I just loved staying in this little gem across from the ocean. Everything you need is provided! Just bring food, clothes and a beach towel. Nancy is a wonderful and kind host , and I really enjoyed exploring the area. Lots of walking trails and the drive to salvage is stunning. Although I travelled alone, this is also a great place for families, as they have larger cabins as well. Cheers and enjoy!
Comfortable and exceptionally clean cabins. Well appointed kitchens suitable for self-catering. Very quiet location suitable for children. Approximately 3 min walk to Eastport beach and a five minute drive to Sandy Beach. Friendly management .
We just got back from a lovely weekend at White Sails cabins. We rented the one bedroom it was so adorable small but very cozy and great for two people. Simple adorable little cabin with great amenities with a deck and bbq. The area is absolutely beautiful and the owners are the nicest people. We had a great weekend and Eastport beach is just across the road. Thanks
The Old Floated Salt Box house is painted a sunny yellow and is easy to spot on the road out of Eastport towards Salvage. The house has been beautifully renovated in bright colors and tastefully furnished and has everything you need for your stay. Most importantly the bed is super comfortable. The sandy beach across the road from the main Inn and cabins is one of the best in the area. The hosts Nancy and Shane are welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. This was one of the best short breaks we have had. I would highly recommend this part of Newfoundland and Nancy and Shane’s hospitality.
Cabins are older but exceptionally well maintained, very clean and reasonably priced. The cabins are set in a field directly across the road from Eastport Beach. A nice choice for families with children. The kitchen has everything you'd need.
We recently were vacationing in Newfoundland, with no clear agenda. We had rented a car and were touring around the beautiful peninsula coastlines. As evening approached on our last night there we drove past the White Sails establishment situated right across from a gorgeous stretch of beach. There we were met by Nancy who was so warm, friendly and accommodating— and made us genuinely feel welcome. We settled on Cabin 6, a sweet little home away from home. Nancy even went to the extra effort to book us dinner reservations at the Inn in the neighbouring town of Happy Adventure. A perfect ending to our wonderful adventures in NL. Great value at this sweet spot. Thanks Nancy!
The sunny yellow exterior make the salt box so welcoming, and impossible to miss driving up the Eastport Peninsula. Entering the house, with two decks(!), one on the main floor and one on the second floor, you instantly feel like you have stepped inside a functional and infinitely charming piece of folk art. There is a small kitchen with modern appliances, a living area with electric fireplace and flat screen TV, internet, wireless, dinner table, and a bookcase full of great reading material and some games. Everything you need. Upstairs is the beautiful bedroom, bathroom and sitting area. The attention to detail is phenomenal, with charming colour scheme and furnishings throughout. You have to see it to believe it! I have to reiterate this: the house is truly like stepping into an idyllic, lovingly crafted work of art. Nancy and Shane are two of the kindest, friendliest people you could hope to meet, and their profound love for animals was something that we have a strong affinity for. We wished we had booked a longer stay, but are hoping to return next year for an extended visit. I hope that they are not booked up when I call. I really can't say enough about this portion of our vacation in Newfoundland. If you have a chance to stay at the Salt Box House as guests of Nancy and Shane, you will have an unforgettable experience, and I absolutely recommend this. We had the overwhelming desire to return as soon as we left.…
We recently stayed here on our family vacation to Eastport. I really can't say enough good things about the accommodations and hospitality. If you are considering staying somewhere else please give this place a chance. We rented the house which has three good sized bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and large living room. It had bookshelves full of books and games to keep the kids busy. Nancy was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat and things to do. This was by far the best bang for the buck I've ever had vacationing in Newfoundland.
We loved our stop here. Accommodation was good but what was best was Nancy and her wonderful hospitality. She let us use washer and hung clothes on line. She booked out dinner reservation at a great restaurant-Happy Adventure Inn. When we cooked she supplied things we needed(eg-spices) She told us of the Salvage Trails which were our favourite hikes in all of Nfld. To top it off she told us about the sunrise which was spectacular!
White sails is your number 1 spot on the eastport peninsula. I come every year and I truly love it. Nancy and Shane are very friendly and if you need anything they are there. Very clean and nice. The staff does an awesome cleaning job. The beach is across the road literally. I HIGHLY Recommend White sails it's the best. Other places along the peninsula not so nice. So believe me when I say white sails as number 1.
