We had a fabulous time at Adventures East Campground, staying in the 2 bedroom cottage. The unit was well equipped and thought out. Beds were very comfortable with a tower fan in each bedroom, hooks for hanging clothes and towels, a narrow sofa table which allowed for space to tuck gear below and above and all kinds of pillows, which was perfect for us. The shower had great water pressure and we had a lot of towels with staff replenishing our supply the next morning. The main living area was spacious with a new sofa bed and flat screen Roku TV. The kitchen was well equipped with the essentials and lots of storage, making food prep a breeze. There was a fantastic BBQ with range burner, picnic table and an awesome outdoor covered porch/deck - we were lucky to have sun during our trip but this would be ideal on rainy days to allow for BBQ'ing and sitting outside. The pool was heated and well taken care of. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location for exploring Cape Breton is ideal - you can't go wrong with this choice for your vacation.

We camped at adventures east campground for 3 nights we had a wonderful time! The pool was nice and washrooms were clean firewood bundles were large and staff were friendly. The only thing that wasnt so great were there were no outhouses near tent sites and the washrooms were far from the tent sites especially with young children. I would suggest the put up some sort of portable washroom near tenting sites. Other than that had a beautiful time :)

Excellent staff. Really helpful. Nice and friendly place to camp at. Washrooms exceptionally clean. Showers have plenty of hot water. The sites are a little to close together but people are friendly. Wifi was a bit sketchy but if you are parked near bathroom it's great. All in all a good experience.

I like the place location as you are not in a field but ppl are so bloody inconsiderate, loud music at night, dogs barking pretty much all day (owner not on the site but dogs tied up). Have a pool if you want to go swimming. For me it was a place to stay as I travelled around the Cabot Trail.

Four of us stayed in one of the two-bedroom log cabins, which included bathroom, kitchenette, and living room/dining area. Very cosy and clean, and although the campground is just off the main highway, the site is well sheltered with trees, and you can hardly hear the road. We had two days to see the Cabot Trail, and the staff at the campground were very helpful when it came to planning our route and activities.

We booked this cottage sight unseen on August 16 2008 based on information through the "Check In Reservation System" located within a Tourist Info Building in Pictou Nova Scotia. The reservation was for that night, guaranteed with a credit card and so there was no canc policy in effect. Upon arriving at the site, we realized that the "cottage" was actually in a Campground, but not advertised as such...also the property was overcharging us from the rate they themselves had guaranteed in the official Nova Scotia "doers and dreamers 2008 Guide". Total misrepresentation, and when we asked them to kindly release us from the guaranteed reservation, they refused. We did not stay there and found other suitable accomodations nearby and decided to take our chances that they would relent and not put the credit card charge through. Just received our bank statement, and the charge is there.
So we are not embroiled in a Credit card dispute.

I did not stay in any of the 3 cottages, but did spend a delightfully pleasant and quiet week plus stay in the campground off season.
Adventures East offers 3 cottages, 2 have 1 bedroom and the third unit has 2 bedrooms. They come with living room and kitchen / kitchenettes, outside bbq grills and porch. Each unit is a separate building. Housekeeping - clean sheets and towels are offered.
As for the Campground portion of this place - We liked it. Adventures East has over 70 different sites, ranging from no hookup (tent) to full service (w/s/e 30amp). About 20 sites are under trees (yes there are branches hanging in to sites at places) and lengths vary both in depth and width. The majority of sites are w/e service and are in an exposed field. All sites have fire rings (they sell fire wood on site).
Small playground (swing, slide, seesaws) and outdoor pool are available. Laundry, hot showers and wifi. gravel/dirt road and grass sites.
Cabot Trail is right outside the entrance, and you're just a few km from the community of Baddeck. There is a (dirt) boat launch in to Bras d'Or Lake at the driveway entrance if you like to kayak or canoe. Great place to paddle about and watch Bald Eagles soaring overhead.
Not much staff around during our visit - again, early in season. Manager was on site every day during daytime hours and was very helpful in giving us suggestions for touring and the community. Other staff were in and out doing odd jobs (mowing, painting, etc). We stayed here in a 5th wheel and will put Adventures East on our return to this place list.

This campground was conveniently located close to Cabot Trail and the town of Baddeck. The campground was no frills and had full hook up sites located at the top of the hill on fairly level shaded sites. The rest of the campground was on a hill in the sun and it was dusty. The campground is under new management who have plans for improvements.

We parked our travel trailer here for 3 nights while we toured Cape Breton. It's the perfect place to stay as it's just minutes from the Cabot Trail. It was clean and well maintained. There are sited that are open and some that have shade. The park staff were fantastic. I would recommend this park for "Dropping your trailer" and touring Cape Breton.

Clean campground, nicely maintained pool and washrooms. For tent sites, we found the circle was a little intimate, but not bad, just something to know before you go. We stayed here five years ago, in a different part of the park, and the location was a bit better then for tenters. We will go back, for sure, it was nice and quiet and we appreciated that.
