This hotel, just like the town, could use a little renovation. It is a fine location but the beds were old and uncomfortable. There is a musty old smell in the rooms and hallway. The dining room seemed ok, but we did not eat there.

I am reviewing the restaurant only. Our table for 12 was waiting when we arrived. the dining room was quiet, clean, warm & comfortable. The meals were served without delay once everyone had arrived. The server was pleasant and efficient. I ordered pan fried cod with mashed potatoes and it was well prepared and tasty.

Pros.....Clean, comfortable bed, spacious room, free wifi (excellent reception) Cons.....OLD, tired, and musty smelling. (I lit candles) The other thing that surprised me, they had a few bookings our last night there, and the kitchen was closed for maintance, I have never heard of that. The restaurant did have decent meals, and it really was 70's retro, but if you...

Sadly this hotel is in need of a major renovation and because of that you don't get to appreciate its history and charm. It was clean and to say the staff was friendly would be an understatement. I would certainly stay ther again.

This is by no means a place that I will stay at again. The room is extreemly dated, but it was clean and over cleaned with disinfectant. When we walked in the room the smell of disinfectant cleaner was so strong, it actually hurt my lungs. We turned on a small fan that was in the room and that seamed...

Stayed in the Motel part of the hotel. Room was fine although tired looking. Could have done with a revamp, but it was cleaned every day and fresh towels every day. Not the best we have stayed in but satisfactory for a 2 1/2 star place.

There's bugs... heater is broken. No water pressure. Stains in carpet. Terrible service. TV out of date. Tv stand held up with cardboard.stains on sheets. Leaky facet. Tiles off floor in bathroom. Only stayed 2 hours was too gross to stay! JUST STAY AWAY offered a second room and it was even worse.

The place had a bad smell carpets were very dirty and furniture very worn foam sticking out of a chair in room. The bar was a real dive had some strange people there. We later learned from the locals that its mostly sailors and shipyard workers...

While the Hotel itself has an older feel- it was very clean; pride of ownership was obvious. The rooms in the Hotel itself were very reasonable for the price. The pub is very friendly and quiet. Restaurant can be slow- but this is typical of small towns in NL (from my experience). Life seems a little more laid back. The...
