly as bad. The rooms smell and you need to keep the temperature setting cold, to reduce the smell. The toilet was plugged upon arrival and I cleared it with a plunger supplied, it plugged up again on the next use. Then we found out that it had been plugged many times before and was scheduled to be replaced next day. What, why did you rent out the room at all? This hotel is old and the floor is sagging, I doubt that changing the toilet is going to fix the problem.

Hennessy restaurant, of this location, served Raw chicken wings. Bleeding raw. They took the plate away and brought fish and chips. We paid full price, the waiter was good but.

Dear Kevin, Hope you are doing great. I apologize for the delay in responding to your feedback. I would like to pass my sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you may have faced during your stay. I am saddened to hear about the toilet issue; i am truly very sorry. I am also glad to hear that my staff was able to move you in another room at the earliest convenience. I am sure there must be some miscommunication, so I would like to mention that the toilet was not defective from the beginning at all; and it was not schedule to be changed due to any issue. We have done a major renovation in the entire hotel and lastly we are renovating the washrooms currently but had to stop it during the summer time. We have changed many toilets in the hotel already before the summer and we have bought new toilets for each and every room, so that's the reason we got it replaced when we heard about the issue from you because it was on our to do list due to the ongoing washroom renovations. I agree with you about the hallway carpet and that is also being replaced very very soon as we already bought it but juts waiting for some quiet time, but i must say that the room carpets are also brand newly replaced just last few months ago and we do shampoo it on regular bases, so not sure what happened there, but since you brought your concern to our attention, we will definitely look into that. I apologize for the inconveniences you may have faced in the restaurant, and i will surely share your concern with the restaurant owner as it is independently owned. Thank you for staying with us. We truly hope to get another chance to welcome you back. Please take care and have a wonderful day. :) Regards, Nia Parekh

I will start by saying that the staff who checked us in were very nice. We arrived a day early and they were able to change our reservation for us. I think they may have been the owners.
We booked his online and the hotel “looked” fine. The hotel is located beside an old bridge that has been closed off. It’s also covered with some choice spray painted slogans….which was our view from the window. So it’s affectively on a dead end street. Kind of a sketchy part of town.

The lobby was fine….so we thought ok….just a bad location.
Unfortunately, whatever renovations were done in this place are really poor.
The laminate flooring has gaps and the moulding around it is a toe injury waiting to happen. The bathroom was nasty…I think a complete tub/shower surround was placed over the old one…literally holes where hand rail should be and old taps, tile in the floor was poorly repaired and the baseboard was dirty. Pictures attached
The hotel restaurant was cheap…everything on the menu was $8. I had the fish tacos…one over cooked piece of boxed fish, some kind of slaw and lots of sauce, the hamburger was also over cooked and really not good. When the waitress asked how the meal was….with 1 1/2 of my tacos left on the plate. I told her they were not good and she responded by telling me that was strange because they were one of the best sellers. I asked for club Soda and lime. I was told they didn’t have club Soda but soda water. Served in an old mason jar with a dried out lime stuck in the side. Sorry but I just can’t recommend this place in any way….other than to say the check in staff really tried. They even offered to carry our luggage upstairs as there is no elevator.

We left as soon as possible and skipped the complimentary breakfast. Just couldn’t do it.

Dear Travelodge Guest, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Travelodge by Wyndham Miramichi New Brunswick. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Your feedback is very important to us. The renovation is not completed in that room yet since it started to get busier so we couldnt complete wooden flooring and washrooms in some rooms and your room was one of that; I apologize for that dear. Unfortunately, the restaurant is independently owned and operated but i apologize for the inconveniences you have faced. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent any future occurrences. Here at Travelodge, we continuously strive to meet your needs and expectations. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Sincerely, Nia Parekh

Oh where do I start? Let's start with the DANGEROUS, NOT TO CODE wiring of the heater/cooler. The photo validates the point. The front desk solution to the problem, "we will look into it".
On many occasions the toilet would not flush, even with just fluid down it. The response from the front desk was actually that bad it was funny. When I asked about a maintenance person being on site I was told, "no we don't have one. Now here is the funny part. The receptionist bent down below the counter and then produced a plunger. That would appear to be a regular thing if they had one literally at hand. The photo showing the inside of the cistern makes your mind boggle.
A good thing is that the new restaurant/bar has opened. Wrong. My wife and I ordered food to eat in our room at 6:50pm. After 3 trips to the restaurant to check on it's whereabouts, at 8:30pm we were still without food. The owner of the restaurant blamed the lack of opened days for the delay. (That is why you have soft openings).
The restaurant has a huge impact on the amount of people who visited the location. Great for the restaurant and bar goers. Bad for the people staying at the Travel Lodge.
On returning from our days adventures we found it next to impossible to find anywhere to park. Cars were even parked outside your room window obstructing your river view.
Please, if you are looking for a relaxing no nonsense place to stay in Miramichi, try somewhere else. I wish I had done.

Response from Nia Parekh, Owner at Travelodge by Wyndham Miramichi New Brunswick
Responded Aug 20, 2022
Dear Allan, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Travelodge by Wyndham Miramichi New Brunswick. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Your feedback is very important to us. I apologize for any inconveniences you may have faced during your stay. We are renovating our washrooms at this moment and also changing everything in the room including all the furniture, electrical fixtures, microwaves, Refrigerators, light fixtures etc., in near future; hopefully we would be done by the end of October. I think there is some misunderstanding when you asked about a maintenance personnel, and my staff replied "no we don't have one", we absolutely have a maintenance personnel since it is a necessary position a hotel must have, but he might not be there when you inquired about him, so its a matter of timing i guess. The plunger was definitely within a reach of the front desk just because our maintenance room is just at the back of the office, but definitely not underneath the desk. I think having a plunger on hand is not a sign of defective or old toilets; it is a sign of how efficiently you want to help a guest without wasting time if something would to happen since a brand new toilet could also get clogged at any point of time; i think it is a difference in point of views. I apologize for the car parked by your room window; i am sure it belongs to the restaurant staff, and i am sure they only park there for drop off or pick up services. If by any chance, if it was there for a longer period of time, and if you would have informed our staff then they would have got it moved from there; I hope you did that. We have an extremely large parking lot, but i apologize if you faced any difficulties finding a parking spot, and i hope you found one, sorry. They are keeping quite busy, so i truly am very sorry for the delay in getting your food; if i am not wrong, they are informing everyone of the possible wait times; not sure they informed you or not, but in either case, i am very sorry for that. I am glad to notice that you have stayed five days with us; thank you for your business.

I stayed in the King suite in March, and let me tell you the pictures online don't do it justice! My room was essentially two rooms. There was one room with a couch, chair, desk, and whirlpool tub, and on the other side of the french door, there was a king size bed, and the bathroom. Both rooms had a tv, and there was a fire place that went between the two sides. It's worth the upgrade. I had a great view of the water. (Ask for the very last room upstairs)

We actually have a restaurant inside of the hotel! There is Sobeys that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the Wal-mart is about a 15 minute drive. As for the restaurants, there is a couple of them that are about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel! Thank you!
