As part of our itinerary my wife and I were booked to stay at the lodge. We did not plan on fishing or hunting, just site seeing but the thought of staying in a lodge appealed to us. The room was nicely decorated but nothing like we expected for a lodge after viewing the website. It was very small and...

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. Upon booking we ask if you would like a dinner reservation and if there are any allergies or dietary restrictions, in your case you booked through an agent. On the bottom of your voucher in bold print you are informed to call ahead for dinner reservations. We had not received...

I want to emphasize that I'm commenting mostly on the fishing side of the business at this lodge. This place also provides accommodations and services for guests who just want to tour the area. What drew us to Tuckamore was that it was highly recommended as a fishing lodge, specifically for Atlantic salmon on the north peninsula. When we contacted...

To say I was disappointed to read this review is an understatement. As the client stated on his report the fish were late arriving this year, that is true, however totally beyond our control. To say that we are not concerned about our clients and we parachute in guides is unbelievable. We have professional guides who have been with the...

Had a fantastic two night stay where both the accommodation and lodge exceeded our expectations! Barb runs a very efficient and friendly operation providing wonderful suppers and breakfasts prepared by her great team. The lodge facilitated meeting many others over the supper table providing a friendly traveller atmosphere where we shared stories and travel tips. Although we did not avail...

recently stayed as part of a snowmobile group. food was fantastic, rooms are well decorated with comfortable bedding. had a great stay with a family group and look forward to going back again. I am told this sits in an area with very good salmon fishing and is set in the wilderness with beautiful location.

The lodge was quite comfortable with a friendly staff. The rooms with double beds and private baths were very nice. Their 'delectable meals' (their verbiage on their web site) left a lot to be desired. A plate of beans with two balls of mashed potatoes, a heaping pile of elbow macaroni with two ounces of ground meat, or a roast...

This guest arrived at my Lodge with his own expectation. I had sent contracts to all hunters but none were returned so I had no idea of their medical condition (person writing this report had a sever heart problem (10 Stents) which I was notified by his guide after his first morning of hunting. However to be fair I knew...

My father and I had an incredible experience at Tuckamore Lodge. The remote location in the heart of Newfoundland wilderness makes for a memorable setting. Right on a lake with pristine shorelines, the setting is perfect. The lodge itself has a great feel, with animal decor and interesting books. The meals were hearty and delicious - there were dishes like...

Had a great trip to Tuckamore Lodge, the staff is awesome very friendly ready to help you to feel at home and relaxed. The food was great someone noted that the noise level was high I slept like a baby. To wake up to the smell off bacon coming from the kitchen is a real treat, certainly overrides any noise...

Spent a couple of nights with my parents. To summarise, we had a fantastic time and so did everyone we spoke to that stayed there. We are planning to return as soon as possible. The staff are 5 Star - over the top service and will help in any way they can. Fantastic people including the owner.operator who couldn't do...

Tuckamore offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Staying here is like coming home to a close family who just happen to live in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth. We returned for a night recently and were pleased that it was just as good as we remembered. There's a casual atmosphere but, at the same time, every need...

Stayed 3 nights at Tuckamore (was only meant to be 2, but were unable to get to Quirpon!) Lovely ensuite room, and a huge lounge and dining room to enjoy with other guests. Barb and all her staff were exceedingly kind and helpful and the views from verandah of the lake were magical. Dinners and breakfasts were home cooking at...
