Detailed Reviews
This was our second visit to Trinity and second stay at Eriksen Premises. On this visit we stayed in the Spa Room because of the king bed and jacuzzi tub since we were very tired from a long hike. Unfortunately there was a boil water advisory in Trinity during our stay, so we weren’t able to use the tub (the water was brown). The bed was comfortable, however, and we had a nice time!
We stayed for two nights and so we enjoyed two breakfasts in the restaurant. One thing to note is that they serve only one thing each morning so there is no choice of menu. We had breakfast sandwiches on our first day (egg, bacon and cheese on a bagel) and blueberry pancakes and sausage on our second. Both were very tasty and we were offered second helpings. The staff are very friendly and informative and they made our stay very pleasant.
Our one slight complaint was that with the boil water advisory we thought it would have been nice to provide bottled water (instead we had to drive out of town to purchase our own), and we also would have liked to have been advised that the jacuzzi tub was unusable because we likely would have chosen a less expensive room.

We had a very spacious room with a king sized bed, jacuzzi tub and mini fridge. There was loads of space to put luggage and the bathroom was very large and clean. Our room had period decor however the very large common lounge was dated and not true to the period of the house so could of used a facelift. The breakfast room was also very charming with loads of light from all the windows. While the breakfast was not fancy or large it was tasty and filling. Being the town of Trinity is very small, everything was walkable from here. Parking was plentiful. There was no elevator in the main house so be prepared to walk up an old staircase with your luggage.

Trinity is such a cute little town, with steep hills and colourful houses circling the water. Eriksen was conveniently located just a short stroll from the water. It was hot while we were there and the rooms were sweltering despite the multiple fans. Breakfast was included, and Bonnie was very nice and helpful. There was also a guest lounge with a TV and coffee station. My room was up a small but narrow stairwell, so don’t bring large luggage if you’re staying here, it will be a pain to get up to your room.

Me and my family (6 all together including a baby) decided to head to the Port Rexton and Trinity area for the day to do some exploring! We stopped into this establishment for our supper. The server who met us at the door was very accommodating and put two tables together for us to be seated together.
We get seated and and the server was at our table within a couple of minutes to take our order, we still needed more time and asked to come in a few minutes. she was back again like two minutes later. We still weren't ready but she made us feel rushed so we ordered anyway without having the proper time to look over the menu.
She returned later on with out drinks. Me and my siblings had tea and we couldn't even mix it because we still never had our cutlery.
Then came our food. My sister's burger was burnt, we found plastic in my other sisters tarter sauce. During the time we were eating not one server checked in to see if our food was ok or if we needed anything else. The whole time we felt very uncomfortable and like we were an inconvenience. The manager came down to serve another table and as she was walking away didn't even acknowledge that we were there. I had to ask for our bill and where we had to go and pay.
When the serve came out with out bills (which we had to go looking for) we very politely expressed our thoughts about how poorly we were treated and the server got very upset with us and got the manager. We tried to explain the situation to her while the server was yelling at us and constantly cutting us off while we were in the middle of a saying something.
The manager then decided to take it out back so that we weren't in the main entry way, understandable. The manager physically put her hand on my back and pushed me in the direction, which I didn't appreciate at all and said to her that she didn't have to push me. This whole time the server was still cutting us off while we were talking and pointing a pen in my sister's face.
The manager then ripped the bill from my hand told us that we didn't have to pay for our meal. She said "there your meal is free, that's what you wanted anyway" which isn't true. Me and my family pay for our meals everywhere we go and leave a tip as well.
We were extremely disappointed that our fun day was ruined because a server didn't know how to treat her customers properly.
I work in the restaurant industry and know first hand how busy tourist season can be. Never have I seen such a rude and obnoxious server!! Learn how to treat your customers better and don't just assume that they're looking for a free meal because they have a complaint!!!!!

What my family and I just witnessed at this restaurant is something we will never forget. We were seated close enough to hear how rude some other customers were treated by their server and I can only assume the manager. One of the customers had a burger that was burnt black and they couldn’t even get the attention of the server to let them know. When they went to pay for their meal another lady that was with them commented about how poorly they were treated. The person I assume to be the manger put their hands on the customer and told them let take this over here but we could still hear and then accused them of only coming there for a free meal when they had their credit card and were willing to pay. I was afraid to complain about poor my meal was, I feared I would be embarrassed and treated the same. The the customers that were there dining while we were there I’m very sorry your had to experience something like that. Worst customer service I ever witnessed

We stayed at this place in room 5 last week. The bathroom was tight and poorly appointed. Both the sink and shower had hair from previous visitors stuck to the sides. The volume of water in both was just a trickle.. unbelievable how that could be considered to rent. The soap and shampoo was too scented and the room was scented as you enter. Bad for allergies. The key got stuck in the lock and was difficult to get out. A trip to the bathroom had you wiping little stones from your feet before getting back in bed. It wasn't quaint, it was tired and not attended to properly. Stay elsewhere if you can.

We had the opportunity to stay for 3 nights. The facility a former store is clean, well appointed . Our room was charming, including the sloping floor.
My biggest concern is that it bills itself as a B&B.. The bed part was fine, but cold cereal hardly qualifies as breakfast and for us removed some of its charm

We arrived in Trinity the third week of June. We hadn't booked ahead, unfortunately, although we did everywhere else on on our wonderful two-week trip to Newfoundland. Found that there were slim pickings for accommodations (wish we been smart enough to book Campbell House instead!) After finding that several places were booked up, I went to Erikson Premises, as they are in charge of a number of B&Bs in town. The question, "Do you have any rooms for tonight" threw the two ladies behind the desk into a complete tizzy. Really, it was pretty bizarre to see how flustered they were, and I am a nice unthreatening Canadian girl! Finally after much rushing around they found a room and located the owner to take us there. That was a bit of production too, and fairly off-putting. The stress and anxiety felt like it was catching! Anyway, she took us and another party, who were also mystified by the commotion, to Kelly's Landing. It's a typical outport style house, very traditional and overlooking the harbour. However, inside the commn area was fairly dark, grubby and disorganized. Not horrifying or anything, but again off-putting. Our room was tiny, which they had told us about, but clean and nicely decorated. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. The owner, once she had settled down, was kind enough to tell us that the capelin were running in English Harbour nearby, so we checked that out later that evening. In the morning, we had to walk a few blocks back to the Erikson Premises for our breakfast. (This was suprising too, as Kelly's Landing has a kitchen and dining room.) It was a buffet, so we had to get plastic trays and walk back to the gift shop, where the food was spread out on the sales counter. (Losing points for ambiance, eh?) I used the toast grilling machine, which burnt my toast, as you couldn't control the setting or how long it was on the conveyor belt thingy. There wasn't any peanut butter (why is there no pb in Nfld?) but it was quickly fetched for me when I requested it. The other options were pancakes from a mix, and yucky extra-fatty cheap sausages. There were a couple of cereals and the one I chose was stale, so I politely took it back and traded it in for another one. So, all in all, it was disappointing, compared to the other fantastic places we stayed. However, the area is lovely, the theatre was well done, Skerwink Trail is a must-do and sea kayaking with Darren of Trinity Kayaking was fantastic.

The property is totally lost in the community internet promotion. It was clean, gracious, fairly priced. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and you actually felt that you were a guest in a traditional rural Newfoundland home. Allowing that it would have been quite an upscale Newfoundland. This community is certainly worth a swing through if for no other reason than to stay at the Eriksen Premises and take in a night of the theatre.

We had dinner at this restaurant -sept. 2011 and wouldn't go back. Bread was served immediately, but we waited a good twenty mins. for the salad, and then our meal came immediately after getting the salad. No time in between courses. The pork chop dinner was tasty enough, but too well done and dried out. The dessert that night was "apple bread pudding". It was tasteless, not a nice consistency and served tooooo hot, with a very sweet syrup. Not worth the calories.
Wouldn't go back.
