The owners Doug and Christine Coolen live on the premises and their quote "a view with a room" tells the story. This pristine motel has direct ocean frontage with panoramic view of St Ann's Bay from each room. Fridge, coffee maker, wifi and satellite TV included but you will want to stay unplugged with a camera as your best friend....

Immaculate room, comfortable beds, incredible views of Bras D'or Lake, congenial owner. Room nit huge but certainly a fine size for 2 people. Fridge was helpful. The motel is located outside the town of Baddeck, near the Gaelic College.

Wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean, the location is perfect for touring Cape Breton. You are at the entrance to the Cabot Trail, and yet not far from Sydney if you wanted to spend a day there. The rates are reasonable, and the view is spectacular!! The hosts are wonderful people, helpful and friendly. We will definately stay here...

I was looking for somewhere to spend the night after a day on the Cabot Trail and prior to a morning ferry from North Sydney. I happened upon this motel and it exceeded all my expectations. For a reasonable price, we had a great location, a clean and comfortable room, and a fabulous view of St Ann's Bay. The owner...

One of the best motels I've stayed in - Doug was welcoming and charming. Wonderful lakeside location; large, clean rooms; wifi that actually works! Right next door to the Lobster Galley, which is a friendly place to eat. Well placed for the ferry to Newfoundland (about 30 mins drive to/from North Sydney), or for the Cabot Trail.

The pros: St Ann's Motel has a beautiful view of the ocean and the owners are very friendly. The cons: The noise from the highway (the motel sits at an intersection of 2 highways) is very noticeable. The bed was far too soft and featured a serious trough down the middle. Thus, unfortunately, we didn't sleep well at all.

The St. Ann's is a very clean motel run by very nice people, and it has a stunning view. But though the address is on the Cabot Trail, it's at the intersection of the Cabot Trail and Rt. 105, so there's pretty steady highway noise. We kept a fan on at night and that lessened the drone, but you could...

Wonderful find. Reasonable rates. Extra clean. Friendly owners who take pride in their business. Christine does the decorating and Doug does the maintenance. If we ever get this far north again this view with a place will be on our agenda.

If you're anywhere near the Cabot Trail, this motel will surprise you. The room (#7) was great. Well equipped and a view to die for right over the water. I was alone but in good company you would be inspired for sure.

Very clean motel room with large picture window that faced the water - saw eagles perching and flying. Sat outside to watch the sunset and wildlife. Road noise could be heard in the room. At end of Cabot Trail and near college, but not much else around. Not in downtown Baddeck.
