My wife and I stayed at Annie's Landing for 2 nights in August and were blown away by the hospitality, level of service and like new condition and the work craftsmanship of the room that we stayed in. I've never seen a building building so well finished. No need for white silicon to hide gaps when everything sits tight and flush. The baked bread left in the room was superb and lasted less than a minute and I can't say enough about the cleanliness of the suite. A superb stay which my wife and I will always remember fondly of.
We had a great reception upon arrival, with fresh bread and homemade jam waiting on the table. It was an excellent location, very central. Extremely clean, modern with everything provided for a weekend away - great views and lovely hosts.
We enjoyed our stay at Annie's Landing. Lovely accommodations with everything you could possibly need. Perfect location to visit all the sites nearby, close to restaurants and shops and the beautiful harbor.
Annie's Landing is a real gem. From the point of first contact with Lorraine I knew this was going to be a highlight of our trip to NL from an accomodations perspective... and IT WAS! Before we had even left for our trip Lorraine contacted us to let us know about an event at the local Garrick theatre. We decided to take advantage of htis local event and see some local talent... it was wonderful. We wouldnt have had the opportunity to get tickets were it not for Lorraine thinking about her future guests! That depicts the kind of people Stan and Lorraine are -Terrific hosts who clearly live the "Annie's Landing mantra" of service by doing whatever they can to make your experience with them in Bonavista a wonderul one. The self contained salt box was really well equipped with everything we needed. Fresh baked bread and homemade jam was there waiting for us upon arrival. When we think of NL or describe parts of our trip to friends ...the stay at Annie's landing gets top billing! Thank you both for making our time in Bonavista special.…
We are from Vancouver British Columbia and we were on a 15 day road trip from Gander to St. Anthony. This is our last leg before flying out from Gander. We stayed at 6 different places and Lorraine and Stan's home was by far the most incredible place we stayed. I am a picky person and I could not make one solitary recommendation to improve the hosts or their rental. It had high end tasteful decor while feeling homey and personal. I wish we could have taken this exact unit on all our journey. We made awesome dinners in the fully equipped kitchen with quality new pots and dishes and stemware, then enjoyed the supplied homemade jam, chocolates and home made bread. This rental was the only one that had all the condiments from dry goods to ketchup, relish, butter etc.The beds and pillows so comfy, thick hotel quality towels, luxury house coats ,hair towel turban, earth friendly soaps, shampoo, sewing kit, basic first aid kit, ceiling fan over beds , binoculars, shower with grab rail and seat, free laundry facility to use , . I give them 100 percent on everything.Thank you so much for making our trip so special. You were lovely people and thanks for the special gift of halibut since we could not get any fresh seafood ,you knew that was important to us and you ensured we got some. You both were truly the nicest and most Informative hosts we met in Newfoundland. Best Regards Michelle and Colin…
I'm so happy we found this 1bedroom cottage. It was super clean, great location and excellent amenities (well stocked kitchen, Homemade bread and jam left for our breakfast, fluffy bath robes for those cold mornings, nice electric fireplace providing warm ambience, lovely balcony with a stream below). It maybe hard to book as there are only 2 cottages but well worth it if you can find space. Owners are a lovely couple who pride themselves on customer service. Even loaned me their binoculars for berg and puffin watching!
Annie's Landing is a very special place, steeped in family history. Lorraine and Stan are born hosts, the most welcoming we have ever met, and we wish we could have spent more time with them. They gave us great tips for hiking, shopping and eating as well as insight into local life. As for the suite, it was absolutely perfect right down to the tiniest detail: tastefully decorated, equipped with everything one could possibly want, very comfortable and homey, with a great bed, too. And I wish I could make jam like Lorraine's! Many many thanks.
Already the arrival was very special. It felt like coming home and Lorraine and Stan were very hepful and supportive with everything we needed, even opening up the lobsters we had received as a gift. Very good beds, a fully equipped kitchen, good grill on the small terrace, good airconditioning on the warm days and good heating during the one cold day we had. Very well located for the visit to the lighthouse, the Dungeons and the hiking trail at the coast. Swimming was possible in Elliston, where there is a small beach. If in the area again we would definitely come back.
There are a few times that I'd like to give more than 5/5 and this is one of them. We arrived and were warmly greeted by the owners, who gave us tons a great information on the area. We then checked into the immaculate one bedroom suite. This place is beautiful and high end in every detail. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom modern and the kitchen top notch. They also allow you to do your laundry for free and their is a Keurig with coffee in the unit. The property is also located near "downtown," a large park for the kids and a bunch of the area's attractions. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Bonavista.
For a small town the restaurants and site seeing was spectacular. We visited the salt shop, the boreal restaurant the dungeon , craft stores, and just enjoyed being able to walk from annies to all. The town was alive with tourists from different parts of Canada as well as the states. We met many people during their travels and they were so amazed by the beauty
