Stayed 2 nights at this place and really enjoyed it. We had a room in one of the blocks looking over to the water. The room was spacious with a nice deck to sit on. The bed was amazing… we didn’t want to get up in the morning as it was so comfortable. My husband described it as like sleeping on a cloud. We didn’t eat here as we chose to eat in town but the place is very well maintained and clean and the staff are most helpful. We had trouble with the keys (couldn’t get into the room after they were reset 3 times) and they sent a maintenance man to fix the problem. All the staff were extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again,
We stayed here while on a tour of the Canadian Maritimes. Our room overlooked Bras d'Or Lake and we could lay in bed in the cozy bathrobes provided by the lodge and enjoy the view. There was a porch with chairs to sit on to enjoy the views in warmer weather. Our room had an eastern king bed (huge!) which was very comfortable. The lodge restaurant also had a lake view and the food and service were excellent. Staff overall was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
We only spent one night here as we were doing the Cabot Trail.... and it was a pleasant surprise. I like the outside sitting chairs, fridge in room, and clean atmosphere. It has great water views, and I think they have an outdoor pool too!
We stayed in a chalet for 2 nights. The room and bed were comfy. The kitchenette had a dorm sized refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, some cabinets and a coffeemaker. There were dishes for 2-3 people. There's a deck off the back with a pretty view. We're an older couple, but this would be a great place to stay with children. You can sit on the deck and watch the kids on the nearby playground, or playing badminton or horseshoes. There a small outdoor pool that was pretty well heated, but not warm enough for me. We did laundry here. Two washers and two dryers. It cost $4 to wash and dry a load. They sold detergent at the main office if you need it. Wifi was good.
Quiet- stayed in chalets. Staff friendly at check in and answered all questions. Lots of restaurants in area to eat. Beds comfy and room clean. Beautiful view of water. Chairs and picnic table out front. I have stayed here before and will go again.
I was thoroughly dissatisfied with my stay at the Silver Dart Lodge. Upon checking in, the stench of mold in our room in the East section was so overpowering that we had to keep the windows and patio door open. We could hardly sleep from the pungent odor. There were dehumidifiers in the hallway but none in the room. The view of Baddeck was lovely, and the laundry facility was a nice convenience. The pool looked nice as well - I would suggest to have an adult-only hour so that adults can have some time to enjoy the pool without loud children running and jumping around. I would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it as a place to stay for others while in Baddeck.
Very central location! We stayed in the chalets for 3 nights the past weekend and we enjoyed our stay immensely! The room was very clean and spacious, we really enjoyed having the kitchenette in the room. Also enjoyed having a deck to sit out on and take in the view of the lake. The lady at the front desk was excellent and went above and beyond to help me out. The awesome customer service was like a breathe of fresh air and was definitely appreciated by me 🥰 We would recommend this place to all our friends and will be staying here whenever we are in the area!
Enjoyed our 2 night stay in a king room overlooking the Bras D’Or Lake. The bed was really comfortable & the large room had almost everything you’d hope for in a nice hotel. Only things missing were tea or coffee making facilities, which was disappointing (4* as the restaurant has been closed all year due to the pandemic) However a coffee maker & cups were provided once requested. Other nearby hotels had restaurant facilities on site. The balcony overlooking the water is lovely. Would stay here again.
We stayed here 10 years ago on our first trip to Cape Breton together and are very happy we stayed again. The view is absolutely beautiful and you cant beat this place. The staff are wonderful, our room was very clean and they brought us a microwave to use since the dining room was closed due to Covid unfortunately. A shame as the food here is spectacular, along with the view. Comfortable and clean and great value - hard to beat this place. Its a bit older but has all you need.
My partner and I stayed here on a recent trip to Cape Breton. The chalet we stayed in was wonderfully clean and cozy with a great view! We had initially planned to stay one night but upon our arrival decided we would like to stay for two (lucky for us, our chalet was available for the second night). Our dogs enjoyed their stay as well :) There were some handy walking trails behind the chalets. As well as a lovely hiking trail a few Kilometres away. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area!
