Upon our arrival to this lovely bed and breakfast, we were greeted by Maggie, the owner. Her smile, friendliness and charm made us feel welcome immediately. Lakeview is exactly what we envisioned a bed and breakfast in Newfoundland to be. Guests sitting around the living room chatting away as if they had known each other forever. Maggie engaging in conversation with everyone and sharing stories with the guests. The rooms were clean and each had a bathroom with shower. Towels and shampoo were provided. My teenage son had his own room next to ours which he loved. Breakfast of french toast with blueberries and sausage was served by Maggie in the morning. It was a wonderful place to end our vacation in Newfoundland. Thank you Maggie for your hospitality and kindness.

My only complaint regarding this place, relative to doing a review, is that Trip Advisor doesn't allow me to give 6 Stars out of 5, because if ever there was a deserving B&B, and a deserving host, it's this place and host Margaret (Maggie).

Big house with many bedrooms, ALL of which have been re-modelled to have their own bathroom. All are spacious (even the "small" one), immaculate, and very convenient. Even that one thing that usually causes issues at places, a lack of power outlets, is well thought out there.

Maggie is unbelievable! She's no rookie at this, and it shows! A more gracious and accommodating host I've never met. Oh, and the breakfast she prepares.... ASSURES you that you will not leave for the day hungry.

If, by chance, you're looking for somewhere to stay in Deer Lake, perhaps as a base for visiting L'anse aux Meadows, or Gros Morne National Park, or other places in or around the region, I can't offer a higher recommendation than Lakeview Bed and Breakfast. Go stay with Maggie.... you'll be DELIGHTED that you did!

We enjoyed our one night stay with Maggie. She's a wonderful host and as far as I'm concerned we got the best room, with our own entrance.
Loved to be able to relax inma recliner in the living room, and enjoyed the view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious, scrambled eggs, ham and toast, there were other options too.

Margaret is a great host, she even drove us to get cod and chips as we couldn't get a rental car till the next day. Nice clean rooms with use of living room, dining room and back patio with views of the lake. Breakfasts were the best with home made jams and marmalades, her French toast and soda bread was delicious. Will definitely visit with Margaret again.

Warm reception, clean spacious room. Best breakfast of our vacation! Home made jam, marmalade and Irish Soda bread , in addition to delicious French toast and blue berry sauce. Margaret is a warm and gracious host. Also a great patio with a view for afternoon glass of wine.

We were greeted by Margaret McDonald who greeted us with such a warm welcome. The house is spotless and very tastefully decorated. She even had a delicious breakfast for us at 7am because we had to drive to St. Barbe to get the ferry to Labrador. We had a very nice evening relaxing in her beautiful living room. The bed was so comfortable. My only regret is that we didn’t go there during the summer when the weather was warm so that we could relax on her beautiful patio. Margaret, Thanks for such a wonderful night. We will certainly be back again soon.

Just home from a 3 night stay at Lakeview B&B! What an awesome experience! A home away from home environment!

Maggie does everything to ensure you feel welcome and you have everything you need.

A lovely breakfast every morning with a special touch of a homemade tea bun!

It was so interesting to sit around the table and chat with people visiting from other provinces and countries!

The rooms are clean, equipped with your own private bathroom!

Maggie was very attentive and just a pleasure to spend time having a chat with!

If I find myself back on the west coast I know where I will be staying!!

We had a great stay at Lakeview B&B. It is very conveniently located off the highway and a perfect place to stay before heading into Gros Morne. Our room was so cozy and just what we wanted after a long day of driving. Margaret was very accommodating with our late arrival and made our delicious breakfast early for us so we could get on the road first thing! This is a great spot and I would highly recommend!

Can’t say enough good about our stay at Lakeview Bed and Breakfast. Such a lovely place of rest. We were only there for 2 days, but would have loved to have stayed longer. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make your stay comfortable and carefree. Breakfast is simple, but simply delicious and includes special touches like home made jams and buns.

Margaret is such a sweetheart ❤️ Caring, friendly and fun. She’s also a wealth of knowledge and is able to fill you in on all the best things to see and do in the area and beyond. I wish she was my next door neighbour - I’m certain we’d be friends.

One last little note ~ Mary Brown may have the best legs in town, but Margaret definitely has the best buns in town!! 😄

We highly recommend and look forward to next time.

We had an incredible experience at Maggie’s Lakeview B&B! Our room was very private, spotless, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. I have to eat gluten free and Maggie met my dietary needs as requested. Maggie went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and to make our stay a memorable one. I would recommend her place to anyone!
