Generous sized room with deck overlooking bras d'or lake. Sitting area in room. Comfortable bed. Nice and clean. Aircon a bit noisy but didn't bother us as didn't need it on overnight. The laundry room was a big bonus as we were travelling around for a few weeks. Didn't try the restaurant as a 15 min walk into town. Would recommend the pizza place there.

Overall we had a comfortable visit. We stayed at this lodge on route to do the Cabot trail and the location was easy to find and convenient. It was in a short driving distance to the main road, a petrol station and the local town centre (which includes a supermarket Coop). Check in process was easy and the staff were friendly. There is a restaurant in the hotel (we did not eat there, but it is available 7 days a week). Unfortunately there are no lifts, so you will either have to take your bag up or down a flight stairs. This may not be suitable for elderly/less abled individuals. Room was very clean, but decor and furnishings are very dated (from 80s or even earlier). Same goes for the air con, which is also very noisy. There is a coffee machine provided and some toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner). Views are lovely overlooking the lake and is very peaceful.

we stayed as a family of five with a dog in the chalet, it was very clean and spacious. Had a kitchenette with a mini fridge. The beds were very comfortable and where you are in the back of property there is very little noise from the main road. The water in the shower was plenty hot and did not run out, we enjoyed the pool as well.

This is a nice property roughly 0.6 miles out of Baddeck. Is has good views and is very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner there were very good. Be aware that the doors do not close on their own! Good staff. Has a coin-operated laundry and staff will help with detergent and change.

I loved this hotel. A great example of don’t judge a book by its cover. It is old school style and maybe just a bit tired BUT it was very clean, had robes in the room, staff was friendly and helpful. In house dining was very good too. I’m still thinking of their seafood chowder

The location of this place is lovely! Fantastic view across the lake and walking trails in the woods behind. It’s a five minute drive to downtown and easy to find on the highway. We stayed in one of the “chalets”, which are up the hill from the main lodge. Each has a private deck looking toward the water and there is teeny, tiny kitchen with a small fridge and a few dishes. Towels and robes are soft and plentiful, nice toiletries in the bathroom and daily cleaning. The decor, however is from the 1980s. Or maybe earlier. The rooms and buildings are very tired looking and feel damp and dank. There is very poor lighting, no real place to do any work and not enough outlets, though the wi fi is pretty fast. There is a clean and affordable guest laundry that’s open 24/7. Most of the staff seem surprised when they are asked to help with something, like checking in or giving directions. Perhaps it’s just been a long season.

We have enjoyed vacationing in Baddeck on three other trips. This is, IMHO, the best choice for Baddeck. You get the charm of the old-fashioned lodge, but with an updated,well-maintained room. Loved the main lodge with its fantastic view and balcony. The bed is very comfortable-the linens are first class and the embroidered robes a nice touch. This is not a contemporary styled property. You can get that elsewhere. This is a very appropriate lodge style you would expect in such an outdoor-oriented, quaint location. Spotless, friendly, comfortable and a good value. Love the big windows that allow for the cool fresh air to flow through the room. I definitely agree with other reviews that there should be a more easily accessible electrical outlet for phone charging. The folks here could not be nicer. The restaurant was very good value on the buffet night!

We stayed here 1 night at the beginning of our Cabot Trail adventure. We stayed in one of the chalets. It was super comfy and clean with great views. The main lodge and restaurant was an easy walk "down the lane". We didn't have dinner in the restaurant, only breakfast which was typical. I would recommend this lodge.

Great place to stay. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Cabin we stayed in was great with a little kitchen. Food at the restaurant was also good. And a beautiful view onto the water. Convenient spot to start and end your journey of the Cabot Trail. I recommend staying here!

Our king water view room in the main lodge, on the second floor, was very spacious! It had a beautiful view of the lake with a little balcony. Great bed too! All the people that work there were very nice, helpful, and hard working. We also had a couple meals in the dining room that were delicious! Baddeck is a great place to stay.
