Detailed Reviews
The efficiency was really top notch. Staying in the suburbs of St John's provided easy access and a cheaper rate. The facility was absolutely wonderful. There was a full kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. It was very clean and well kept. The owners, Agnes and Pat, couldn't have been more accommodating. Pat even allowed us to use his garden hose to wash our rental car. The housekeeper, Rita, was super nice. She even told us that if we needed anything, we should ask and she would be there without delay. It was really nice to sit on the porch in the quiet of the early morning or evening. We stayed way over the time we expected, only because ti was so convenient, clean and hospitable. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. A real gem!

We stayed at a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen. The apartment was spotless, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. There is even a washer and dryer on premises for guests. The location is an excellent jumping off place to visit St John's and several of the nearby peninsulas. There are several nearby restaurants although we chose to cook for ourselves. A fish market is nearby. Supermarket is a further drive. Highly recommend staying here.

I just finished staying for 6 days, I wish I could stay 60 more !
First off, the grounds around the properties look as if hired groundskeepers live there. Huge flowering plants everywhere you look, on the front steps, beside the all new stainless BBQ`s...everywhere. On the property there is a nice spot where the swings for the kids are installed, along with slides and playhouse type setup. Also there is an above ground swimming pool close to the owners house for all to use, with picnic tables setup so the adults can relax while the children use the pool or swing set.
On the lower floor of one unit is the washer and dryer, $1.25 for wash, $1.00 for dry, I just left a hotel where it cost me $10.00 to do the same load, The unit 6-A was spotless, with a brand new raised deck on front and sides with high quality PVC wicker type chairs, love seats with end tables. The kitchen was properly appointed with everything you would need for cooking, even pyrex measuring cups. The living room was the best because of a full size LG smart screen TV. The internet connection quality and speed was the highest I have ever tested living away from home, almost 30 meg per second download. There is even a VCR connected to the TV in case your "old school" :)
The bedroom had a huge sleigh bed, matching bureau and end table, with light dimmers. The mattress was a perfectly clean pillow top of extremely high quality, that makes such a difference when sleeping away from home. I had the impression that everything was brand new.
The bathroom was bright, white and spotless, with an endless supply of hot water due to the fact that full size family electric hot water heaters are installed in each unit. Even the toiletries in the bathroom were brand name, not generic. There were many white towels, facecloths, hand towels in the closet. The units are designed so that you have proper privacy, one deck on the side, another on the back, two on the front type thing.
The icing on top of cake is how friendly and helpful the owners are. After having a nice conversation about where to sight see, I had explained to Pat, the owner that I have been having a hard time trying to track down a nice boiled dinner. Before the end of our meeting, I was invited up to his home for a real Newfoundland cooked boiled dinner! Wow, it`s pretty hard to turn that down and I`m glad I did not because Agnes, Pat`s wife made the best dinner since my Grandmother, corned beef, roast beef, potatoes, turnips, carrots, cabbage, gravy, mustard pickles, peas... I just did not want to leave, and then the apple pie with ice cream and tea was served to me, absolute heaven.
I would also like to mention that there is a Chinese restaurant that is a one minute walk from Comerfords that serves terrific food with a reasonable prices. They also serve all types of Canadian food. The parking lot was so full of cars from people dining that others had parked on both sides of the road and walked up to this place to eat, all of them local people.
I highly recommend Comerfords to anybody travelling along this part of Newfoundland, and that even if I did not get to taste Agnes Comerfords delicious supper!

These are bright, well furnished, spacious clean efficiency suites,- there are suites with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms (and of course kitchen, living room, private bath etc). Our kitchen (in a 1 bedroom suite) was equipped with fridge, stove, micro, coffeemaker even utensils. The units are located in a lovely setting looking down on the waters of Conception Bay. These suites are located in Holyrood, within about a 35 minute drive to St John's. Free parking right next to each suite. Very reasonably priced,- quiet and peaceful, off the main road.

The suite was clean and grounds very tidy, We stayed for 2 weeks and became friends with the residents! The clearing at the end of the road was perfect for sunsets and sunrises. We definitely will be back. Amenities included fridge, stove, coffee maker, linen closet, full bathroom, HD tv, cable, internet and perfectly appointed chairs on the porch for your morning coffee! Lovely place!

This is a great place to stay to feel like home. It's an entire 2 bedroom apartment, with a king size and a double bed. The living room has a flat screen tv to play dvds, a dining area and a full kitchen. Everything was very comfortable.

Two couples travelling together, we found lots of space for us in unit #10, but it was damp, including the carpet in the bedroom. There were lots of earwigs, too. The rooms are in need of paint, and there was a lot of dust, which just made it feel not clean all over. Also, the name Ocean View is misleading, as we couldn't see any water even from the front of the building (we were in the basement on the back where all we could see was the back yard of the neighbours house). In 2 weeks of travelling throughout NL this was also the most expensive place we stayed in, so that makes it more disappointing. We were there for 3 nights and did not get any clean towels. We barely had enough to make it through our stay.
