Nice room, good view, well appointed. Had an accessible room, nice when older. Staff very friendly. We ate in the dining room a couple of times. Good food, friendly servers. Like many places were short staffed, but those that were there worked extra hard. Nice location, walking distance to several restaurants.
The location is great — central to everything in Baddeck. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and the front desk staff were very helpful. We had dinner on the deck at the restaurant and really enjoyed the food. We would definitely stay here again on another visit to the area.
We had to wait to check-in, seeing as it was off-season, but the directions were clear and we had everything we needed. The room was clean except the jetted tub must have been used with some kind of bath bomb previously that came through. Not horrible, though. The room was large and had a small frig. Loved that we could open the windows! Grounds are very pretty.
We looked for a centrally located hotel as we wanted to visit the Cabot Trail and found this hotel. The hotel is authentic, with original decor, eye for detail. Spacious room and spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower. Although on a kind of crossroads very quiet at night. Nice and friendly staff, thought of everything.
We found the Inn to be exactly as depicted on their website. It is situated right in the town of Baddeck which makes exploring on foot very convenient.Staff were pleasant & helpful. We stayed in the main building which has only a few rooms so it was quiet.Breakfast was very good.Just a short drive from great walking trail with waterfall. We would definitely stay again when visiting lovely Baddeck.
An interesting hotel with definite character which was nice to see. Rooms were large and comfortable. Only negatives was a lot of flies in the room and the heater was old and broken(cover was hanging off but still worked). Some areas show wear like the carpets. A nice stay all in all. Unfortunately the restaurant was very underwhelming and would rate that as a 2 star.
There are a number of good dinner choices in the area, but in a 2.5 week stay we ended up having 3 meals at the restaurant at the Lynwood Inn. So good! We especially loved the large, nutrient-packed, and tasty spinach salad, but had great steak, bean burgers, soup, lasagna, and more. Plus the desserts are really yummy too. Not to be missed.
When I arrived, I was directed up to a room that wasn't ready, with a really unpleasant sight sitting unflushed in the toilet. Piles of garbage stood in a hallway, and an unused room was piled full of junk, sitting with the door open, for days (over my entire stay). Their internet was broken. For EV owners: the EV charger in this hotel lot was the extremely expensive (it was $30 to refill my car). Consider staying somewhere else, and charging for free at the Bell museum down the street. On the plus side, the decor was quirky and unique to say the least. It's a beautiful old building in a beautiful spot. The staff was nice.
My wife and I stayed here for one night while on vacation from Ontario. We had a corner room on the top floor with a balcony which offered great views of the water and the sunrise. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend the Lynwood Inn.
We just stopped there to check menu and ended up having dinner there two nights in a row. Food is unforgettable, plates are huge and the best fresh lobster and mussels you can taste. Our server Teresa Anne was very helpful and sweet. Food came very fast , wine selection very good If you happen to be in Cape Breton just stop there and you will be surprised and satisfied; don’t go to Lobster Gallery; very expensive and dishes are not even close to what we tasted in Baddeck at Lynwood We were four friends and this is our best food experience in Nova Scotia
