Hospitable Owner and the Staff... good food in breakfast.. wifi speed was perfect... perfectly located on the Bras D'Or lake. Rooms were neat and clean. Toiletries were provided, towels clean, washroom tidy and housekeeping staff cleans the rooms on daily basis to keep it hygienic. Although the property has the Coffee machine however if you are a Tim Hortons lover, the nearest Tim Hortons, Gas Station and Grocery Store is just 4.5 kms from the property. Will definitely recommend to all travels to try this property..

We were upgraded to a lake view room at no extra charge. Muskoka chairs are provided to relax in and take in the lovely lake view. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The toilet was slow to flush and refill, but other than that, everything was good. We enjoyed the self help breakfast of yogurt, scrambled eggs, toast, buns, fruit and other things. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Everything sub par. The room needs a thorough cleaning. Dusty mop boards, curtains were soiled, toilet took a long time to flush and most times appeared to be going to overflow. We noticed a stain on the door mat and thought nothing of it until the next AM when we noticed faded nail polish all over the duvet. Really feeling like it may not have been washed. Breakfast was included but I would go to a restaurant and enjoy one as this one had overdone scrambled eggs, watered down juice, burnt muffins, fruit yogurt toast and coffee was good. The owner asked us how things were and at first we said OK and then one in the party said she was going to let him know the truth and told him about the nail polish etc and he decided to go take a look and discovered it was on both duvets and the stain on the mat was also polish, the toilet one click doesn't do it you hold down the lever but it still didn't do much. He went on to discuss $$$$ and checked out our nails which none of us had polish on and none with us so we left and probably will not return.

The Trailsman Lodge is perfectly located and accessible. My partner and I were very impressed by location, just off of the highway. Easy access to the Cabot Trail and Baddeck. The owner and family were very hospitable. Our room was clean, spotless and the view from our back deck was amazing. We were lucky enough to see eagles flying over the lake. And the floating dock was restful. Highly recommend the Trailsman. Try the fried chicken, it is amazing....Loved it all.
