Under NEW Ownership in 2013 we are settled on the shore of the Bras d'Or Lake, this family run Motel sits on top of a beautiful hill overlooking the lake. We have a private beach and docking facility, and a heated in-ground pool. Our Cabot Restaurant is open daily for Breakfast and Dinner, with most seats providing amazing views of the lake. We are 5 minutes drive from the Village of Baddeck, and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. A wonderful stop for two nights when traveling around the world famous Cabot Trail. We are a small, comfortable, CLEAN, family motel that specialize in making our guests feel at home. We are " A refreshing stop along the way..."

Stayed here last weekend with two of my sisters and our elderly mother. Made the reservation months in advance to get ground floor rooms with as few stairs as possible as our mother has mobility issues. I was advised that we were upgraded at no charge to accommodate my request. We arrived around 6pm to check in. The lady who checked us in was a gem! We had a chat while she was processing the check in and found out she is the owner. While checking us in she noted that there would be buses arriving throughout the night due to the celtic colors festival taking place and moved us to the end of the motel where it would be quieter for us. We appreciated that a lot! So off we went to our rooms and unloaded the car and got our mother settled. Rooms were so clean and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the water too. We were going to go to Baddeck for supper but decided to just go to the restaurant on site and we were definitely not disappointed. Our waitress was great and the food was even better. So after supper we headed back to our rooms and after a short visit, we all decided to call it a day (we're all in our 50's, except for mom and like to sleep lol.) The next morning we went to the restaurant again for breakfast and again, we were not disappointed. Breakfast was great! We had a different waitress and she overheard me say that my husband (who wasn't with us ) had given me a few extra dollars and I was buying breakfast that morning as it was on him. She brought the bill and it said "thanks Jason" on it and we laughed so hard at that. We are planning on returning in October next year to walk some of the trails and we unanimously decided we want to stay here again. One of my sisters is the manager of a very popular Inn and I work as a front desk agent at the same place. We know good service and we got it in spades at the Cabot Trail motel!

We were a group of ATVers (16 machines - 27 guests) traveling from Cheticamp and we arrived before check in time however we were treated as any other. Check in was very pleasant and quick enough for 17 rooms arriving at once. We were offered a private sitting in their restaurant so we could all eat together. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was phenomenal. The rooms were in need of updates however well taken care of, and very clean, the pride in their establishment shined through and the view was beautiful! Breakfast was the same as dinner, wonderful, with the same phenomenal staff. We certainly were made to feel welcome and appreciated, everyone raved of the service and food on the way home. We would certainly stay here again and we highly suggest this establishment for a nice visit to Baddeck, out of the hustle and bustle of the village but close enough to enjoy what Baddeck has to offer.
Thank you for the wonderful memories!

This is the friendliest place that I have ever stayed. The motel is great and the people are like family. We had a pleasant stay in a great room with a beautiful view of the Bras D'Or (lake.) The restaurant had the same great view and very good food.

We then had a personal disaster when our car suffered a catastrophic failure while we were 700 miles from home. The motel owners Cat and Everett and the rest of the staff were angels and went to heroic lengths to save us. Gert and the front desk sent her brother-in-law Richard to help get our car off the road and make sure that we were OK. Everett picked us up and brought us back to the motel. Cat arranged a tow to a repair shop (alas the car could not be fixed.) Cat arranged a rental car. Cat arranged our flights. Everett drove us 45 minutes to the rental car. They then saved us a huge one-way fee by retrieving the rental car from the airport 2 hours away.

I have traveled a lot and have seen many things. I have never seen this type of kindness. Gert, Margaret, and Marlene at the front desk were amazingly friendly and helpful. Our waitresses Erica and Bonnie were very friendly and great at their jobs. Our maid Joy was great and kept the room spotless.

I did not know any of these people until a few days ago, yet I feel like they are family. I have never written a review like this, but wanted people to know about these wonderful people at the Cabot Trail Motel. The weather was not great and our car died, but this was an unbelievable stay.

Close to Baddeck and the Parks Canada AG Bell Exhibition. Situated on the shore of the lake (there is a dock across the road you can use to go swimming...) .
The hotel is clean, well organized and well frequented. It has a restaurant attached for breakfast and supper, while you have Baddeck and a close Tim's as an alternative

You get a gorgeous view of Bras d’Or Lake. The rooms are neatly maintained, although well-worn and basic. There is no WiFi reception except near the motel office, so guests were standing outside the lobby trying to get online. If your motel needs are basic, then this is the place to enjoy the view. I got a good nights sleep and enjoyed a break from the chain motels.

We stayed at this great motel overlooking the Bras d'or Lakes on Sunday night. We have had a great dinner there before but it was our first time staying. Our room was clean and comfy and we had the deck to ourselves overlooking the lake. The view from our bed of the lakes was private and spectacular. Best of all is the dining room with a fantastic view of the lake. The food was outstanding and the service was the best. What a friendly and helpful staff! Wish we had gotten the name of the university student who was our server for supper and breakfast. We want to tell management that she is a real asset and made our meals even more pleasant. We will be back.

We stayed here 3 nights. There's a restaurant on site open for breakfast and supper. We ate there twice for breakfast and once for supper.Rooms are nice with patio door to sit outside and overlooks the lake. You can go across the road to lake where they have a dock and gazebo to sit in. Collected beach glass, shells and stones there.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, working showers and AC is an easy 4 stars. This place goes over and above with a great view of the waterfront, and an awesome restaurant staff for breakfast. The restaurant was reasonably priced and everyone in our group enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend.

We were very pleased with our room. Our room was clean. We had a great view of the Bras D'Or lake in front of the motel. We quite enjoyed sitting out on the front deck and taking in the view. We had requested, and we obtained, the room at the very end of the building which is the farthest away from the Lakeview Two Doubles building. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.

Substantial, Hearty, good value for money. Beautiful view.
Great staff. Coffee and tea were good. Clean and tables, well spaced.
We were out for a drive looking for a tradional breakfast when we decided to take a chance on this place, having seen a Facebook add recently. We were not disappointed.
