My wife and I along with 5 other couples reserved an evening of fine dining at the Governor's Mansion and were not disappointed. We were served a three course meal in their licensed restaurant and were given choice among entrees and the main course selection of duck or salmon. The house chef has garnered a well deserved positive reputation among... More

This home is supposedly the last of the lumber Barron's homes in the region. As a wooden structure on the water, outside upkeep must be a struggle--however inside is a historical museum. Queen Elizabeth stayed here and you can book her suite, eat at the same table she did, and actually use furniture that belongs in a museum. Mike, the... More

My wife and i just spent one October evening at the Governor's Mansion Inn in Miramichi New Brunswick. Simply a goreous historical Inn that is not to be missed. Don't even consider a Best Western or Holiday Inn.....no comparison! The charm and the exquisite decor from the times when the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick lived there. This 130 year old... We booked this on our way to Miramichi as it was our stopover on the way to the Gaspe. We got there and were shown our room. It was old. The wallpaper is ugly and peeling from the walls. The toilet and shower are literally in a cupboard. If you were really overweight you would be hard pressed to get... More

We were on our way back from a transcontinental motorcycle trip and rode for a long time in sleeting rain. Governor's mansion and Mike were a VERY welcome site. The house has a lot of history and has BEAUTIFUL museum like rooms! Mike's son ( and his friend) was charming and very personable. Room was outstanding!!! We felt dwarfed with... More

Stayed here for one night in my way to Kouchibouguac Park which is half an hour away. I stayed in the Lord Beaverbrook room, which was huge and extremely comfortable, as well as interesting. Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Was given the option of continental or full breakfast in the morning - the continental was more than... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2016. We stayed in the Lady Governors room, which was a high main room, however the bathroom was a little bit of a squeeze, fitting in the under stair area a toilet and a shower cubicle, with the sink being in the main room. (obviously difficult to house bathrooms in such an... More

We would have loved to stay for another day and for a dinner at the mansion. We just left this morning and I couldn't wait to share what a lovely time we had. The house is full of stories, history and lovely antiques; our room (The Lord Beaverbrook) was spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed; and Mike is a gracious, knowledgeable... More

We had the pleasure of sleeping in the "servant's quarters" at the Governor's Mansion. It was a very comfortable suite at the back of the house, with it's own porch and historic style. Very fun! Our host also explained the interesting history or the house and island across from it.
